what do you do in politics?
Currently I am an independent consultant for several trade associations and one think tank. In my previous incarnations I have worked for four Members of Congress - starting with the first in 1988 as a Legislative Correspondent and working my way up to Legislative Director. Then including working for the Chairman of the House Education and the Workforce Committee, later of the House Armed Services Committee, as both his Legislative Director and Press Secretary. I also worked for the U. S. Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe - a bipartisan and bicameral entity, i. e. both House and Senate, both Republicans and Democrats - as its Press Secretary. Also, I have served as the Congressional Liaison for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. I also worked for the Project on the Advocacy of U. S. Interests Abroad, among whose members included Henry Kissinger, Condoleezza Rice, Warren Christopher and George Schultz. In addition, I have had political articles published - either under my name or that of my employers - in The Washington Post, the Washington Times, the Orlando Sentinel and various other publications. So, as you can tell, quite a bit, actually. As I mentioned, I have been at this since the late 1980s, so you rack up a lot of miles.
