Alice in Wonderland= A bad acid trip, right? Excellent analogy mr professor.
Wasn’t it the Jefferson airplane that wrote the song about that?
Usually, anything involving Mr. Trump is like a bad acid trip. Nature of the beast. As to the Jefferson Airplane origins, I was not aware of them if there was any. However, if I have stumbled upon musical greatness, I can live with that. Thanks, as ever, for your very kind comments.
..."So for an impeachment investigation to be official, the House must vote on a motion to instruct the relevant committees to conduct an investigation. This then allowing the committees expanded subpoena powers to override Executive privilege - and also in the process granting the minority, in this case the Republicans, such powers."This is exactly WHY the WH is forcing Pelosi's hand - to either put up or shut up. They're telling the Speaker of the House, you're either going through with this formally or we're not going to participate in your stupid liberal game. I use the word "game" on purpose because this is precisely what Democrats are doing right now - playing games, to placate those that cane to Congress with the sole purpose of, "We're going to impeach the Motherf*cker!" Those Democrats with ANY sense left in them, KNOW there's really nothing there to impeach the President. This is ultimately going to blow up in the faces of the Democrats.
@Goforit1010 Impeachment is a political and not a legal judgement. As former President Ford - then a Member of the House - put it, "The grounds for impeachment is whatever the Congress says that they are." Indeed, in that sense, it is sort of the equivalent of a "no confidence motion" in a parliamentary system. Albeit one that is held to a somewhat higher standard.President Clinton was guilty of perjury and obstruction of justice. It is why he lost his Arkansas law license and was disbarred and paid a tidy sun of cash to Ms. Lewinsky. Yet the country did not think the cause of the violation of law sufficient and so it yawned and Mr. Clinton, though impeached by the House, was not convicted by the Senate. In this, by the way, the country has reaped what it sewed. Indeed, a trouble with truth telling, petty scandals, sex with women not his wife. Mr. Trump looks like no one so much as the husband of the woman he defeated to become President. At any rate, yes, Speaker Pelosi does not want a vote because it will hurt her moderate Members. That is politically sensible. However, that does not mean, given the wide swath that the House has under the Constitution, that she could not impeach him.Indeed, as an aside, while I would not impeach Mr. Trump, and while, as I noted above, he can make a case for his actions, it is worth noting that he could have avoided all this had he just kept his mouth shut. It was perfectly reasonable that he asked what he did of Ukraine's leader. It was not necessary and the same goals could have been accomplished without it.In this, I have very little sympathy for Mr. Trump. All the while noting the illogic and hypocrisy on the Democrat's side. Their indifference to former VP Biden's obvious conflicts of interest, and the appearance of same, being notable. Here I offer - under my "Nightdrot" nom de guerre - my observations on Mr. Trump's many, many failings. What do you think about our president? ↗CONT.
Mr. Trump is obscenely inarticulate and is by no means respectful of the spirit of the law, even if he meets its requirements technically. He is content to pour salt in the social wounds and he has destroyed the legacy of Reagan conservatism.By no means do I believe that he should be impeached. However, I cannot say I would shed tears over his departure.
Type-o:This quote: "The grounds for impeachment is whatever the Congress says that they are."Should read: "The grounds for impeachment ARE whatever the Congress says that they are."My apologies to former President Ford.
I agree with nearly everything you mentioned. I like what Trump is accomplishing in general, but there are too many times he needs to just STFU! He could save himself, his followers, and his administration, volumes of bad press if he didn't open his mouth.
@Goforit1010 Yup. I fully subscribe to the wisdom of former President Calvin Coolidge, who once said, "I have never been hurt by what I have not said."Wiser words were seldom spoken.
There’s beeen some wild hypothesis, that Pelosi ends up potus😂🤣😅😅. It’s a wild “what if” scenarios that I saw on cnn... it’s ludicrous, but we’ve seen that before, only to realize it happens, regardless of how ludicrous.
Thanks for the MHO.

Do you really think there’s evidence enough to unseat the potus? To un-do an election is serious, do you think it’s justified?
Yes, they have enough evidence to get him for violating the emoluments clause and even for so heavily involving us in the genocide taking place in Yemen. I think even Obama and Bush should have been but I guess we’ve embraced a longstanding tradition of lawless presidents unless their corruption becomes weaponized for partisan purposes in the two party system.
So, not all thing are done just because you CAN do them, the question is SHOULD you do it? Just bc in your mind, it’s possible and you think it’s legal but does it really rise to the level of un-doing a legitimate election? I always thought you were a reasonable guy. You are now betraying my first impression of you. Anyone who thinks this potus should be removed is not being fair- at all. Imho
For the country I think it matters to put your foot down and impeach these criminals cycling through the white house. The primary processes of both parties is rigged and the American people largely didn’t vote for Clinton or Trump, but rather against them in differing numbers. I don’t see much wrong with impeaching these criminal presidents who assumed their nomination status fraudulently in the first place. That last election was anything but sacred.
I get it, you’d rather proceed just bc you think neither candidate rose to the expectations you have. Guess what. You only have 1 vote, and there’s 63 million voters who disagreed with you. Now you say it’s ok to unseat him with nonsense? Good luck.
Flagrant abuses of the constitution and even international laws aren’t ‘nonsense’. We need to show these drone striking, Saudi dealing, Israel fellating, phone tapping fucks that there are legal and professional consequences for their actions. George W. Bush is a war criminal, he tortured people and rounded up innocents in Guantanamo Bay by paying Afgan warlords to turn in members of Al Queda only to have them hand over personal enemies. He should have been impeached and put in prison. Trump is not special, Obama is not special, these fucks won fixed elections where Americans with the illusion of choice picked which criminal would fuck them over sweeter. You don’t even have a vote if the process to create the options in a binary choice is this corrupted with special interests and monetary ties.
@MexicoMan- really?😳😳😳😳 And you, of course, have proof of all that, right? You should immediately contact your local FBI officials and let them know. Because they’ve been looking for that for a while, but to no avail, apparently. All those “fixed” elections, voters rights denied, etc etc, May or May not be true, I personally don’t know🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️ My point is that when you rattle off all that at one tim, most common people will just shrug your words off bc you are perceived to be just another nut case. 😅😂🤣😳
I noticed that... but it’s happening anyway. The Dems are unaware of their situation apparently. They are doing a hit job, it’s been clear since his inauguration.
Well someone needs to tell the speaker that. She apparently thinks otherwise, and she’s the one that counts.
The house IS Congress, half of it. Precedence was the motto of the Dems so many times, especially when it comes to Roe v Wade. The hypocrisy this time, is par for the course. Every other impeachment- were serious. They began with a vote in the house- to proceed. This s only political theatre- a Broadway Production. It will end badly for the Dems. 🎉💥☄️
I would not hold my breath.
