Everything you said is true. Also, the amount of pollution caused by all of these things put together is FAR less than what the coal and oil industries produce, and what internal combustion engines put out.

All that said, an interesting academic debate is raging on about the link between corporate environmental performance and corporate financial performance. There is actually academic literature to suggest that investing in pollution abatement by corporations is actually beneficial to their financial performance. But I am sure that will be further developed over the years, it could be of great significance to how companies try to deal with their responsibility on pollution and how they tackle it
