I see the point, but...There is always a queston in politics. Idealism vs realism. Part of this seems to be her own frustration with what is happening. If she can't deal with this, then she shouldn't be running for office. Right or wrong, you have to deal with reality, not with what should or should not be.So is she simply making a statement? Maybe. Or maybe it's just her venting. If she's making a statement, what good will it do? If it's her own moral compass speaking, then I respect her for that. But politics is what it is. It's always been a very nasty business throughout history. That's not going to change. So either you jump in with the sharks and fight or you stand aside. If you fight, the best you can hope for is that you will make the tiniest bit of difference.
Tulsi is a military veterean, a woman, non-white, non-Christian who believes in America the perfect candidate for the dems in 2020 but she's made enemies of the DNC, Clinton's and obamas she never stood a chance. The DNC has already designated Elizabeth Warren as their candidate and biden is a place filler as is Sanders. The media campaign against her is very telling.
Against. If she wants to spread the message about the rigging of the game, she'll get more heard IN the debates, rather than outside.
Totally agree, not showing up at the debates will give people the impression she didn't qualify, plus she needs to be on that debate stage to KO Warren just like Harris.
It sounds like she is low in the polls, and blames the media, instead of her message and her campaign.
The media is partly to blame, all they do is smear her, she gets more smears than all the other candidates combined. ABC news painted her as being supported by Russians, even after their claims were debunked and proven false, ABC still pushed the narrative she was supported by Russians. She's low in the polls cause they are rigged and she has little name recognition. At this point in the race, the candidates with the best name recognition (among people 60+) are highest in the polls.
Ilorando: Name recognition is very important for any candidate. If people don't know you, they don't support you or vote for you. One of the best ways to get name recognition, is to show up for national TV debates. Of course, with as many people running for the Democrats as there are, it makes it very difficult to stand out from the pack.
Likely the end of her campaign. Then again she hasn't been given a fair chance by the left.
I doubt it's the end of her campaign, she stated she's staying in the race all the way to the convention. Polling low at this point doesn't mean much as Bill Clinton was also polling below 2% at this point in the race. She's the Bernie Sanders of 2020, only she's being attacked/smeared much worse. Even Republicans (establishment) don't wan't her getting the Dem nomination as she posses the biggest threat to Trump.
I like Tulsi but there are a few issues with this. First not being in the debate means no publicity. She will not be reaching anyone new that doesn't already know what she stands for. I have seen candidates come from no where to become a front runner but when Clinton was running there wasn't almost a full year of debates leading up to the first primary. Most candidates will also say there in it for the long haul we hear it every election cycle but if the votes aren't there I don't see anyone running much after Super Tuesday. Of course Republicans don't because she is the closest thing we have seen to a centrist in some time.
She is running as a moderate-liberal in a party that has been taken over by Socialists and Bolsheviks. I was hoping that she could restore her party to the sanity of the rank and file Democrats of Middle America, but no such luck. The Coastal Nutcases have won the day.
As stupid as the debates are, I don’t see this working in her favor.
I don't either, as it will give viewers the idea she didn't qualify for the debate. Was really hoping for her to KO Warren during the debate.
Well, she IS better than all the candidates the media focuses on. Tulsi Gabbard and Marianne Williamson are the only sane democrats on the list.
I support her because the DNC is corrupt to its very core.
I kinda don't support her boycotting the debate, she needs to call out the corruption on stage, simply not showing up, people will get the impression she failed to qualify for the debate.
So it was just a publicity stunt then?
I bet that is music to Kamala Harris' ears
Most likely is, she is also most likely breathing a sigh of relief. She never did recover from the second debate. Tulsi really needs to change her mind, she needs to be on the debate to KO Warren.
She would definitely be able to do it. Tulsi is badass.
