How often is a friendship formed after a fight with an archenemy?

I never had any girl in my school trying to fight me and if she did, then she would lose fast in a boxing match with me. I've always had more male friends so I pretty much learned from them.

Plus, I don't think I would forget it and befriend that girl. What if later on that person has that previous negavtive thought about you all over again but is being a phony?

But can this actually happen? That you go from declared archenemy, even have a physical fight with that person all the way to being good friends afterwards?

I only read about a story like this at:

Apparently the male poster was described by someone else as a school bully. The guy he bullied, one day beat him but feel terrible about it afterwards. Then they somehow become friends. I think this mainly happens with guys. Not sure if I would ever be friends if some girl was my archenemy.
