How do I fight depression alone?

I started feeling sad after a certain event but it got worse- I cry every night and have to force myself to get up in the morning. Sometimes I fail to get up so I just spend the whole day laying in bed. It feels so awful cause I've tried telling my parents and they'd said "its just a phase, you'll get over it." and basically laughed at my face for "being dramatic".
Please tell me what do I need to do to get rid of depression. I really feel like I'm drowning and don't know how much longer can I last.
