Please only GIRLS - New to thongs!

Hi I decided to start wearing thongs but had some questions about them before i go out and buy some..if u don't mind answering, thanks! 1. do they feel like wedgies? cause I've heard people call them "butt floss" and like cheese wire affect or whatever...if so, do u eventually learn to like/not notice the feeling? 2. are they supposed to fit snug/tight against your hole or loose? 3. do they ride up throughout the day, like while sitting or bending over? 4. are wider back or string ones more comfy? 5. do you wear them everyday and is that healthy? 6. do u wear them during your time of month? 7. do u wear them under everything? (my friend wears a thong when she wears sweats too i don't see what the purpose is there's no panty lines anyway...) 8. do u wear them to sleep? 9. do u wear them for p.e. or to the gym? 10. i see this a lot and always wondered, when u bend over do u know if your thong is showing? (cause i think i would be paranoid of this haha) 11. have u ever been given a thong wedgie? (saw this happen once...did not look good, ouch!) thanks for the help

  • 1. Yes they do
    2. Yeah the strings are supposed to ride up on your hole, the wider-back thongs kind of do but they are more cozy.
    3. Not really, but it depends what kind you buy and if it fits right
    4. Wider back ones are most definitely more cozy than the string ones
    5. I never wear them every day because they give a rash after a while from a day long wedgie.
    6. I NEVER wear them during my period, if you do, blood will most likely get on your pants
    7. I wear them under whatever I feel like wearing, unless the pants are very thin. That's when I wear panties
    8. It's too uncomfortable to wear to sleep (more or less the string ones anyway)
    9. I never wear thongs to the gym. I hate the feeling of a wedgie when I'm working out
    10. It's the same as panties, if you feel like they are showing, pull your pants up
    11. Thongs already give you a wedgie. I bet it would give you a pretty harsh rash in your crack if someone gave you a thong wedgie.

    • i'll go get some wider back ones then, i dont really want a piece of fabric rubbing against my ***hole all day ew...lol, thanks!

    • No problem :)

  • 1. At first they do, but you stop noticing eventually
    2. Not to the point where it's uncomfortable
    3. Sadly, yes.
    4. I've found that some wider back are less comfy, and some string are more. It all just depends on the fit
    5. Yes. You see stuff saying it's bad, but nothing has ever happened to me.
    6. Only when I have to go out
    7. Yes.
    8. No. But you can. I just find it uncomfortable
    9. Yeah.
    10. Occasionally. Depends on your clothing that day
    11. Nope, thank The Lord.
*it might feel weird, but I guarantee there's other girls wearing them. Besides, you're all girls so it's not like they don't understand.
A lot of this stuff is personal preference. After wearing them for a while, you'll figure out what's better for you.

    • thank you! do you ever get used to the feeling of it riding up or will you always feel that happening? sounds like it would be annoying!

    • Eh. I have kinda gotten used to it. Usually it's tolerable, but sometimes I have to adjust it lol

  • 1. I noticed that feeling much more based no material. If its not cotton, it tends to rub me the wrong way.
    2. like regular panties, the waist band shouldn't be too tight. a nice fit is the way to go
3.where else can it ride up to? its already there
    4. wider the better

    5. why thongs may not be healthy article: in which i've experienced here and there wearing one.

    6. no, i dont where them all the time anymore
    7. I only where thongs if its a skin tight dress/leggings etc.
    8. No
    9. no (see article)
    10. it only shows if you want it to. Dont wear your thong waist band above pelvic bone level.
    11. hahaha no, than goodness

When all is said and done, i find boxers, hipsters, etc in lace and any other material much sexier than a lace thong etc.

  • When not commando I like thongs, like more g strings, but the best ones are C Strings. Lol

  • There is a strategy to wearing thongs. There are many different types. G-strings are awful! Start with the ones that are wider, stitched, and bunched in the back, all the way to the crotch. They will feel more comfortable. Also, until you get more adjusted to the feel, wear fitted clothing over your bum. The thong will feel less noticeable when you are moving about. I personally would never wear a thong during my period. I don't want to feel sexy when I'm menstruating lol. As far as the gym and to bed.. Well, personally I don't wear underwear when doing these things but if I did, you wouldn't catch me working out in a thong. If you are going to wear a thong through these activities stated then you need to be sure that the crotch lining is 100% cotton!!! I can't stress that enough. Otherwise you will get yeast infections all the time.

  • 1. At first they definitely do, but once you get used to them you stop noticing, except during certain movements.

    2. Yes.

    3. Not really, unless you do stuff where you make a lot of movements.

    4. Usually yes.

    5. Every day. It can cause a rash to some women, but some (like me) a high tolerance, so you'll have to find that out for yourself.

    6. Yes, I have no issues with that.

    7. Yes, it doesn't matter what kind of clothes I wear, I always wear thongs underneath them.

    8. Yes, I wear them to sleep too usually.

    9. Yes, especially for physical exercises I find them most comfortable.

    10. Not always, but sometimes yes.

    11. Yes, and it's not a very pleasant feeling.

    • thank u! and omg to number 11...it hurt? it looked soo bad when i saw it, i heard u get a huge wedgie in the back AND front...i thought it wouldn't be so bad since the underwear is already up ur butt anyway :p

    • Yeah, it kinda hurt me more in the back, it felt as if someone was quickly pulling a fiber rope through my butt crack.

  • I brought my first pack of thongs today lol
    So uncomfortable!!!
Gota start wearing them because of leggings any advice xx

  • 1.Yes
2.Snug but not tight. You don't want it to be loose either because there will be chafing and of course it will look bad.
3.Not really if you have the right size, but still kinda as that is the nature of the garment.
4.Wider back are infinitely more comfortable
    5.No
    6.NO
7.I prefer bikini panties so of course I don't wear them with everything. Its very seldom. I would say a good rule of thumb is not to wear them under dresses or skirts.
    8.No
    9.No
    10.Some girls don't. I would
    11.No

  • Welcome! I started wearing thongs about a year ago so I understand your concerns. My advice is to buy a few different styles, and try them out to see what is most comfortable for you. I used to worry about wedgies but I find that thongs are like regular panties, you stop noticing that you're even wearing any.
I usually wear them when I am trying to avoid panty lines but if my other underwear is dirty I might wear a thong to sleep.
Try different styles and wear them around your house at first to figure out what is most comfortable to you. Everyone has different preferences :)

  • 1. yes at first but throughout out the day you get used to them, its more getting used to the feel of denim or the breeze through cotton on your butt
    2.snug
3.they should stay as they are but the waistlines can ride up sometimes
    4. strings are more comfy, wider back ones make you keep that wedgie feeling all day
5.i dont wear them every day because i find other kinds of underwear more comfy but theyre not bad for your health. they might be awkward to use with pads if you aren't a tampon girl
    6.no
7.no, i dont wear them with skirts either
8.no, i dont but you can if you want
    9.no
10.i dont know but a lot of times if you have hip hugging shorts and a top that barely overlaps then 90% of the time you'll end up accidentally showing it when you sit or bend over
11.no thankfully and id give them a slap if someone did

    • thanks! about p.e. is it going to feel weird in the changeroom since everyone can see your bare butt lol?

    • yeah, people might look or say something plus it might feel really uncomfy when you're sweaty and working out!
