Have an opinion?
It's legal in NZ, and many other free civilised countries it in world, I would like to think the USA is civilised and free enough to allow this. Prostitution will happen regardless and I personally would prefer those woman paying tax and working in a safe regulated market, with free sexual health test to be included in their tax rate. I personally would prefer how prostitution operates here oppose to how it operates in the USA where it provided a commodity to street gangs and orginisied criminals where these woman get stuck without a voice, being exploited and abused by thugs. In my opinion based on observation from multiple countries I've travelled to, a highly regulated market is the the better opinion for everyone,* The Sex Worker:Safer work environment, medical checks, paying tax, legal Income that will help let them utilize home loans, and other services they cannot Access.* The Clients: less unlikely to be scammed, less health risks, safe business dealings, * The Pubic who are not sex workers or clients: Less of a tax burden in policing, If Legal in a highly regulated system one can legalise zoning districts and isolate the activity to certain areas which are easier to monitor
Why do you think I need to change your mind? You believe what you do, and who am I to try to change you?I QUESTION this topic, because, as the reverent, honorable George Carlin, once asked: "Why is it illegal to pay for something you can give away, for FREE?"Why is 'Prostitution' an issue? If a woman wants to have casual sex, why shouldn't she?Why does it matter, that the guy 'tips' her, for services performed? HOW IS IT DIFFERENT THAN A WAITRESS OR BARTENDER?
Change my mind.
Why should I bother trying? I couldn't really give to shakes of a limp dick what you think, because I don't know you, so why do I care what you think? Also, I don't think that a person should try to change another's opinion. It's not my place to tell you what to think. I only share my opinions, when asked, but I have no need to change you, or expect you to believe what I do. Why should I?
I just don't think there is a way to totally eliminate it. If it is going to exist I think there should be safeguard for the ADULT people who are doing it. Free testing available, safe environments for them and hard prosecution for people who abuse them and harsh punishments for people involved using minors in the business. I don't think it really is something anyone should be doing but what we are doing now isn't working either. Sex workers have to be provided more protection.
The main intention is to cut the underground profits at the pass in a safer way with regulations. Basically people will pay for sex let's be smart about it. If there is more legal safer standardize options the illegal prostitution don't have a leg to stand on with the same crime punishment. Then there is pursuing the crime to achieving the intended safety of the community. Is the john getting arrested making the area safer? not really. Is arresting the person selling their body for sex makeing the area safer? I would argue even less then the john. It's the people makeing the profits who are the most dangerous and the question is how to stop them even before they do the crime? because that's a lot of collateral damage towards people without any regulation for this crime. How you do that in a capitalist economy you cut them off at the pass with legal channels.
Prostitution should only be legal if it's strictly controlled by the state. Then women and men have regular checkups and are housed in state monitored houses where cleanliness standards are enforced and safe sex is too. It's been done in Denmark and other places successfully. But only under those narrow circumstances.
Since it's illegal all kinds of child sex slaves, etc. exist. If it was more open and available, prices would be regulated, and more than likely, cheaper. People would have better experiences. Both sides would be safer. It would be a job, not a disastrous life. With benefits, 401Ks, etc.
I don't really see the benefit of keeping it illegal. I mean prostitution still happens on the streets and pimps can do whatever they want with the hos. I think by making it legal it would be much better for sex workers cause they won't be standing on the cold streets. Not to mention if you have your own facility you can monitor the customers and you know for sure the ho is not stealing from you.
Pornography is more damaging to society as a whole and many women engage in whorish behavior anyways, having sex with high status men for promotions, elevation of status, etcSo prostitution should be legalized and porn should be illegal
Why do you think porn is more dangerous?
It's free, easily accesible, extremely perverted, and normalized It's re-wires the male brain and isolates them
How does it re-wire the male brain?
Your brain recognizes the pattern of pornography and release of dopamine caused by orgasmIt puts these two togetherIts why there is such thing as porn induced ED where men only get horny from watching pornography
If it is legal you can put procedures in place to ensure the safety of the girls. If they consent nobody gets harmed but you need proper checks, alarm buttons, etc. And that can only happen when it is legalized. This is why we condone it in the netherlands since it drives down illegal demand significantly.
Prostitutes are the last women on earth that need men. I think prostitutes should have the same rights as non-prostitute women that get paid for sex either by dating or by getting married/divorced. Why shouldn't the prostitutes be allowed to get paid for the same said sex.
I’m in the middle on this, i get that that person should be the one who decides on what to do with their life, I’m also aware that prostitution isn’t a good way to live in.
Its not illegal in the civilised world.Presumably you are from some backward thinking country full of religious extremists.
You have not changed my mind.
Well, that was obvious from the beginning, you dont want you mind changed.
I need an argument not an insult:"Its not illegal in the civilised world.Presumably you are from some backward thinking country full of religious extremists. "This is an insult not an argument.
Of course it is, but it is also a rejection of your premise. All reasonable forms of law hold to the idea that a person is innocent and until proven guilty, so we can extend from that and say that things are legal until it is proven that they should be illegal.Since the legality of prostitution is not the same everywhere the onus is really very much on you to demonstrate that it should be illegal.Thats how argument works, the burden of proof lies with the claimant, you are the claimant.I dont have to do a god dam thing to win this argument, you have no interest in listening or learning anyway so why shouldn't i spend my time mocking your ignorance instead?
I do not have any onus to do anything at all. You have not offered me any reasons as to why I should change my mind. I am not looking to win or lose an argument. I am looking for some one to change my mind. The purpose of this is to see who can change my mind. You have not offered any reasons as to why I should change my mind. You should know that in an argument you don't attack the person but you did that from the get go saying I am "from some backward thinking country full of religious extremists." I am looking for arguments as to why prostitution should be legal.
If you dont even understand how argument works, what hope is there?
Are you going to offer an argument as to why prostitution should legal or are you going to continue to beat around the bush?Put your cards on the table man and state an argument as to why prostitution should be legal.
You dont have an argument..
Then give me yours.
I have skimmed the thread, the information you need is there, if you haven't got it by now you won't ever get it and thats your problem not mine.
Perhaps your argument is different than the other users.
Not really, it isn't complicated. What someone else does is none of your business.Prostitution is the oldest trade in the world and it will exist whether it is illegal or not as it always has. When its legal though people aren't punished for doing thier jobs and they can do thier jobs more safely and they become tax payers. The only arguements for illegality are based on religious dogma or the incorrect belief that it somehow protects the sex workers, it doesn't, it hurts them.
No consensual sex between adults should be illegalPlus you are an authoritarian asshole who hates freedom
Oh how I missed you so.
You missed meHow cute lol
Who should have control over what you do with your body: politicians or you?Do you trust politicians more than yourself?Should prostitutes on camera be jailed like prostitutes off camera?
If regulated well it would crack down on humam trafficing making it more difficult for trafficers to sell the people they take
Adults have the right to decide what they want to do with their bodies. If this includes offering their genitals for the exchange of money, and both parties consent to the transaction, it’s none of the government’s business.
Why do you think it should be illegal as opposed to regulated? It's a consesual transaction between z adults that doesn't damage either party.
Donald never would have met Melania had prostitution been discouraged.
How is your mom supposed to pay the bills?
You sir , are a genius.
