That’s true about it being relative
So it’s based off income?
The perception of class on the US is complex, and it depends on the viewer. I know people with class but little money, and people with money but no class. But the phrase "upper middle. class" generally is about income. "Having class" is d about behaviour and education (whether formal or self-taught).
Ok I’m trying to figure out where I fall bc my parents were/are never very vocal about our economic status and don’t ever talk about money
We don’t own more houses than the one we live in but we do have lots of other things. I just don’t know how to tell which category I’m in
Do you have a house manager? Aka butler?
Lol no. We do have more cars than the average household and a few other things
No you’re just middle class
Unless you own an airplane
So then if upper middle class is to the extent you’re talking about what is rich
I think you’re more describing being rich. I was asking about upper middle class
Upper middle class would be like owning a vacation home or a few properties or a small jet. Rich is like owning collectible cars like antique rolls Royces and your own commercial size airplane and owning malls and corporations.
