If he leads the country into the worst performing nation for this in the world (which he did) he should resign.
Is there general agreement as to what the definition of 'The worst performing nation for this in the world' is? Mortality rates? The US isn't the worst, not by a long way. Infection numbers? Possibly, although that only really holds water if you trust the numbers coming out of places like China and Iran. So what does that statement mean? And do you think you'd get most people on board with your definition of it?
We have more confirmed deaths than any other country. It's a total embarrassment. The virus is rife through the nation.
'Confirmed' being the important word there. China is lying about its numbers. Iran has no idea about its numbers. If you look at the US mortality rate, per capita, it's actually pretty good. Belgium, Spain, Italy, France, the UK, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Sweden, Ireland etc all have more people dying per capita of Covid-19 than the US does. Should the leaders of all these countries also resign in the middle of a crisis? The argument can be made that they've done even worse than Trump has.
Even being in the top 10 is a huge failure.
Why? The US is in good company with some of the most advanced countries in the world, in this respect. Other countries very likely have higher rates, and are either lying, or unable or unwilling to test properly.
