As to Neoconservatives, they began as a group of socialists who became disillusioned with the crimes of the USSR and began to adopt nominally conservative policies. In that transition, however, they transformed Marx's dialectic of class warfare to an inevitable war between dictatorship in all its forms and democracy as the driving force in History. In terms of policy, the neoconservatives have been broadly supportive - unlike American conservatism which is actually a variant of classical liberalism - of the New Deal welfare state. In foreign policy they are, not surprisingly, very activist. Believing it the historical destiny of the USA to spread and secure democracy around the world. This then how the limited goals of the initial wars in Afghanistan and Iraq expanded into an effort to turn states that were barely states with no history of democracy into versions of the US.By the way, the neoconservatives, not surprisingly, are horrified by President Trump, particularly his foreign policy with its emphasis on the narrow national self-interest and its' cost/benefit calculations about American alliances. See also making NATO pay its' "fair share."Among the most famous "Never Trumpers," William Kristol, son of the late Irving Kristol. The latter, along with Midge Decter, Seymour Lipset, and Nathan Glaser, being a founder of the Neoconservative school.Suffice to say then, the flaw in your ballot is that it compares one general set of ideas - liberalism, which also has various subsets - to one specific strand of conservatism that is, in fact, not even conservative in its origins. Indeed, that is strongly resisted by many other schools of conservatism. Thus making it impossible for me to cast a vote.
