Yeah i've heard Zahi Hawass say the same thin. That " you don't get the skilled engineering it takes from slave labor to build something as difficult as the pyramids of the time". I didn't need to use the pyramids there are many more examples throughout history. It was more the point i was making. That slavery is as old as humankind. And we can rid ourselves of the monuments but not the reality of our past.
This whole thing is more about tearing down statues of people. People who did nothing majorly good for society. They just owned slaves and have a statue.
I disagree it's our normal kneejerk reaction to things. I do think the statues should remain but they should be reviled. Brilliant generals her are shamed as they ended up on the wrong side of history.
They can just get put into a museum like Bristol are doing. Making a BLM movement exhibit
I'd be down with that. Luke i said this is our nations history. It SHOULDN'T be revered but the monument should stand as a monument of shame.

That is exactly the point of this post. You nailed it man.
Bible says one thing. Acedemia suggests another. My guess is it's probably somewhere in the middle. You can be well fed, well treated slave. But a slave none the less.
also, civil war statues, aren't natural wonders
Agreed but if you watch the world news racism is a worldwide issue. We're just getting more pub rigjt now do to current events.
When the people of Egypt decides to revolt against the government because of racism, then they and only they will have the right to do that. You on the other hand focus on Chaz and their little failed experiment.
Lol you are taking this post way too literal man.
Why would I not? The past 2 or more years it felt like everything was a joke.
Well you're young you'll grow up and out of that eventually... i hope.
Grow out of what?

No, they weren’t. They were laborers paid in bread, beer and grain.

It was for them. Most peasants and laborers were paid in grain. No, they weren’t slaves. Nice try, but brush up on history.
