They aren't rewriting history they are changing who we immortalize
The point is it changes nothing at all except create more division. Fuck the statues etc and instead unite against the real foe. This is a "class war" on a huge section of society disguised as a race issue. people need to see the bigger picture.
Oh, bullshit. "Soros-esque"? My God, that's a stretch, even for someone wearing a tinfoil conspiracy hat. Most of the Southern monuments were erected by organizations like Sons of Confederate Veterans. The building of those monuments was done not to just promote and remember the fight against the United States, but also to send a message about white supremacy. Most of the construction of the Southern monuments occurred during times of racial tension in the United States. That's not to remember the past. That's to send a message to the future, that white supremacy, even thought defeated on the battlefield, still lives. In the words of the vice-president of the Confederacy, Alexander Stevens: "Our new government's foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man, that slavery subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition."That's what those monuments celebrate. It is right that they be taken down.
You missed the whole point of it. Typical. And as for the tin foil hat remark it shows a complete lack of awareness of the bigger picture. Stay asleep. I won't be responding after this. Twat!
No, Irish, I did not. You missed the fucking point. And obviously will continue to.
I agree if people want it changed then do it democratically
But it doesn't hurt anyone. People are just too sensitive. I look at the flag, and that's it. Looking at the flag doesn't hurt my phone bill, electric bill, education, etc. It's just a flag. It doesn't hurt anyone.
Well if it’s not that big a deal, why not change it? I mean it doesn’t bother you, but it does bother other people. So if it’s not important, then the change shouldn’t be either right? Win win.
It doesn't bother anyone. People just want to change things because they're too sensitive.
Same thing can be said about you, why does it bother you that they want to change it. Like you said, it doesn’t affect you. To some it represents oppression, but to you it’s just a flag, so it really shouldn’t matter if they change it.
It does matter.
It’s not what you said earlier. You said the flag doesn't bother you and that it’s just a flag. So if it’s just a flag, why does it matter to you that they change it? It clearly bothers other people but to you it’s nothing, so why not?
