Does it ever seem like Libertarians often claim that they have a perception of the political landscape not "clouded by partisan bias"?

Here in the US I've noticed many libertarians claim that when looking at disputes between the main political parties (Republican vs Democrat), they are seeing it from a "third party perspective" and don't have "a dog in this fight" so there perspective is much clearer. This is of course complete nonsense because even if they aren't part of the primary American right, they are still on the right side of the political spectrum.
Does it ever seem like Libertarians often claim that they have a perception of the political landscape not "clouded by partisan bias"?
