I am transgender and I consider sex reassignment surgery self-mutilation because it butchers the penis without creating a functional vagina. I don’t consider orchiectomy to be self-mutilation because the penis is left functioning and intact and the surgery isn’t as brutal as sex reassignment surgery.
Anything past clipping your nails and hair done not because of health problems is mutilation
Let's put it to you this way.If you have your dick and balls chopped off, vagina sewed shut or boobs lobbed off that is genital and mutilation. If you cut off a arm or a leg or cut yourself up with a knife that is self mutilation.Anything like that is bodily mutilation.
Hey every liberal that reads this type in any search engine “lesbian couple tore off boys penis” this whole identity issue is going to far and it’s a mental illness but you liberals think America is a dictatorship which isn’t even close. You have no idea how lucky we are
Have an opinion?
It could be. But it doesn't really effect me, so why do I have to define it for someone else?I figure it can be many things.
Circumcision is just as bad as FGM except the one is accepted and the other one is considered a crime. They both be considered a criminal act against the integrity of the person. End of story. There is no medical reason to circumcised a newborn baby. It is solely a religious nonsense and being practiced against the full consent of the victim.A newborn cannot oppose this ritual crime with consists of circumcising it. Parents doing that should be sued to the same extend as those of a girl that is being excised. You can do both if you want but only when the concerned is fully aware of the consequences of this intervention and with the possibility to oppose this crime against the integrity of a person.
If God ordered it, it can't be a crime. Because a crime is an act against God's will.
@standardguy OK, that is you point of view. Thank you for the feed-back.
If you are doing it by your own will and choice then it is up to the degree you "edit" them. And sometimes also the reason. For example a possible solution for erectile dysfunction can be a penile implant. Technically you are editing your genitals. But you are doing it for a good reason and by your own decision. If a woman decides to have vaginal plastic surgery because she had a traumatic child birth, it is completely different from having it because her SO said he would like her to have it. (Idk if you get my point here...)Self-mutilation or self-harm are usually linked to mental disorders. I don't think that a conscious choice of having something edited on your body by a professional falls into this category.
Pretty sure thats the whole point of having trained proffesionals perform a surgery, precisely so you DONT mutilate yourself in the process. Imagine what itd look like if you tried to take out your own appendix. Thats what it would mean to mutilate yourself. Having a proffesional alter your body in a safe and sanitary way, whether it be as simple as a piercing or as complex as a sex change, i dont consider that mutilation.
It depends on whether or not it was by choice or not, and if it was done correctly.Getting a proper gender reassignment surgery? Not self mutilation.Being forced to remove your clit Oris because of tribal traditions? Mutilation.Chopping off your own bits with a meat cleaver at home? Mutilation.
I believe a person should be free to do whatever they want to and with their own life and property so long as they are not harming anyone else or anyone else’s property. How much more should they be free to use their own body as they wish! People who want to control how others keep their physical features are of the same mindset as those who force their women to wear burkas. What difference does it matter to your life? How would you like your body being controlled by others?
Penis enlargement surgery can be necessary for some men and cool for other men. Regardless, it's nobody's business if I decide to upgrade my junk to make it bigger. As for women: some girls are like throwing a hot dog down a hallway, so vaginal rejuvenation surgery is the only option.
The term mutilation is over used. People seem to use it whenever someone is having surgery they don't approve of. It's a way of demeaning the person and the action. Of course, there is true mutilation, but again, the word is way over used.
That depends if the end result is considered normal looking or not
Yeah, I guess. Same goes for piercings and stretchers and stuff like that. But that's a technicality only. I'm not against anyone having those procedures done in the slightest.
I don't consider it to be self mutilation, but the Roman Catholic Church does consider any augmentation to the body as self mutilation. Tattoos are considered self mutilation cosmetic surgery is considered self mutilation...
Even breast implants? Really that's going to far.
No because I assume you aren't performing the surgery on yourself
If you done it yourself that's a given. Having a surgeon do it I would consider it halfway.
Yes. It is mutilation, even if you agree to it. Any alteration of your body is mutilation, consent or not.
Depends what u are doing to it. Is the surgery medically necessary? Thats the decider
If the function and sensibility of the organs are left intact I don't think it's mutilation.
Mutation=change it to what it isn’t so regardless of if you want to or not it still is but what ever you do you
What other people do to their own bodies is nobody else´s business.
That's a fancy way of saying cutting up your privates
I mean, if that's self mutilation, so is any other body modification. Breast implants, breast reductions, uterus removal, vasectomy, etc.
Its a choice. Mutilation means disfigure so it is possible but not normally the end goal
Yes, but circumcision not included.
Yes it's definitely self genital mutilation.
Please define 'editing'
Basically sexual correction surgery. Not including circumcision.
Do you mean when someone is born intersexed and has 'corrective' surgery?
I mean when someone undergoes surgery because they want to be the opposite gender.
Not any more than any other plastic surgery
Yes, why would you do that?
Yes. It is. But I don’t see it as a bad thing.
Yes, I would say so..
