I am baffled at the sheer amount of people that seem to be more concerned about the riots rather than the reasons that the riots occurred. Simply put, the primary reason that people riot is based on a reactionary response to an event. In this case, the riots occurred as a result of police misconduct resulting in the death of George Floyd, which was proven on video. Thus, if people oppose riots occurring, they should oppose the police misconduct that results in these riots. Property destroyed and/or stolen during riots could easily be replaced. Businesses and tourism could be restored overtime. However, human lives taken by police officers based on misconduct cannot be replaced. Therefore, the solution is simple. If you want the riots to stop, focus more on holding police officers accountable for their actions and ensure that they follow their own codes of conduct. The taxpayer pay the police officers' salaries so that they could "protect and serve" us, not suffocate us when we're handcuffed.

Instead, as long as police officers continue to defy their own code of conduct and escape justice after killing unarmed Black people, the job of a police officer would become even more attractive to racists that wish to get away with murder. As for the suspect, video evidence shows that George Floyd was unarmed, not resisting arrest, and was handcuffed when the police officer placed his knee on his neck. He was also begging for help and trying to inform the officer that he couldn't breathe. A police officer is responsible for whatever happens to the suspect if he or she is already handcuffed and detained. No evidence proves that George Floyd even attempted to pay for his items with a counterfeit $20 bill. Even if he did attempt it, that still doesn't warrant an arrest because police officers can't prove that he was aware that the bill was counterfeit. Of course, someone could have easily gifted him or bought something from him using a fake bill at some point. Even if he did purposefully attempt it, fraud is not a crime that should conclude with death. Stop attempting to demonize George Floyd, as he did everything that a detainee was supposed to do. The only person who should be demonized was the man that killed him due to police misconduct.

Black people were either accused of "playing the victim" or lying about their problems to get special treatment, even though it's proven true throughout history. As a result, some people might feel that violent protest might make a difference because everything else failed. While I don't support the riots, I don't support the reason people are rioting. If there was no police misconduct and police bias, this wouldn't be happening. The general public doesn't care about peaceful protests because they do nothing. While people are outside protesting, cops could still be unjustly murdering another person simultaneously. A Black person doesn't have to show concern about Black on Black crime by protesting or rioting. Most Black on Black crime is committed by gang members and believe me when I say that gang members aren't going to stop what they're doing just because people are protesting or rioting against them. If anything, ironically, they're likely to join in on the riots to loot. The solution to raising awareness about Black on Black crime is often done locally through churches, youth programs, community centers, and so on. However, crime in itself is more complicated to stop or drastically lower the number due to its many underlying causes. Thus, another way we attempt to stop Black on Black crime to attack the underlying causes. As for the current solution, whenever a Black person commits a crime against another Black person, concerned citizens call the police and justice is usually served. That Black person often gets arrested, tried, and sentenced. It might not make national news, but as a community, we always show concern for the victims and support the perpetrator being punished. As for police misconduct, on the other hand, there is no solution. If they kill us on duty when it's not necessary, the system would do whatever is needed to ensure that the cop gets off scot-free. That in itself is a problem that needs to be addressed as well. Just because Black on Black crime exists doesn't mean we shouldn't focus on police misconduct as well.

If people are rioting because of injustice, the best thing we can do is tackle injustice. That's not my point though. My point is actually extremely simple. For some reason, @DocT1977 has strongly convinced himself that I am a supporter of the riots and violence. I told him about five times, maybe six, that I don't support violence. Yet, in his responses, he's attacking the false claim that he's making up about me that I do support the violence. I actually strongly oppose the rioting. I just feel that the best solution to prevent more riots from happening is to END THE REASON PEOPLE ARE RIOTING.

Common sense and putting it simple:
Police misconduct is bad.
People are rioting because of police misconduct.
Riots are bad.
Therefore, get rid of police misconduct. Enact a law that would guarantee police being punished harshly for breaking the law.
Cops get punished and thus would be deterred from breaking the law.
People no longer have reason to riot.
Problem solved.

After what I have seen last week, there is no telling what can happen now. I never liked Trump and had planned on voting for Biden. But now I am a Trump supporter and will vote for Trump.
