I agree with all of those for sure. I would add the Deepwater Horizon and other oil spills. OJ Simpson murder trial/police chase (as far as sensational news goes) All the major school shootings, especially ColumbineGeneral mass shootings like the Las Vegas MassacreThe released studies and research on global warming and pollution
And the moon landings
How can a person pick just one? History is full of them. The most recent was 911. It was a coup d'etat against the citizens of the USA and kicked off the government's scheme for perpetual war. It turned the U. S. into a police state and gave an excuse for the actions necessary to achieve global hegemony.
good angle on it but just one point. the states has been at war or involved in overthrowing another countries government for 98percent of the time its existed so i wouldn't say 11/9 kicked it off... was just a little booster
@wankiam, I agree as far as international affairs are concerned. The perpetual war of global imperialism fully began after WWII. But 911 made eviscerating of our constitution possible and ushered in acceptance of full authoritarian rule in the USA.
a bit like the lockerbie disaster in the uk gave thatcher the excuse to extend the criminal justice bill thought 11/9 did also have international repeccussions in that it allowed our government to come up with allsorts of snooping laws and new reasons to detain that really have nothing to do with terrorism but are more an affront on basic human rights to live a private life
Living in Florida the space shuttle Challenger burnup was memorable.
Noone still knows how that happened
Sad day and I believe set backthe entire shuttle program. Affected NASA funding and attitude negatively across the country.
Have an opinion?
Announcement of world war 2
All the Kennedy's getting killed someone said, the Kennedy Familyhas a curse put on them. Another one is Martin Luther King Jr , 9-11 for sure , Michael Jackson's death , Prince's death , Whitney Houston's death yes just too many dying young.
One thing is for sure nothing in my lifetime was more influential than 9-11. It has been a continuous strong influence since then world wide. We would have certainly lived in a much different world today without.
I agree with your choices but I would also add Titanic, the me too movement and womens rights among many others
As a citizen of Austria, of course the assassination of archduke Franz Ferdinand in Sarajevo 1914, which led to the first world war.
Well... every news event changes the course of history. Our present is changing all the time every day with every single little thing that everyone does everywhere.
The discovery of bacteria and their effects on life and living.
you American by any chance?joking aside i would go for the big bang, an asteroid hitting earth and killing off the dinosaurs and miley cyrus wrecking ball video
@update and russia liberating berlin from the east
I would say when the evil George Bush was elected. If it wasn't for him - Isis would not exist.
9/11 it's the event that started modern warfare, made people question Islam, started the rise of terrorist groups and a new era overall
"started the rise of terrorist groups"I think the Irish and the Basques might have something to say about that statement.
You really wanna compare these guys to my Osama?
Like 2000 people died in 9/11.Over 50,000 were killed or wounded in The Troubles, and they killed Lord Mountbatten may the gods torment his soul, and on two occasions nearly killed The Prime Minister. So yeah
I meant if you compare the total deaths caused by ISIS, al quaeda and Taliban and the Muslim brotherhood and al mujahedeens there is no competition
People say only 9-11. I would say I would stop all the terrorism activities that went past and try to stop the future terrorists attacks.
Obama’s presidency. It was the second worst thing that happened when I was living.
Use of the atomic bomb at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The internet and the iPhone.
Everything in the 20th Century. We've seen a lot of historical stuff.Simples...
Hitler's suicide was meaningless. He was gonna a be captured and executed and even if he'd managed to get away he had a developed mental illness
Technically all news events change the course of things
The cruxification of Jesus Christ!😇
Well you know what I meant lol
He meant real events, not fictional ones.
Jesús Christ has resurrected! 😊
He meant actual events, not fictional ones.
The dead of Jesus is one of the scientifically most proved fact. And his resurrection is the only possible reason for the behavior change in the disciples until the praveness to die for Jesus.
@standardguy Nothing you just makes any sense. What do you mean its the "scientifically most proved fact"? No peer reviewed paper exists that supports the existence of Jesus, let alone his death and resurrection. Also, if the apostles are fictional then their change in behaviour is also fictional.
Both World Wars
September 11th 2001
The birth of Jesus
