Rockets in space? They are not actually that good in space though. In space you want to use something like an ion engine, low power for sure but the efficiency is amazing. It really does not matter if it takes ages to accelerate if the trip is going to take weeks or months anyway. I mean you have the time. Other things we are looking into is solar sails. They are basically giant parachutes that get pushed by the light from the sun. Again they dont give a lot of power but their top speed is insane. Its estimated they could theoretically get up to 10% the speed of light which is something our current rockets can't even begin to compare to.
"More in the context of space based rockets."So you mean space ships or space stations. They can look however you want, since there are no aerodynamics relevant in outer space, probably with lots of spheres bound together with tubes, since this requires the least amount of materials for a maximum of inner space. It would still need some sort of solarpanels, maybe in a different pattern than the current wings of the ISS.It may have a sail like parachute to sail with the small power of solar gusts with additional rockets, maybe based on burning bio gasses.

Yeah, but what they do has changed? They didn't exactly used to land themselves, and given that some changes have been made to how they look too...
this does not make any sense
