For example you see a homeless woman steal an apple to feed her starving child. (For the sake of the example no you cannot buy/give the food for the mother and child) do you say/do anything or do you turn a blind eye.

Let's say it's back in the 1800s pre Civil War and you see a run away slave do you turn them in? Help them escape? Pretend like you saw nothing?
