Neither. It's not if there should be gender roles or if there should be gender roles. It's if you want to fall into line of the gender roles , be my guest. If you don't , also be my guest. I have cookies.Seriously why the fuck does someone care so much about how someone live their life which has NO influence on him/her? Caring, not caring, over caring... these things don't matter and are strawman induced. It's a question of observation.
"thealphamaleishere" ... are you kidding me? how were you raised? tell the overwhelming male presence in your life to chill out. too much masculinity is disgusting. jesus. there is no role-reversal, only the equality of genders. this isn't the fuckign 4th century.
Okay let's analyse the narrative in you head. Let me ask you. What is a alpha man?
Are you getting this worked up over a username?
An alpha male is a leader. Thats all it is, all that it is defined as. You're biased, so your perception is skewed. And no, @rthomas43 its not the username, its about the gender roles. The only women who would actually be okay with this is some dumbass ignorant southern white girl who doesn't have the capacity to think about anything else besides how to defend her "political views" shoved down her throat, using the bible as a justification of hate. Use proper grammar next time you try to try to sound smart. *An alpha male
Such an ignorant statement. There is the narrative that I was looking for. This is the type of girl that gets asked out by a guy (alpha) shooting straight to the point of going on a date... a guy that does not look to draw up pointless conversation about how his uncle works for Toms shoes and he noticed hers so he wanted to say hi... Yep, you are the type to turn a alpha down for not asking for your fucking name before the date... then dis a lame beta who does. I know you women like you.
Then ironically goes home to watch 'The Notebook'... A movie about a guy that WOMEN LOVE because he is a obvious ALPHA that skips small talk and goes for what he wants in life. Fucking walking contradictions lol ohh how I know
No, not really. I like that movie okay, I just hate Noah's character. I turn down alphas because I like betas. It's pretty simple. Alphas are conceited assholes who expect me to go out with them. I'm kind of a pretentious bitch, I always like the least popular of options because I think I'm badass and non-conformist.
Key word "you think"Again, a alpha asks you out... you say no... they move on. You don't know what an alpha is.
You're right. I've never given an alpha male the time of day. But any guy that labels himself as the alpha, seems pretty off. I act really narcissistic too sometimes, but its ironic. If a guy thinks he can get me, he won't. You just said that alpha males move on... girls don't like that. We like the chase.. we don't like feeling like someone is entitled to us. We want alpha males to feel rejection because they don't expect it.
Again, you have no idea what an alpha male is. Would it be 'pretty off' if a guy labeled himself as a beta? Honestly stop. I pegged you and you know it. The more you comment the more it shows you are just bitter and applying negative qualities to your idea of alphas. And you know I pegged you.
A lot of this would help you... you have the typical misconception that this gentleman speaks about. Type: Truth About ALPHA Males into YouTube. Calm, relaxed, focused, grounded, CONFIDENT
You're kidding right? I think 90% percent of women will all agree that guys who label themselves as "alpha males" are egotistical. What the hell makes you superior to other males? I don't seem to be getting it. Women don't like alpha males, you're obviously not doing a very good job of defending your statement. You know I'm right, and I accept your apology. It's okay, don't worry about it :)
Dramatic shift in debate view usually means some sort of cognitive dissonance was introduced. Seed planted.
No, I didn't see your comment about the YouTube video before I typed my previous one.
Who said you did...
I think you're misinterpreting what this Elliot guy is saying. he's talking about the balance of yin and yang, how a strong person (not specifically male) keeps themselves grounded and balanced. I think you're applying it to social hierarchy. Labeling yourself as alpha, when most people see that word in that context as saying you're superior, is very beta (in the video's point of view). I even said too much masculinity is bad, and thats why society should not have gender roles. I think you need to actually watch the video.
That's not true at all because he makes very clear distinctions between alpha and beta and also applies very CLEAR traits to ALPHA people. None of which were negative. You have some blinders on that should probably be removed. See, he was speaking of people like you who distort the view of alphas by thinking that immature juice heads like Ronnie from Jersey Shore is the typical alpha. Elliot demonstrated how they are actually more of a beta. get real with yourself.
Have an opinion?
I voted A because I think biology has a great deal to do with how people's brains work, way more than society does. I don't see a role reversal; rather, a widening of expectations for men and an attempt at a decrease in responsibility for women. This attempt is having some success but is starting to run into its logical limits and in some cases going beyond the logical limits.
Gender roles are just stereotypes I say break conformity
Have you ever really thought about that statement? So, if you really were consistent with that statement... if all men started shifting to stay at home men and women worked... that would be completely normal to you?
Nothing ever really changes.
It feels like women want men to act like men. And women want women to act however they want
It feels like women want to redefine men... and act how ever they want Lol
I think rules that benefit women will stay, and benefits for men will slowly diminish.
Seems that way.
