It's amazing how liberals hate Trump so much they are willing to go scorched earth and destroy the country just to try to harm Trump. COVID-19 has shown how horrific liberals really are, they will trade human life for political gain.
Where is food production and transport not an essential service?
@goaded for someone who constantly posts to know everything about what's happening in America, you're greatly behind the curve my friend. Meat processing plants continue to be shut down and everyone is reporting on the meat shortage that is on the way now, millions of gallons of milk is being dumped on a daily basis, and food is being left to rot in fields because of a lack of workers to process it due to this virus. Hopefully you're aware that food doesn't go straight from the farms or fields to the supermarkets for consumers to buy. Meanwhile, certain state governments are outlawing gardening and fishing (2 very good ways for people to obtain food) while it's allowing kayaking in the same lakes fishing is outlawed. Something isn't right here, and even some liberals are beginning to see it. I'm still waiting for someone to explain to me how fishing in the lake behind your house, or gardening in your backyard garden presents a virus spreading issue, while kayaking in that same water does not.
Oh, do we know each other? Why are you anonymous?Anyway, I know how farms work, I grew up on one. Why aren't there workers to process food due to this virus? Are they sick? Can't the workers harvesting crops work a row or two away from each other?I've seen reports of an outbreak at a meat processing plant, but don't the sort of people who work there just get minor symptoms? Maybe people can get used to eating the soya beans China stopped buying a year or two ago.As to the gardening and fishing bit, if it's true, it seems ridiculous, at least at first glance.
No. Wrong. We want to get back to fucking work and open our economy. There is no reason for people who do jobs that do not put them or others at risk, should be locked down. Government has seriously overreached in the U. S. and there will be reprocussions.
If that were true then other countries would be doing that. Its not. I mean it could THEORETICALLY work but part of why it would not work in a million years is because people can't do the simplest of things without fucking it up.I mean USA Is currently doing a horrible job of socially distancing already and that is a FAAAR simpler thing than to do selective social distancing with a lot of restrictions. I would have more luck teaching monkies synchronized dancing than having you people follow even the simplest of instructions even if it risks the health and security of your country.
The fatality rates are far, far, below what the "experts" predicted. We are ready to get back to work. Cucks like you can sit at home like a baby with a big dick. We need to be productive again.
Fatalities are well below the "Worst case scenario" that they predicted but is actually dead on the most likely scenario they predicted. Experts actually like to do several models of what might possibly happen so that you can predict the outcome and prepare a response for each outcome. The fact that people like you take the worst case scenario and celebrate that we are "well below" that is just dishonesty on your part.Just to hammer home how badly your idea would work. If USA ACTUALLY, and I do mean ACTUALLY socially distanced themselves for only like 4 weeks the outbreak would be over. Completely over. Just 4 measly weeks yet here we are with MONTHS and MONTHS and MONTHS planned simply because you fuckers can't do the simplest of things for your own good.
EVERYONE I know has been socially distancing themselves, everyone. I don't see people congregating, everyone is polite, but keep their distance. From what I see, the U. S. IS doing it's part to stop the spread of COVID-19. You mention NYC, well no one expects much from New York.
Well you are just wrong then. It takes between 2-14 days from the moment of infection to where you exhibit symptoms. After that it takes between 2-6 weeks to become cured for mild to severe cases. You do not necessarily have to wait for the mild and severe cases to become cured to lift the lock down since they would be isolated in hospitals and unable to spread the disease. That means that in after 2 weeks of an actual lockdown, if everyone did it, every one who was infected would exhibit symptoms. After 4 weeks only those who exhibit symptoms requiring hospitalization should be left and could be rounded up in various isolation wards and after that everyone could just go back to their normal lives. If you wanted to be more secure you could extend it a little bit longer.Either way this is not going to happen.. ever.. because people can't act like responsible adults and isolate themselves even for such a brief period.
how can they not have jobs?
@SuccessfulHornDog because they work on the street selling food or they already own their property that was pass down the family line. For example, my mom bought a house and when she dies I get the house. I could live my whole life in her country and just sell food for money on the bus and street.
Ok so they do have a job.
Yes. I hope there are law suits from sea to sea for what government has done. We need to make sure that government NEVER seeks to use it's power to lock people down again.
wow... just wow
@Marriedwith2 yeah wow, we have governs blatantly ignoring the constitution and other people defending them.
@Marriedwith2 We have to fight the virus, yes... BUT the potential damage to civil rights is enormous. We can't abandon the core principles of the Bill of Rights. When this is over I hope there is a MAJOR legal discussion that will define future powers of government in similar events. The danger is that government declares an "emergency" whenever it determines it needs to, potentially just to preserve it's own power.
I agree , the government actually has no power to do this , from what I remember the preamble says BY The people, and FOR the people. And let’s not forget the second amendment should government forget its limits

Are you a Constitutional Scholar? Are you even an American?
As amatter of fact, I am and I am.
Sure you are pal.
Why would you ask if you were not going to believe my answer? That would be something only a stupid person would do which would seem to fit you based on your comments here. Are you admitting it?
@jakerson181 I think you are a liberal useful idiot of the left. You have been thoroughly indoctrinated, you recite talking points perfectly, you support people who seek to destroy you and your country; you are blind in every important way. You are a cancer, a virus, much worse than COVID-19 ever dreamed of being.
That is some serious projection there, bud. Maybe someday you'll be able to find a solution to your self-hatred.
Let me guess, you are from some pissant country?
Do you think you could find one or two? Is it per person or per hour?
@goaded I started to answer this and then realized that I really dont remember the details. I will look for it
There is a lot out there but generally here is what i found1. Americans contribute more to the GDP per hour worked than the vast majority of European countries2. Americans work more hours per week than Europeans3. Americans are richer than Europeans AND the pay less in taxes. this is also part of the difference in incentives between Europeans and Americans.4. America is different than Europe in that workers can actually get ahead by working these extra hours. Europeans don't have this as an incentive5. Americans earn a wider range of incomes (more incentive based differences)www.chicagotribune.com/.../...-20161018-story.htmlHere is an article from 2015. Keep in mind that these things will fluctuate over time and are probably tied to the value of the currency and economic conditions.time.com/4621185/worker-productivity-countries/
Bearing in mind cultural attitudes are important. Europeans would rather work to live, not live to work.
Thanks for the links, I've identified the original sources of data (one article's oecd link was wrong):OECD statistics on GDP per hour workedstats.oecd.org/Index.aspx?DataSetCode=PDB_LV"Hours Worked in Europe and the US:New Data, New Answers"casee.asu.edu/.../...eggemann_fuchs-schuendeln.pdf1. Yes. Only Denmark, Belgium, Norway, Ireland, and Luxembourg do better (although one is sitting on gas, and two are tax havens, iirc). That said, GDP is weird; I think saving money doesn't count to it, just spending it does. Rampant theft is also good for GDP!2. Definitely. Do you think that's a good thing? Europeans have more holiday and longer retirements.3. Lower crime rates and universal health care. :)4. Most of us make more money by working more time, but they also get overtime, at time and a half or even double time.5. That's a nice way of saying vastly more inequality. Do you really think someone "earning" 100x as much is working 100x as hard?
@goaded Just compare GDP per capita.
@Levin True but traditionally the Germans live to work while the Spanish work to live. So, even within Europe there are different cultures. What I like about the US is that you can put in as much work as you want and it actually helps you get ahead. Others dont want to and and they dont have to. Freedom to choose...
"Just compare GDP per capita"It's a bad measure. Government spending adds to GDP, and it currently makes up over 50% of GDP in the US.
@SuccessfulHornDog or indeed, freedom to get shot by the local nutter, or freedom to be indebted for the rest of your life for an emergency procedure. Not be a dick, but there is nothing at all desirable about the US system.
@Levin LOL. Europeans willing to take risks left there to come here over the last few centuries. This concerned Hitler because he saw that trait as an indication of a more aggressive and fearless people. He later recanted it by saying that since Americans interbreed with Jews that we have been weakened and that the threat is no longer there. The point being is that yes we are different and I for one am happy to be here. It really is the land of opportunity if you take chances and work hard
Funny how our mortality rates are almost at the bottom of world mortality rates.
Deaths per million population: USA 118, Germany 54, South Korea 5.Spain 437, Italy 384, France 296, UK 237, Belgium 490, Netherlands 215, Switzerland 160, Sweden 152 (isn't that the country that right wing idiots were saying was doing perfectly well without lockdowns?), and a couple of tiny countries (where having less than a million citizens amplifies the number of deaths) are doing worse. But New York state 901 is doing worse than any of them, with New Jersey 458 not far behind.
Where is "here"?
It is vanishing ‘here’ in the United States, too.
I am correct
In the liberal mind, maybe. Liberals are more than happy to sacrifice lives to make political points.
Good thing I am conservative then, right?
I have read your other posts, you are hardly conservative.
I am for less taxes, a smaller federal government, preservation of our freedoms, a strong military, separation of church and state, constitutional law, conservative judges, reduced regulations, and 2 genders. I am Christian, love God and love my family. Believe in hard work and paying my bills, not relying on the government. But thank you for reading my posts.
Last week someone accused me of being the largest Trump supporter on GaG.
