I've met some pretty severely autistic kids who have a very low quality of life.
@FallOutBoy2001 according to you. They might love their lives.
if they're surrounded by loved ones I think they can live contently
@FallOutBoy2001 : Sanctity of life is what matters, NOT "quality" of life. Stop believing that Nazi crap.
@ObscuredBeyond I know, right? Since when can anyone else decide whether someone should live based off their possible future quality of life?
@TheSpartan: Mengele's legacy is alive and well in western society today. It only starts with excuses to assassinate the unborn. It proceeds to assisted suicide - then outright murder - of the elderly. Based on increasingly subjective criteria. It always extends from there to include anyone the central planners deem "un-needed." Anyone they project to be expendable, must be sacrificed on the altar of Death. In their quest to rid the world of "superstitious" belief systems, they have embraced the worst kind of superstitious belief system there is: the death cults of Moab and Carthage.
@ObscuredBeyond "murder of the elderly" my father has literally said that once he gets so old that he has to be taken care of 24/7 that either he kills himself or we let him undergo euthanasia. He knows that he won't be able to live his life to the quality he wants, and he doesn't want to live like that
@FallOutBoy2001 Great, he can go ahead and kill himself when he reaches that point. What does that have to do with brutalizing the unborn?
Because you brought it up.
@FallOutBoy2001 I never brought up the quality of life of elderly men.
@FallOutBoy2001: I would sooner keep on ticking, even if I have to be 80% of the way to being Darth Vader just to keep breathing and mobile, than dare succumb to the human sacrifice worldview of ancient Carthage. Quality schmality. But to even think in those terms is to pull out the welcome mat for a slippery slope. Every nation that embraces assisted suicide, eventually makes euthanasia mandatory. The minute it's acceptable to execute someone just for outliving their subjectively-perceived "usefulness," the meaning of "usefulness" becomes fluid enough for those with the means to excuse executing whomever they please. And if you allow it - even for a misguided family member's sake - the impending Holocaust is on you.
HELLO! Autisim can't be diagnosed while in the womb. Asker has a false premise, and his head up hi ass
@Aqualung it was a hypothetical question
@FallOutBoy2001 An uninformed one
@Aqualung whatever. She was saying "if" not "you can"
@FallOutBoy2001 What does "you can" have to do with anything. , the question is clear, just a poor choice of affliction

Won't be able to do anything with their life? You have probably ran into numerous people out and about that you didn't even notice had autism. There are so many different forms of autism, you can't just assume that they would be destined to have an awful life.
@Shawmby I still wouldn't take that risk there's a high chance that the kid might not be able to do anything which is bad for everyone. An abortion is, in my opinion, given the expected outcomes, the best thing for the parents and the child.
What the fucking hell did I just read?
people shouldn't be talking shit when they don't know much about autism. it doesn't make them unable to do anything at all.. it just makes them more of a struggle to look after. you have to be aware of sensory issues/ comfort zones/routines. if the child is distressed he/she could lash out at people/objects or them-self. my ex boyfriends brother is autistic and he is pretty much a 5 year old in a 20 year olds body. he watches kid programs and loves toys. yet he can change himself and eat by himself. people really need to read about stuff before making assumptions
@PlanetOfTheIdiots I'm not going to lie I would not want a life where it would be an accomplishment for me to change myself. If I was autistic I would honestly not want to put problems on anyone else. And you're talking about the mildest forms of autism. I know people who can't even walk straight because of it and I would not want that for anyone.
Apparently you don't even know that there is an autistic person right here.
@Thisperson98 Bruh you realize you're not the autistic person the asker is talking about. She's talking about more advanced autism. You probably have asperger's or whatever at most. That's light and obv no need to abort for that. I'm talking about the autism that would not even allow you to type.
@Thisperson98 who are you trying to insult exactly? and also using autism as one.. that's low dude lol
@PlanetOfTheIdiots Oh shit he was trying to insult me... I didn't even realize that. That's low. @Thisperson98 you're a horrible person
@PlanetOfTheIdiots XD I am autistic...
... autism that doesn't allow someone to type... BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@PlanetOfTheIdiots you've clearly never known anyone with severe conditions of autism before
oh i have. but they were perfectly capable of moving and doing things lol what they could NOT do is learn new things. severe learning difficulties. you might wanna read into it
@PlanetOfTheIdiots I have as well and the people I've known with SEVERE autism could not even walk straight. And why would I read into it there's plenty of less depressing stuff that's more interesting.
i think you have the wrong disability then. especially if you can't be bothered to read into it.
that child you met has dyspraxia. he could of also been autistic. autism is not dyspraxia lol look it up
@PlanetOfTheIdiots He probably had both because he couldn't talk or learn anything as well. But that's beside the point I don't see why I would put a child through the pain of anything, even if they just won't be able to develop or learn. We can agree to disagree on this, but my stance is firm on termination.
a min ago you were arguing an autistic kid can't move. that you have MET someone with SEVERE autism who couldn't type. and now it's beside the point? please get your facts right before you run your mouth, you make yourself look dumb as hell. and no i am not being nasty just being honest. yes they probably did have both. it is a possibility
@PlanetOfTheIdiots I'm sorry if I have other interests in life besides autism. I didn't know there was a difference between the two. Sorry sue me. I may look dumb as hell but I doubt you're the girl who's taking multivariable calc in high school and playing on the varsity tennis team (I am).
"The kid isn't gonna be able to do anything with its life" ... you've never met an autistic person, have you? Most of them have savant skills.
I don't see your point. Your NON autistic child could end up being a loser too.
@clarezero No most of them don't. Most of them portrayed in movies do however.i.ytimg.com/vi/5Ahtc9yC6jI/maxresdefault.jpgThis guy is a savant, doesn't mean all of them are.
The fact that people actually have to think about it is disgusting.
how do you know the autism will be severe?
@chickenflipper Cross that bridge when it comes. But yeah, not just autism. Anything. If it's going to affect the kids quality in life (which also nails my quality of life), we getting that abortion.
what if they have high functioning autism? some of my friends have it and they're a little awkward but have friends, jobs, and been in relationships.
Hell is worse than suffering in this life though. So that renders your excuse null and void. Surrender to a doctrine of death - and murdering an innocent solely out of fear that innocent will suffer - is worse than the actual suffering - which can build character. It is a demonic pagan superstition that this kind of potential suffering necessitates child sacrifice. Anyone born with autism will attest to that.
It can't be diagnosed in the womb, unlike "Downs Syndrome ".
@ObscuredBeyond nah bud, God is hell. Rendering that mute. And to the "fear of suffering"..,I say to the rest of you... if it's something simple and manageable, that the doc can't pick up early, then no. But if the kid is going to be impaired, then we getting some tequila and coat hanger! ... and I'm getting that fucker circumcised if he is a healthy boy!
Autisim can be diagnosed as early as 2 years old. And it's now a spectrum disorder and includes dyslexia. Do your homework and unscramble that mind of your's
You referred to God. Why did he create us with foreskins? You know something he doesn't
@Aqualung omg... really? Where in any of this did I refer to autism specifically? Didn't they teach you to read carefully before answering? And please specify your God. Which God are we referring to? There are so many mythologies. Lol you and obscure beyond will love this question😂:www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q2121616-yo-religious-anti-abortionists-i-have-a-question-for-you
What do you mean by "God is hell" , And it's "moot" not mute (didn't you know that? ) There is only one God , Joseph Campbell..
@Aqualung... yes moot. My error. Educated me now on Joseph Campbell too. I mean God is the bad place where people don't want to go to (the Abrahamic God anyways)
Just busting balls, every religion (monotheistic) has a God, of some sort. So, is it the same God for all interpreted differently? Dunno, think so. Joseph Campbell, who passed in 1987, was the world's foremost authority on mythology, a preeminent scholar, writer and teacher whose work had profound influence on millions, To him mythology was "The song of the universe, the music of the spheres" - Liner note from his book "The Power of Myth " which is compilation of PBS interviews he had wit Bii Moyers. I remember the interviews as intense, very deep and mysterious." People say that we're all seeking is a meaning for life. I don't think that's what we're really seeking. I think what we're seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances within our innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive. . . " - Joseph CampbellWorth reading
are you alright mate? how about that 1 percent chance, and WGAF if its autistic its still a human life that deserves living
@Elisa13 1 percent is really low. It may seem like a lot if you're being blinded by hope, but if you think about that 99% chance it'll be autistic...Who gives a fuck if it's autistic? I do. It's not a life worth living, not need to make it go through that.
I have a cousin who is autistic and he brings joy to my family. Yes, it is awfully hard to watch him sometimes as my auntie struggles to tend to his care, but he is still human. He doesn't talk but he walks, laughs and communicates in all different sorts of ways, I just can't believe there are people out there who see a so called "problem" and shout out "abort abort abort" THAT is whats wrong with our world and society...
Yeah, fuck you, man. I'm autistic, and I'll beat damned if I'm going to let your stupid ass say that people like me shouldn't exist.
@Elisa13 Yeah once he is there you should include him and stuff. Wouldn't it be better if he just wasn't there though?@TheSpartan I've seen varying degrees of autism. I have a friend who's autistic and I couldn't even tell he was autistic. People like him shouldn't be aborted. Again, you can't actually know so I don't know if this hypothetical way of knowing if a child will be autistic can tell you how autistic they're going to be. I know another guy who is also autistic, and he has like no friends and has trouble with speech. Would have been better if he wasn't born, for him and everyone else.
omg i can't believe the shit coming out of your mouth right now, i actually feel sickened that you think like that! And no, it wouldn't be better with out him you silly person ;(
@Elisa13 I have to agree with him. I've seen people with a terrible quality of life because they're so low functioning.
@Elisa13 It wouldn't be better if he just went away right now, but I'm sure it would be better if he had never existed at all. What has he ever contributed to your life that some other random person couldn't do?
Let's say there's a boy who has a hard time making friends. When he's interduced to a group of kids he blushes and looks at the ground. A girl pats his back and he puts on his hoodie and bites his lip. He says he wants to work by himself and walks over to his desk. Grabs his paper and starts writing.Later he goes into the corner, zips up his hoodie and whimpers.Should this guy be aborted?
Whimpers? What do you mean by that?
He starts to cry.Do you think this guy should of been aborted as a baby because of his behaviors?
If he does this often and never ends up making any friends throughout his childhood, then yes.
It doesn't matter, many people have "low qualities of life" how about those living with other illnesses, they STILL deserve a chance to live. And yes he has contributed to my life, his taught me that there is more to living then being able to verbally communicate, his taught me how to smile in times when i feel like crying, his taught me that life is precious and to be thankful for the life I live and not fuss over the little things
He grows up to be a 50 year old virgin because he thinks sex is evil and sexual arouseal is wrong and must be avoided at all times. When he was 15 at school he can't go a week without crying or wetting himself in class. when the teacher asks him a question he hides his face. So, what do you think?
i think that I've been through schooling for 13 years and have not once experienced or heard anything like that
@Elisa13 Mental illnesses are different from physical illnesses. Mental illnesses make you incapable of experiencing certain things, it's just terrible.he's*he's*he's*And alright, he's taught you that there is more to living then being able to verbally communicate. You could've watched a documentary on the lives of mute people and understood the same thing. He's taught you how to smile in times when you feel like crying. I assume you mean that he cheers you up, and if he was replaced with someone else who wasn't autistic they could still do that. He's taught you that life is precious and to be thankful for the life you live and not fuss over the little things. Well there are a lot of things that can teach you that that don't involve someone living terribly.
You need to grow up and experience the world, travel, get a job, get banged, fall in love, get heart broken, and then come back to me and I will hear your perspective. Your just a selfish 14 year old brat who obviously doesn't have any one close to them with a mental disorder so you will NEVER know whats its like and you have no right to say who and who doesn't have the right to live, you not God jez
@Elisa13 I can't grow up on command, I can't experience the world right now, I don't want to travel, I already have a part time job, I'd love to get banged hit me up, and I probably won't fall in love or get heartbroken, I'm pretty cynical. You're*Explain to me how I'm a brat and yes, I do have a friend who is autistic, although he isn't very autistic. They don't not have the right to live. But if they're fetuses then they can't decide for themselves. Actually, since they're mentally disabled, they can never decide for themselves (although this depends on how disabled they are). They're not even a fully fledged human being yet, better not to take the chancve of them living a shitty life and saying "I didn't ask to be born".
Many would argue, mental disorder or not, that their life is shitty, some live with debilitating diseases yet they still have the right to live. I know of people who are living in VERY tough situations and they still wouldn't trade a day of their life with death, and neither would I. Do me a favor, go read the Bible, or Quran, or any other religious book and you will find, not matter what it is, that EVERY LIFE IS SACRED, AND NO ON HAS THE RIGHT TO TAKE ANOTHER PERSONS LIFE! end of story. fin.
@Elisa13 But their parents didn't know their life was shitty when they were a fetus. If you could see into the future and you knew that the baby you were pregnant with was going to have a shitty life, would you abort it? I would.I'm not going to read any religious books, I don't really care what's in them.
Some day you will realize that you do need to have your own kids. i am sure about that.
@capturemyheartnow uhh why do you think you know me better than I know myself?
I know you a little from some of the messages you have left for everyone interested in reading. You seem to be a nice girl. And nice girls always act nicely. So the nicest option for you is to have your own children so that you can give them maximum love. And I know you are very capable of showing your love by making the necessary sacrifices and undergoing pain in child bearing for the sake of having your own child.
@capturemyheartnow you do not know me. What honestly makes you think you know over the freaking Internet? I don't want kids because I want to focus on my career, I find children repulsive, and I want to travel.
Sometimes your present thoughts have no bearing on what will happen in your life in the future. Sometimes the Universe takes control and let's you do the right thing. And the right things in the world is that you will choose to have your own children. I have already let the Universe know that I wish you to be blessed by children of your own. When you have them , please remember that a stranger had told you about it.
@capturemyheartnow a stranger that doesn't know me in the slightest. I hated kids when I was a kid. Nothing has changed. Cut it with the universe is controlling your life bullshit.
If you hate kids , then why are you thinking of going for adoption?
@capturemyheartnow I don't know if I would do an abortion. I would consider it though.
May be when you have a career and mature friends and a respectable husband who likes to have children of his own , you may change your mind.
No, they can't. They'll live an empty life in misery and wish every day they wake up to be dead by the time they go to sleep. Every single one of them, it happens with those significantly above the curve and those below the curve. Autism is a sentence to a lifetime of social failure and misery.
@Gommers u don't kno that
@chickenflipper I know it from the perspective of someone on the extreme upper end of the IQ scale. Most of the people I'm friends with near the 140+ IQ range all want death. I mean we joke about it a lot, we all work our asses off, but we just have a much harder time living in a society that doesn't want us anywhere near where we should be.I've been friends with autistic people before, most of them were suicidal; two committed.
@Gommers www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q2122344-would-you-be-friends-with-a-shy-guyWhat do you think of this guy?
Two of the guys answering the question are liars. It'd be social suicide to associate with that.
@Gommers I was in special Ed and many of my friends have had autism, most went through depression but the ones who came to accept it like it about themselves. some of my buddies see it as an advantage. a few join disability advocacy groups or get a job in advocacy. they find community from being with similar people. my best friend wanted to die but once she found community among people with disabilities she feels accepted, is popular, had jobs, etc.the misery comes from depression not autism. the problems from autism can make you depressed but u have to take on the challenges ur given and make the most of them. anyone can get depression and be suicidal whether they have autism or not.
@Gommers why do you say that gommers?
@chickenflipper I have an IQ fluctuating between 2-4 points away from genius status. Life is way fucking harder for me than it could ever be for someone with autism or significantly low IQ because I can actually comprehend my position and the distance I am from where I should be when people who are exceedingly average have always been and will always be my superiors. I'd rather work for a sociopath or psychopath than for someone average because intellectually intimidating your superiors is a quick path to the unemployment line. Not having to deal with that reality must be nirvana.
@Gommers anyways, back to my question about the shy guy, you wouldn't hang out with him because you're smarter then most people and most people with autism are stupid? There's lots of people with autism...
@Gommers My doctor could diagnose me with high functioning autism because I have all the symptoms. But I didn't want a label to define me. Middle school and high school were hell. I had anxiety and depression and wanted to die. After a ton of therapy, meds, different schools, I'm finally able to cope and function. If I didn't get the help I needed I'd be in a mental hospital or dead. But after learning all the coping skills I am very content to be alive. I deal with mental stuff on a daily basis but I can handle it. Just because you didn't get adequate help doesn't mean everyone with autism suffers as much.
are you talking aspergers?
There aren't a lot of people with autism, for the same reason there aren't a lot of people with bipolar disorder, or OCD, or ADD, or ADHD... When something is over-diagnosed by the psychiatric community information falls into the hands of the otherwise ignorant. They get the information, read it, "gee it sounds kind of like my kid", POOF that kid is now that disease because you don't want to take the time to parent your child...Autism was just the hot mental heath disorder that's been replaced with body dismorphia and transgender issues at the moment. Who knows what the hot button disorder will be in 6 months.
@chickenflipper www.girlsaskguys.com/.../q2122344-would-you-be-friends-with-a-shy-guyWhat do you think of this guy?
@chickenflipper Aspergers is just high functioning autism
@Gommers yeah I mean people with aspergers can have very high iQ. Some are like geniuses. Autism doesn't mean you're automatically stupid or unaware of anything.
@chickenflipper Technically that's something else entirely called Savant Syndrome.
@Gommers Even if they have savant syndrome, which isn't even in the dsm-5, they still have autism.
@chickenflipper You're talking about rare exceptions, true autism isn't common, savant syndrome is even more rare. The over diagnosis of these conditions is a tragedy.
@Gommers so sorry for your being effected by the disorder. Seek professional help. You can still live a full, rewarding life
@Gommers maybe you're just not a good hire, Einstein
@chickenflipper probably, it's the only affliction on the spectrum that really resembles the true definition of "Autisim", which was revised from when l studied Pysch in the late '70's. And until recently, Aspergers Syndrome was its own disorder and has been thrown into the spectrum, causing Aspergers to be dismissed, And, so has other mental deficiencies. How often these days do you hear that someone is "Mentally Retarded"? It makes it much easier for parents to say their child has an Autisim spectrum disorder. Political correctness at the cost of proper treatment for those afflicted. Google " Imbicile, idiot, moron and creatin, which were all valid medical terminology for mental limitations
@Aqualung what's your stance on the term mongaloid?
@chickenflipper it used to. They were called "idiot Savants", just as people wit Down's syndrome were called "Mongoliods"
@Gommers dude, why don't you apply for a position as a Professor at MIT?
@Gommers Don't forget "Narcissim", it's today's" Edipus Complex"
@Gommers It's inappropriate. It was used because of the facial/cranial appearance of the afflicted ; resembling Mongols
@Aqualung later changed to downs syndrome.
@Gommers And rightly so
Having autism doesn't automatically mean they would have a bad life. There are SO MANY people in this world with autism that live very happy lives.
@Shawmby The majority have bad life and get judged and mocked everyday I don't want my child to live a pitiful life like that
I know a lot of kids with autism and they're all incredibly happy. Everyone is different but I don't think it's fair to not give them a chance at life just in case they get picked on
@Shawmby We don't live in the same country, where I'm people are really judmental plus I wouldn't pass all my money of this child for his mental problem neither have time to take care of all the things for him even though he's 30 and should be married.
