Cinco De Mayo
Tomorrow is Cinco De Mayo...
Is that somekind of food
Its a Holiday, Do you seriously not know Cinco De Mayo, its widely celebrated in The United StatesIt celebrates a famous and fairly important Mexican Victory over the French in the second Franco-Mexican War, the battle took place in 1862 when France decided that Mexico should be theirs and the U. S was too busy with the Civil War to enforce the Monroe Doctrine (though after we sent Troops down to Mexico to help back up the Mexican forces and basically told France we'd fuck their shit up if they didn't leave Mexico alone)
Never heard of it. I just saw the word mayo and thought it was some kind of food
Not Mayonaise, Mayo as in the word May in Spanish, Cinco De Mayo literally means, Fifth of May, the date of the battle in 1862
In the U. S its traditional to eat shitloads of mexican food on Cinco De Mayo
Do your history, the US was beating the Brits long before the French arrived and the French provided very little support. The French simply hopped on the wave and rode along with us to finish off the redcoats.
Yes, please leave the disliking of the French to the people who are good at it (the British).
@Levin there's enough hatred for e French to go around, especially since they got us involved in Vietnam
“Is that some kind of food?” LMAO girl whoever you are you’re the best I love this post!!!
@Rangers lol Americans required heavy support from the French to fight off the British. The very idea of Liberty came to the Americans by the French even haha.Americans are not that original. But better than the snobby brits at least haha.

Because its Cinco de Mayo
Doesn't sound like a good reason to me.
I think Mr. Waffles is referring to the Battle of Pueblahttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Puebla

Ah, thank you! I’ll have to read up on this. Admittedly I didn’t know anything about it.
Me neither lol. I literally just googled "France may 5"
Yes, Cinco De Mayo celebrates a famous mexican victory in the second Franco-Mexican War
Can you believe I honestly forgot cinco de Mayo was tomorrow? Quarantine is making me lose sense of days.
Overwhelmingly, this "holiday" is just an excuse for people to get seriously intoxicated and eat Mexican food.
This is true
