Thank you for your opinion. This is an interesting perspective. As a born and raised Southerner, I’ve always hated the South their regressive ways and have only stayed here due to the field in which I work (Clinical Research, there is an abundance for these types of jobs where I live). Just because some Southerners are regressive and close-minded, why do you still treat those of us who are open-minded, progressive, and have obtained advanced degrees in such a patronizing manner?
Do you have an example? I think there has been a lot of disrespect of the South (and Midwest) in popular media but I don't recall seeing statements that "All Southerners are..."My parents are from the South. I was born there but grew up in Western Pennsylvania. It's part of Appalachia but they are in denial.
I’m more so referring to the everyday interactions with Northerners. They seem to think that Southerners are ass-backwards and treat them accordingly. Also, when Northerners move to the South, they constantly complain about how things are so much better where they are from.
Texas and Florida alone contribute more to federal tax revenues than all six states that make up New England plus Oregon and Washington combined. If you toss in Georgia, Virginia, and North Carolina you pretty much have California covered. After that it’s all gravy from the south. The south as a region is a far stronger economic powerhouse than both the New England region and the West Cost combined. You’re putting two regions one which includes the most populated state up against one and getting your ass kicked… So is it really a surprise that the bread winner of America makes the decisions in the house? When you actually examine the budget sheet you’ll find that federal spending generally goes towards programs such as social security, medicare, and veterans’ benefits along side military funding since those line items make up 75.4% of total federal spending. What are you proposing that southerners that make most of the money shouldn’t get social security and medicare when they retire?
@BeMuse AR, AL, LA, MS, KY, and WV are welfare queens. The New England states plus NY, CA, OR, and WA are contributors. Texas and Florida are big states. Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston, Miami, and Austin have an very different culture than Nashville, Birmingham, Jackson, and even Atlanta.
So now you’re trying to pile the Foundry/Rust Belt on top of the other two regions just to go after the South, a single region that you think is inferior... Somehow the South in your eyes is uneducated and doesn’t contribute to the federal government, but you don’t check your facts before you speak and you keep moving the goal post when the facts don’t support your position… That sounds pretty uneducated to me. Is the South also responsible for all that money that comes to them via social security given that a New Yorker introduced the idea? The South contributes a hell of a lot. Suck it up and accept the facts. The South in general is the most fiscally responsible region in the nation. Do we have some outliers like Kentucky, Louisiana, and Mississippi that spend irresponsibly? Sure… That aside as a general rule the South is very good with money and puts a lot of it into the federal coffers. The North East which includes New England on the other hand is the most fiscally irresponsible region in the nation. California is in the top 10 most fiscally irresponsible states as is New York. Do you guys have a few outliers that aren’t complete morons with money? Sure… New Hampshire, Washington, and Oregon do and OK job but they can’t carry the burden of the rest of the North East or Pacific coast.

Because you are a racist monkey? Sound familiar? ? You ain't deserving.. Like stfu.. Your automatically ugly because you aren't white.. Mad? ..
What the hell? How am I racist?
Because Anthony has colored eyes.. And fat lips..
People from Philly and people who share a state with Philly shouldn’t throw stones, That place has to sink the median IQ of the state.
@Stellargasm You name one university from the south as good as UPenn. Everyone knows southerners are dumb as shit. What does Philly even matter when the states average IQ is higher than most, if not every, state in the south?
William & Mary
@Stellargasm 1. William and Mary is definitely not better than UPenn. William and Mary probably isn't even better than Penn State2. You would choose a university from the most northern state in the south
That’s not the most northern state In the south you fucking mongoloid. Who gives a shit about colleges anyway? That doesn’t mean that every window licker in Pennsylvania went to U Penn. Sorry your piece of shit inbred Amish state has no other points of interest than your kid fucking colleges.
@Stellargasm Lmao fine, I'll give tou West Virginia and Maryland even though they were border states that were part of the union (not like it does you any good. You wanna talk about Philly look at Baltimore). Like I said, Pennsylvania has a higer average IQ than nearly every state in the south and you can look that one up. Inbred, that's cute coming from a southerner. Most of you retards couldn't even make it into Temple. Where are you from buddy? Talking all this shit but you haven't said what state you're repping. Wherever it is they must be stupid as fuck if you live there. Seeing as you haven't even made a valid argument. All you've done is more or less say no without an actual rebuttal
There is a truth that average educational achievement in the South is lower than it is in New England.
Okay, not everyone here is racist. Secondly, just because you’re not racist, you’re automatically better than everyone?
Who the fuck said I'm not racist?
And I didn't say everyone was racist. The south is known for their racism
I was also trying to include the states that aren’t considered to be a part of New England, such as Pennsylvania and New York, but go off, I guess.
