China has the highest number of Covid-19 cases and deaths, stop buying into fake media, and trusting the word of all places china is pretty stupid. Look at the amount of urn sales and sheet wood coffin sales in china, they have sold more than they ever have in history. China is a communistic regime, of course they are covering it up. Anyone with common sense could figure that out, like come on.
Considering people can die from a lot more than just COVID-19 I'm hardly going to use stats relating to urn sales to determine who has the most deaths. The point is America reopening and letting their over 500,000 cases of COVID-19 just walk around like there's not some deadly virus going around is in no way beneficial for anyone.
I agree with you but I guess the decision comes not mainly concern for the health of the population but more for the economy. As the ecnonomy can't be in locked down for months and months otherwise it be a disaster. I also believe the lockdown should be prolonged maybe just more weeks. But I believe if they want to lif the lock down it is for the conomy not even for health reasons.
we tested more is why
@Gsm24diecast yes, they had millions die and millions more infected
The US has the highest number because they have the 3rd largest population in the world. The two higher populations are China and India.China obviously has bullshit numbers. Reports of crematoriums working around the clock and thousands of urns being brought in far in excess of the deaths they claim. Yeah, they ain't fooling anyone. And India locked up like crazy early, but only now is it spreading around. Only in the last 2-3 weeks has their outbreak taken off. Their numbers are lower because it hit the US before them.Compared to other countries hit hard the US deaths have been lower. The mortality rate is lower because their healthcare system has done well. They're doing better than Italy, Spain, Sweden, Netherlands, etc.In Australia we are doing well, the majority of our cases are from overseas contact, our community spread has been low. Our recovery rate is higher than our infection rate, so it's reasonable to be thinking about lifting some restriction soon. The NT has had no new cases in 10 days, they should definitely be thinking about lifting some restrictions and just being careful about interstate interactions.
@AllThatSweetJazz But not in the USA they want to re open and look how many deaths
@kitty71 We have to think about opening because we're doing well. But they have to think about opening because they have to, people need access to the economy and not having that can be even worse than the virus. They need to figure a compromise because simply staying inside with hard lockdowns is hurting people too.
@hartttttt yeah because it’s pretty normal for millions of cremations to take place within 2 months.Let’s talk about how the doctors that were warning people about this are going missing one by one in China. Stop lying to yourself, China is the problem, not the United States. Their are more poverty rated areas in the United States than Australia, hence why people need to work, care about your own country and stop spreading propaganda, as most people from Australia do.
@Gsm24diecast The person who asked the question asked whether America should be reopened, not who the problem is. Considering the statistics that have been recorded are saying the US currently has 700,000 known cases of COVID-19, by allowing them to reopen the whole damn country will end up with the virus but by all means go ahead and reopen. I highly doubt any other country would let you visit after doing so.
@gsm24diecast you stated that the United States has the most deaths and cases, we don’t, China does, that’s the fact. I don’t care what the question is about, stop spreading lies.
I'm not spreading lies though. The US has the most cases recorded. I may have neglected to mention the recorded part in my original opinion but it still stands that the US has the highest number recorded. China isn't one to be honest so obviously their stats aren't going to change. But either way the US still has one of the highest death tolls due to this virus. Whether China has more or less doesn't change the fact that America's count is still incredibly high.
@Harttttt China definitely has hundreds of thousands if not millions dead by now, the majority of people dying in the us are 83% Elderly, and people with severe problems that already existed before having covid19.The world media and The Bullshit W. H. O. Blew this way more up than it needed to be, they sparked panic among every country, not just the United States. Hun if you think the other countries such as Russia, North Korea, don’t have more than the United States, then wow.Doesn’t matter if it’s on the record or on the statistic board. We aren’t the highest affected by a long shot.
0.06% mortality rate.Nothing to be concerned about.
@gotc147 Yea, they said millions of Americans would die , stay in doors , stay away from people
@Gsm24diecast I live in China. Never saw the virus. Don't know anyone who knows anyone who got it. Four people total in our foreign-owned company which employs tens of thousands got the virus, and all were based in Hubei and all recovered. Your common sense was based on valid premises, but didn't come to the correct conclusion. China is an authoritarian country (not really communist, even though it claims to be, most European countries are more "communist" than China, in some metrics the United States is too). It was very easy for them to track and control the flow of people, so in this particular instance, living under an authoritarian regime worked out in the Chinese people's favor. Also, Chinese people weren't really out in the streets. Almost all businesses were closed. Walmart was the only place I know of that I could actually walk into. Looked like I Am Legend outside. I believe international regulatory bodies will back me up on this, and also Trump's past-statements, although he's claiming now that he never said them, but China was actually incredibly transparent about this whole affair in a refreshing change of tone. It's our country, the good ole' US of A, with the bad count, because the testing kits got fumbled so bad. And also entitled idiots who can't bear the thought of being inconvenienced and slept through science class, but still think they know everything are much more common there. And denialism and distrust of people who do know what they are talking about has become an ingrained part of a culture unfortunately, since anyone with an education or who can articulate clearly is seen as "elitist". In our country one person's ignorance is put on the same level as someone else's expertise, and this results in a lot of people who think they know everything. Also, stop being condescending. You based your opinion in even less than the original commenter did. "Common sense" is not evidence. "Common sense" is often "common non-sense".
@Gsm24diecast China has under 100,000 confirmed cases, and they swabbed EVERYBODY. Even me as a foreigner had to go to a government checkpoint and be tested on two different occasions. The United States has over 700K and counting, so I don't know where you got that "fact", but it's wrong. The United States has many many more cases than China.
@Gsm24diecast You said, "Doesn’t matter if it’s on the record or on the statistic board. We aren’t the highest affected by a long shot." If it's not recorded, then how do you know that? You're just inventing your own reality based on intuition at that point, which isn't very reliable.
@WhistleForTheChoir so you believe everything that China says or does? You’re an idiot, be gone.
@Gsm24diecast No, I don't believe China, they lie all the time, and with all the chaos caused by this thing, it's impossible that they have accurate statistics, even if they fully meant to. And they don't mean to, their news here is non-stop propaganda. But I do believe what I've seen with my own two eyes. The lockdown here ended the first week of March. It's over here, nothing is happening. I live in a city of 7 million people, hospitals are normal, no one is panicking. Just a lot of masks.I think the problem is that you only believe what you WANT to believe. It's not based on the opinions of experts or statistics for damn-sure, you fully admitted that. But it's not really based on your own experiences either. It's based on your "common sense", which is not shared by everyone else, so I guess it's not that "common".
@888theGreat The United States did not test more than China, I guarantee you that.
@WhistleForTheChoir China never tells the truth to us or their people. I talk to women on Asian site and they live in another world , they go by what their one party Gov't tells them and they are not allowed on Western internet sites. They oppress their people and it is the model Socialist Democrats in US like.
@888theGreat I'm currently living in China, so I might have a little bit more first-hand experience with this than you. And yeah, a lot of what you say is true: the internet is censored here, people just repeat whatever the party line is, etc. However, that doesn't have anything to do with testing. The Chinese gov tested pretty completely. I had to go to a government check-point and have two swabs done in a month.
@888theGreat So it's mandatory testing for everybody. So what you originally said, "we tested more" is not true. The fact is that our numbers are probably much higher, because we don't have enough tests unlike every other developed nation on Earth.
@AllThatSweetJazz You are doing well? Yeah right How well are you doing? Well According to stats USA now is the country that has more deaths in the world, Italyu¿ comes in Second and Spain in 3rdl. How is that well?
@kitty71 In absolute numbers, we have a population of 330,000,000.Per capita we're doing quite well.
@gotc147 Only Italy and Spain have a higher per capita infection rate, and those countries are much more densely populated than the United states is.
Yeah but even people who have no underlying condition can get really sick and die and even asthma is considered as high risk. While they're some people that have gotten the virus and have had bearable to no symptoms, you don't know if you'll be one of those lucky people until you have it and at that point you would've been carrying it around and spreading it to other people.
It's obviously horrible for those who get very sick, but people get the same complications from the flu
The number of Americans who have had it needs to be something like 300 times the current test cases to have herd immunity. So death rates would quadruple or more on the way there, assuming that number is right, and it’s on the high end (with lower end estimates guessing there may be 10 for every known case.
We also need to keep in mind that we're staying home in part to keep from overloading our healthcare infrastructure. If cases quadruple overnight, that'll overload our healthcare system. Which means substantially more deaths across the board, for COVID-19 cases and everything else.
We have a vaccine for flu. That's a major difference. Flu has been around for 100 years at least but this virus is new. It basically jumped from animal ( pangolin) to human. It mutates unpredictably and we have no way of telling how it will affect the next person it infect. A carrier might be symptomless but he or she can infect someone who will die of complications.

There's going to have to be a compromise. Harvard and MIT for a while now have been saying that there will need to be oscillating social distancing for 18-24 months. Two months on, one month off, that sort of thing. That's a very reasonable approach and it's so weird to see people go "Orange man bad! Authoritarian lockdown now!" The irony of once decrying Trump as tyrannical and likening him to Nazis, but now whining because he's *not authoritarian enough* has not gone unnoticed. Take a moment to hear the other side.
That would be great if people would practice social distancing but they just don't or at least not in Texas.
I was so upset i missed spelled graph. I'm I'm sorry.
I woukd say it's because Trump Tweeted for the People to uphold their Second Amendment Right which was trlling them to form a Militia, unlike the First Amendment that states right to Peacrful Protest!!! They formed a Militia
Nearly all atrocities throughout history started as measures put in place for the peoples benefit.
@gotc147 okay but are you trying to say you’re against the lockdown?
Yes I am.
@gotc147 so you want the virus to spread.. ok.
The virus has been spreading, it spread completely uninhibited for four months before we started "social distancing". Even now, these "social distancing" measures are just illusions of safety. It's not that I want it to spread, it's just that it has been spreading and there is no realistic way to stop it.
Man your spelling is giving me a headache 🤕...
Because you are good looking, guys just can't stay 6 feet away from you. I can't say I blame them
@888theGreat "BLUSHES" 🙊🤯😵
I'm from New York with the highest cases in America. I might go there for the summer to try to get away from so many cases out here.
How can you be so ignorant? Thinking about civil liberties when we are in a serious situation of Pandemia? This isn’t about liberty but about saving lives and the economy even not even about dictatorship? How can Americans be so ignorants when political leaders just want us to be inside so that we could prevent the spread and open the country to avoid the economy from crashing and all you’re thinking is “ohh my poor rights are being taken away poor me poor America! We are being oppressed!” This type of measures are necessary for our health😪
@Kata1899 okay, imma keep it simple for you. Why is buying condoms less risky than buying a garden hose? One of those has been made illegal but you're in the same public space to buy either. Why is fishing on a lake in your own backyard more risky than kayaking in your own backyard? you're in the same space. I truly would like to know how you don't see the tyranny here. You can't seriously believe that doing one activity in the same space is okay while another similar activity is "too big of a risk"? This clearly isn't about saving lives.
I feel like this is probably what will happen. People lack self control. Unless they find a vaccine fast I definitely think the military will get involved. The general public can’t help themselves
The number of people infected is exponentially higher than the official count.
I agree with tyou but people wotn understand that some the close minded
@kitty71 Yeah this is America, so of course plenty of people think they're special and it won't affect them.
Americans are special, the world would collapse without us. Not to mention how our military keeps the world safe
@888theGreat You can't shoot a virus. A lot of people in the military got the virus too.
I don’t think it would be a smart move to reopen the areas that have less deaths because it would mean the virus would spread rapidly anyways. If this happens then all states that were less affected would have high numbers such as NY which would be detrimental for the whole country. Unless there isn’t a vaccine, reopening the country will definitely cause more deaths in all areas of the U. S
