If it was originally equality then it shouldn't be named the feminism also known as a gendered movement otherwise there only demonstrating inequality. And that's what people THOUGHT feminism was originally about.
You worded it better than I did, but the point remains the same.
"had less" They were basically equal back then but now is just the time they got more rights. There never really was a need for feminism.
@Aiko_E_Lara that's just not true. They weren't "basically equal" back then. Women couldn't vote. They couldn't do certain things without permission from their husband. They were discriminated against when it came to things like employment and education. They were clearly treated worse than men.
"Women couldn't vote. They couldn't do certain things without permission from their husband." <-- To counter act yourself being so one sided just because they couldn't vote or drive, It's technically the choice of majority of women while men have to vote and learn to drive. Because there were also men who didn't want to vote and drive also because technology and the systems were crappy back then like no online services for voting and cars were so manual that takes a lot of work to operate. It's technology and better system that made them free. Things just got easier that women do things outside of their homes and men can finally have more rest time. It has nothing to do with oppression. But i know it would be a lie to say women weren't 100% oppressed. I know there were women oppressed but so there were men too.
Also with men having to vote and be the bread winner, it wasn't even easy and wives are just excused not to work.
These days women can finally drive with automatic cars, use elevators, vote online and work in an office/online, hair stylists, baby sitter or whatever choice they want now that this era is no longer the industrial age but really it's men behind those comfort we all have these days. They also have the choice to work as a coal miner, power plant engineers, military personnel, factory worker, sewer cleaners, etc. but you still see less women in that work zone because they have to be treated like men and sign a contract for it. It's change and development that made both gender's life easier.
@Aiko_E_Lara If women didn't want to do things like vote or drive, we would have never seen things like the women's suffrage movement. Women wanted to have the same opportunities that men did, even if it was harder.
AKA a movement made by self pity. There's something you should learn about how our brain is hardwired. The women suffrage movement you're talking about, if men are able to express like women, they can make men suffrage movements too knowing it's pointless for both genders. Also before you start straw manning, I'm talking about majority of women not all women. It's just now women are free to do stuff and they still have a choice to drive or not. I'll also tell you that there are women who don't drive even these days.
I still wanna ask you tho. Why do you think there are still more men driving, working in the industrial zone and being the bread winners? Why do you think there are still a lot of house wives? I mean they have the choice these days. It's basically like "We want equality" also "we want special treatment" because that's not how the real world works.
I'd say it's because some women don't want to drive or work in the industrial zone or even be a bread winner.
Well a lot of women drive now because cars are getting more developed, working as an industrial worker still requires you to do it the old fashion way and that's why MOST women don't work there which is also basically the main work place back then. Oh sure you said "They have to ask permission to their husband" you say? Well no body told them to get one. They can stay single and work like men.
The fact that most women don't work in the industrial field, doesn't mean that they shouldn't have the right to. And women were told to get a husband. They were literally taught that they had to get married and be a housewife.
Also the fact that most men want to work in an industrialized field doesn't really mean that they have to be forced. They were literally thought that they had to get married to be a housewife by the matriarchy. That is if you are so one-sided about the situation. And i am not even going to pretend that small jobs didn't exist back then. www.historycrunch.com/.../
Also because they were taught to marry a man for the benefits. But still if they don't want the benefits they can work while being single for the rest of their lives. And what is also wrong with marrying a man? It's kind of like you're saying that men and women aren't compatible and it is possible to populate the earth without them being engaged?
By the way looking for a mate has nothing to do with being taught. Seems like you don't know biology and basic human instincts.
That isn't what I'm saying at all. I'm just saying that people shouldn't be forced to do something they don't want to do.
And sure you are not saying that "feminism was needed" and also not saying that "women had less rights" right? Because that's what's the whole argument is about now you're trying to change topic to "forced"
Also whoever said they should be?
I am saying feminism was needed and women did have less rights. I'm not trying to change the topic. You're just misinterpreting what I'm saying.
I thought "all" you're saying is no one should be forced? Change your sentence structure to make more sense. Ok then if you're saying feminism was needed them masclulinism was too. You're almost proving the double standard and inequality men faced.
Also yes in your propaganda they have less rights. It's such a privilege for men to have a higher death rate and suicide rate compared to women even back then.
But you're still gonna talk about average of the world, it's technically pointless to be either of those movements. You can't say "I was a feminist yesterday because mom got raped" or "I was a masculinist last week because my dad got sued for being accused"
That's why I said to go with egalitarian in any place where there aren't outstanding issues only affecting one sex.
