Why Global Warming Alarmism Needs to Stop

First of all, I obviously believe in Global Warming, and I obviously am not justifying perpetually polluting the environment or anything like that. I want to convert from coal to alternatives, supplemented by Thorium nuclear reactors.

Why Global Warming Alarmism Needs to Stop

However, If you are going to argue against polluting the environment, at least do so on a rational basis, rather than false science basis.

For example, Man-Made Global Warming is unlikely to cause a mass extinction, as the only known very warm periods in the geological and fossil records were actually maximized life forms on the earth, such as during the Jurassic and Triassic and Carboniferous periods. Every evidence is that a warmer Earth can actually support more life, not less.

Moreover, with one exception, every known extinction in the fossil record was caused by a Global Cooling event, not a global warming event. And the known exception wasn't caused by Global Warming either, that was caused by a Gamma Ray burst destroying the Earth's ozone, followed by the Sun's Ultraviolet radiation destroying all life that wasn't several feet below water. Since we are presently nowhere near as warm as the Triassic, there is no evidence whatsoever that man-made Global Warming could ever get hot enough to cause a mass extinction. Moreover, the Earth being much farther away from the Sun than Venus, CANNOT actually experience a "runaway greenhouse effect", man-made or otherwise, so whoever makes that claim is being a ridiculous fraud. Further, contrary to ridiculous myths, Venus has never had liquid water on it. Even the early Sun would have been far too hot for that to have ever been the case. So there is no comparison between Venus and Earth, I don't even know why it's considered an "Earth-like" planet in the first place. In fact, as far as I can tell, Venus is actually cooler right now than it was a few billion years ago, as the temperature, at some point, would have needed to be over 1000 degrees to actually bake that much carbon dioxide out of solid rock.

Although we know of quite a few cases of humans accidentally driving species to extinction, in most cases it was prehistorical humans over-hunting an animal, and I'm not aware of pollution provably driving anything to extinction at all. I'm not denying the theory that such a thing could happen, but based on the fossil record, a mass extinction is ridiculously unlikely to happen because of man-made global warming.

As for man-made ocean acidification, every modern species has already survived at least one natural acidification event that was literally a million times worse than anything humans could ever cause. So its ridiculously fraudulent for anyone to claim that man made pollution would drive shellfish or microbes extinct. They've survived Methane Bubbles in the past, and they've survived a million year long super-plume volcanic eruption in the past which turned the ocean to sulfuric acid, and they survived the Siberian Traps event, so what little is man-made pollution compared to any of that?
