(Full answer that had to be cut, pt 2)... After the 60s though, gender pay equality became a thing and society had, for the most part, evolved to the point women could finally be on equal ground with the stronger, more durable, (and generally less-complaining) men in the workforce. In other words, most women legitimately could not compete with most men in the workforce due to physical limitations up until the 20th century. Few women wanted to anyway when they could just marry a man who did all the hard work for him and simply become his wife by looking pretty and not getting fat (usually).Again, modern feminists are literally quite too stupid (or disingenuous and deceitful) to understand any of this or how society came to be. Feminism COULD be necessary in countries that have no evolved to the point of having a stable economy, and fair and comfortable human rights in them, but that'd be like putting a band aid on a shotgun wound. Once countries become stable and economically strong enough to survive on their own and have a healthy population, these problems tend to sort themselves out, like with Singapore, Thailand, and much of Asia as we've seen in recent history.
(Full answer that had to be cut, pt 3)So to finally answer the question... Unless you're talking about literally the only useful and beneficial wave of feminism in Western civilization, second-wave, then no, feminism has no only been unnecessary, but has NEVER been necessary in society whatsoever. It is a soapbox for the most insecure, lazy, untalented, unskilled, narcissistic, entitled, pathetic, immature, unproductive, and un-useful women and beta males in society, used to infantilize grown women - usually college-educated, upper middle class Western women - and attack hard-working men with a case of penis envy the size of Betelgeuse (that's a star for the less educated). Feminism, aside from second-wave (and even that's arguable) has NEVER been necessary in society. It's never even achieved any kind of success outside of second-wave. The suffragettes were legitimately just the ANTIFA of the 1910's, third-wave is the man-hating, bitter miserable cat lady version of feminism, and fourth-wave is just the blue-haired, morbidly-obese, hairy-armed, poor hygiene, Blue Checkmark tweeting little sister of Third Wave feminism. (Yes, I do know my sh*t on feminism and what it means, before the No True Feminists responses come flying in.) It has literally never been about "gender equality" or any of the modern taglines and hashtags it claims to be about. It used to be about women's involvement in politics and their civil rights, but that ended in the 1970s when second-wave accomplished all it needed to do and dissolved. Too bad modern feminism has proved to be too profitable to the talentless of society to just go away and never hinder human progress ever again. So no, feminism is not, and has almost never been, necessary in society. But hey, untalented pathetic women need something to blame all their problems on, right? What better than patriarchy? I guess, in that regard, it's a useful crutch for useless people. But that's about it.

I'm just presuming, but I think the question was in reference to the first world (Western Society.)As for Islam, I disagree, I mean, yeah I think it's wrong, however, that is their culture, and you will notice even when Muslim women get out of the middle east many of them tend to stay more or less the same. Just one of many reasons why I'm both against "Open Borders" "Immigration" "Assimilation" AND "Foreign Wars" for any 'perceived' "Just cause" And if we are going to do that... Lets go liberate the Women Children and Men from South Africa being butchered first.
@Mossberg500 just because it's culture doesn't mean it's okay. First world societies have Muslims too and they're causing a huge problem for women's rights.
LOL you got to be kidding.. Women already have so many more rights over men.
Also did you not read where I said "Muslim culture is wrong?" That doesn't mean military intervention so there isn't anything we can do about that. FTR Muslim women are just as guilty as their men for extremism in the Western World. Assimilation isn't the answer. The answer is let them figure it out on their own.
@Mossberg500 you're the one who must be joking, Muslims clearly oppress women all the time. If you wanna support the Durka Durka sexists that your problem.
Once again, like the topic of the thread, I'm referring to Western first world women... have more rights than men. Do you dare challenge that? It's better to shut up than to be made to look the fool.I've never suggested Muslim women weren't oppressed. But if they follow the Qu'ran (Are true Moslems) they believe they are supposed to be anyway. In fact, the Western world was the first to lift all bans on women, and eventually place them above us in modern times. White men are such devils! Oh wait..
@Mossberg500 why do you support Muslims? Are you a Muslim?
we need education, not delusion. and i see in certain parts of america, humanities are more delusion and propaganda than actual sciences... a disgrace for the entire field.
Wow why not?
@WindAtMyBack Regardless of that particular quote being more reflective of radical feminism, Steinem was hardly considered a joke by the many who wanted change in gender/sex inequalty and social norm expectatiions. She was a social-political activist/ leader in second-wave feminism, which to quote wikipedia: "broadened the debate to include a wider range of issues: sexuality, family, the workplace, reproductive rights, de facto inequalities, and official legal inequalities."If you think feminism is unnecessary then it would be helpful to go back and look at life was like in terms of social norms and legal inequalities for women. Changes for women typically benefitted men as well.
But feminist literally dominates men and that would make men to wear panties and sit at homr
I would laugh at that joke, but it's pretty overused nowadays.
Although I tried wearing it. It's pretty soft and turns me into feminine.
Women only get special treatment nowadays. They fight for sexism. Girls have more opportunities nowadays that's a fact. Do you feel opressed?
Feminist say they fight for everyone not just women but yeah go ahead follow a movement that you know nothing about that does nothing for you. That claims to care about people. When did your feminist leader ever spend a week in a country where women are killed all the time? Never because they are selfish and want political gain. Feminist was needed during the women's suffrage but not in 2020 where it became toxic and moved away from its original ideals
Uhm the ones in the west don't fight for that. You are delusional
Why do you think so?
For a variety of reasons.Bait and switch - there are lots of different branches of feminism, but the main voices that speak for it as a blanket tend to be quite radical. More on that later. There tend to be two general sides to feminism, the side that simply wants equality and fairness, and the side that can never have enough and always wants more. People are pushed into the first, saying that they're not good people if they don't support it, but then when they do they are told to support the second or their support for the first doesn't count, which is a classic bait and switch scam.Past generations have always told women how previous generations mistreated women and how they are so much better. Basically this is just a tactic that men have always used to get women to see them in a better light. Only now the men are male feminists trying to make themselves look good. Same song, different words.Women's choice. Feminism, if it stands for anything, should be about women's right to choose. The problem is that when women choose traditional lifestyles they are bullied and shamed by other feminists. It's a cult-like behavior that builds on the bait-and-switch that I mentioned earlier. Look up feminists like Christina Hoff Sommers, or Camille Paglia.Government program feedback loop. One of the biggest problems with feminism is it's government support. If it were a purely social movement, it would likely be far healthier for everyone involved, though there are some philosophical issues with it as well. The problem with government involvement is that it creates a feedback loop where it has to constantly come up with new goals to justify its existence as a government program. Every achievement it makes, it needs to find something more. There are other issues but those are the main ones.
Says the muslim boy. Muslim men either kill their daughters if she get raped or force her to marry the rapist
Lol look at this loser still thinking I'm a Muslim while I never stated I was. I'm Dutch, little girl. Living in the Netherlands. Keep crying over Muslims who have bullied you. it's always hilarious to see islamophobes fall for some cognitive dissonance.
Muslims have never bullied me retard.
Why would a dutch live in middle east for years and defend them so strongly? I see you are a white-wanna-be like all arabs and pakistanis
Nah, it had to do with my dad being an expat, dipshit. Expats are very common in this world. It's because i lived between them, that I know their true nature. And still till this day, I have both non Muslim friends and Muslim friends. I just so happen to see your arguments and hate contradict my experience and knowledge with them and about them, ignorant fool.
Hahaha ignorant fool? Just because you lived in a muslim country (probably uae) for a few years and you have a few muslim friends doesn't mean you know everything about islam. You created an ideal islam in your head, the real islam has nothing to do with the things you say. Dont talk about things you dont know. It may be a few years of experience for you, but its my life. It wasn't your 10 year old brother who got raped in ensar fundation (a turkish muslim organization, 45 boys were raped there). I see muslim prayers arguing if a 12 year old girl should give birth or not on tv. Its not you who got molested in streets just because you dont wear hijab. Its just like white men saying "there is no racism against black people". If you dont know, dont talk about it.
Sweety, I already told you that I researched Islam and have seen the moderate way of it. Your Islam is not the one I know and experienced. Keep talking shit, girl. Your hatred means nothing. You're only hurting yourself. I'm sorry you and your family had to experience that. But the fact that you think 1.5 billion people worldwide would accept such acts from so called "muslims", only shows more how much of a fool you are. These type of people get shot by the likes of those who fought radical groups such as ISIS.
I've had enough of your shit, im blocking you. Find 100 americans who would be willing to live in a muslim shithole then i'll convert to islam, but you can't. Its an obvious fact, there is no need to argue. Yallah go to arabia, habibi😂😂
@TruthBringer lmaoooo the first and ONLY thing she did was start bashing you. She couldn't even counter your point. Heck, I don't know what Islam has to do with it, but I'm Christian, so I wonder if she's against that too lol and even in the Bible and even the Torah for Jews men are meant to be the dominant members, and women aren't supposed to be fighting for the right to do wrong - abortion, etc. (basically so they can be hoes)Based on her response, I wonder if she is one lol
Feminism in America is a good example of why feminism in the Middle East is going to fail.
Oh trust me, it’ll be hundreds of years before feminism is accepted in the Middle East if ever. All I ask is that they stop mutilating women for not wanting to have sex with their husbands.
I 100 percent agree. I'm saying Western Feminism is making other distrust feminsm around the world.
Oh yeah, modern feminism scares me. Like, I can’t have a normal conversation with a modern woman these days because of their arrogance. I consider myself traditional feminist and that’s what I mean by feminism spreading to other countries. Like, could we give women in the Middle East some rights and let them drive?
It necessary in middle east tho and southern asia tho. I see indian boys complaining how unnecesarry feminism has became. Like you are from india, women can't have a safe walk if she dont wear a saree
No one who asks this is talking about the east. Normally it's in reference to the west, more specifically the United States. Feminists here literally sit there and use the struggles of other women they'll never meet and nothing to help to justify the shit evolution of their movement in the west. y'all are disgusting
We are all disgusting? Wtf? Im not American, I've never even been to USA
What country do you live in?
Yeah it's probably necessary there since Venezuela is technically 3rd world. I was referring more to women in like the UK, Canada, US, etc. that'll claim the struggles of women in like Saudi Arabia to justify how toxic feminism has gotten in their own countries, without actually ever taking any steps to help women over in the middle east
your username is racist tho
I'm black bud
oh ok then bro you are allowed
She asked about feminism not equality, it's fine if you think their the same but just because someone doesn't support feminism doesn't mean they don't care about equality
So what is feminism for?
I hear them say it's to fight for equality but I haven't seen a feminist talk about something that benefits them, for example feminists complain about the woman being paid less than man but I haven't heard a feminist complain about female models getting paid much more than male models, or about man having to pay alimony for grown-ass woman who are able to get a job which is basically treating woman like childrenP. s. I don't think male models should be paid the same than female models I just feel it's a bit hypocritical
Everyone has his opinion about what is feminism but the thing is that objectively equality of treatment between genders is an utopia and can't work for a lot of situations
yes everyone has his opinion about what feminism is, that's why I don't like groups, cause once they get big enough you can't keep the assholes out who end up ruining the movements original goal, and I don't think equality of treatment between genders is an utopia cause in a titanic like scenario I still want woman and children to go first
@G5TWA1 but in the Titanic case it's inequal lol
Yeah well in some aspects we are unequal for example I probably won't shoot a baby out of my dick anytime soon
@Broken_doll Yeah, like many social movements some will bastardize it or have a radical following, but we can't dismiss feminism out right because of some opinions we don't like.
@GoodEnoughThen exactly. Like I disagreed with #freethenipple, but I didn't denounce the whole movement bc of it
How would justice and equality be established between the sexes with out a social-political movement such as feminism? How would that happen? What would that look like. For that matter, can we have real racial justice/progress without sub-movements suck as Black Panthers and now BLM? Groups of people are needed to be on board with a social change idea for progress to sweep across the society, and even with that progress is still at a slow pace.
Many people have taken steps to further gender equality without being feminists. So it is very possible.
Seems that would make them feminists by default even if they didn't necessarily self-define themselces as such.
It would be true if feminism was purely about giving women choice and giving equal rights and opportunity. But that's not the case. Feminism nowadays is bunched up with a lot more political agendas like intersectionality, socialism, etc which many people cannot relate with even if they want equality.
