Is it very sad what happened to the only indigenous parrot to the United States?

There used to be a wild native parrot species that used to live from the Gulf of Mexico to as far north as Wisconsin to as west as Colorado aka the Carolina Parakeet. They were the only indigenous parrot to the United States.

People drove the Carolina Parakeet to extinction for their feathers and use them for fashion. Also, reduction of crop predation drove these beautiful birds to extinction. The last one died at the Cincinnati Zoo in 1918. Hope there is a remote population somewhere out there!!!

This is one of the many reasons why I hate humans; humans are the reason why we can't have nice things!!
