Yea, but people keep living there. Companies keep starting there. I guess they think it's worth it.
@NearlyNapping whether is super nice all year round too.
I know. I spent quite a few years out there. Mostly Sacramento, but also a short while in the Bay Area and Monterey. I left Sacramento when the rent for a fairly nice 1 bedroom hit 500. I could have made a LOT more money down in Silicon Valley, but it just wasn't worth it because of the costs, traffic, etc.It wasn't for me, but the bottom line is that people are there by choice.
@NearlyNapping what year was that? I'm seeing $1500, $2000 on Google right now. I'm in interior Alaska and $600 rent gets a dry cabin. You have to go outside in -40 below to shit in a hole. Fucking hell. I pay $830 for 530 square feet condo right next to an army base and hear revelry every morning.
I should have said i own the fucking place and pay a mortgage. I don't even understand what $500 rent being called a place to live.
I moved in 2000. Sacramento was always very cheap compared to the Bay Area or SoCal. In the early 90s you could still buy a brand new house for under 100K. I know in the first few years after I moved it started to really skyrocket.Where I live now in Ohio, I can rent an apartment for under 500 without going to a complete crap part of town. There are other states that are cheaper than here. You can rent a nice 3-4 bedroom house in the nicest suburb for 1200-1500. If you don't want anything too fancy or real big, you can buy a house in the nicest suburb for under 100K if you look around.
I should say that the priced spiked this year because of a tornado that wiped out a lot of housing, or made it temporarily unlivable. When you suddenly have a few thousand people looking for new housing, it causes a spike like I've never seen happen here before. It already started to drop a little toward the end of the summer, and I'm hoping it goes back to normal next spring.
@NearlyNapping so you understand prices better then most. I like to think I'm smarter then most of my age group. You seem better at answering your own question.
It doesn’t and it’s more hidden
It’s like in your face like nyc at all
Probably because the winter they go inside places making it seem worse than California also
