I also had blonde hair as a kid and my hair also turned darker with age. I'm not even white and I don't feel the compulsion to bleach it. Rather I love how my darker hair now contrasts with my skin.
If it were today when I was young I would have just let my hair transition to gray which is now. Actually I"m silver/blonde. But back then going gray was sort of considered unacceptable. I'm glad it is different now. I talked my daughter into growing her hair out from highlights. She caved and put blonde highlights in. She now wants to dye it close to her natural color again. It's mostly the cost of doing it and keeping up the highlights but I think she realized her natural hair color wasn't that bad.
No, I actually don't. And no, it's not just because I can't tell.
Where do you live?
It's full of blondes.

The majority? Nah. If anything they'd just dye it but most girls have genuinely natural hair.
Dying blonde is another common thing.
They do including the Hollywood actresses.
