You make a very good point. What was a high ranking Iranian general doing in Iraq ( yes probably rhetorical). But the question has to be asked, so we can justify the attack. I'm glad to dee the media digging into who Solemeini was. Helps with the credibilitu.
I think we can justify it... as long as Iraqi's don't come out and say "but he was visiting and we were negotiating". And I doubt they say that because they know the consequences... even if it was true. So yes, we justify it. But I feel for Iranians, no matter what, that looks and feels bad, a slap in the face, dishonorable.. and who knows how their media spins it. Like USA, they are generally decent people who just want to live life.. in an inperfect culture of course. It is governments and power that is the conflict... and the conflict is nukes in the middle east. I agree with USA... they can't have them at any cost... we invented them, they can't have them. Do that... Iraq has them, Iran has them, pakistan already does... Yemen gets one, some nut job gets one... they will blow each other up. They are fine doing that in the streets... the general killed many americans with roadside bombs and RPG's and human bombs. I don't know the end game on this, but I think it is a very large ball of fire... which is good for noone and we end up throwing sticks and stones again like 10k years ago.. but in a high radiation environment. God help us all, lets try to work out our differences...
I'll agree with this assessment.

You really think it's that bad? The only real problem i see is, you need to be able to defend your actions to tbe world community. I mean Iran may engage in terrorism but it's through proxy wars. So even though everyone knows they have blood on their hands it's harder to pin acts on them. The United States on the other hand we're a superpower so any act of aggression we take is considered us bullying. Regardless of what precipitated it.
Oh this is fucking afoul. Iran is a very aggressive country and they will probably start a war over this and its a war they intend to win. Iran is by no means a pushover and they will make USA hurt, badly.
Well i see two Iran's the militant hardliners. And the moderate middle class. Would this be enough to turn the Iranian middle xkass against the United States for war. Also all out war with the United States would mean the end of Iran. It's not Iran we have to worry about it's the fallout from a war with Iran.
Specifically i'm talking about Russia and China.
Yes I think it will be enough to spark war. Perhaps it will just begin with their own retaliation but this will simply just escalate.
Why would they start a war they cannot possibly win because 1 guy, and not even the Ayatollah or some guy like that, was killed?Iranian leaders may be aggressive and radical, but I doubt they’d start a war against 1) a military force that outclasses them in every single conceivable way with a very large margin and 2) all of NATO
@tartaarsaus Why would they start a war they could not possibly win? Because its Iran. Have you not been paying attention? That is not to mention that a lot of war mongers in the Republican party is also pushing for war with Iran so they are only too happy to meet midway.
Well, I have been paying attention. It seems pretty obvious to me that the Iranians may be radical, but not suicidal.I mean, their response to Israelis stealing their nuclear secrets, often executing Iranian scientists, stuxnet, constant Israeli bombing of Iranian assets in Syria so far has been a few missile attacks with insignificant consequences for Israel.
@tartaarsaus Iran is backed into a corner. They bet on building a nuke to protect themselves followed by Iranian nuclear deal but both of them failed. They will not simply meekly back down.
That will always be the case when you're the worlds lone superpower, the brightest beacon of freedom and hope for the world to see.
I think thats a big fat lie.
And you're allowed to think that, it doesn't hurt anything. But ignoring reality doesn't change reality.
Not having proper healthcare and claiming to be a superpower nation. You are deluded man.
I have proper healthcare what are you talking about? Now our healthcare system in terms getting what you pay for and transoatency needs work that i'll agree with. But that wasn't the conversation. Lol
You can't be a superpower nation and not have a healthcare system that helps all your citizens. USA is dictated entirely by the market and what's good for it. Your existence is dictated by economism and nothing else.
