That said, Biden will likely regret his approach. Jimmy Carter ran in 1976 on the ambition - in so many words - to NOT be Richard Nixon. ("I will give you a government as good as the American people," he said with memories of Watergate still fresh.) This he accomplished simply by virtue of winning the election and after that he lacked a mandate to govern and the result was the splintering of the Democratic party and the failure of his presidency. Reagan's 1980 landslide victory to follow. To be sure, particularly in this election, the polls are extremely unreliable - and intensity counts. (President Trump has it. Mr. Biden does not.) However, on balance, Mr. Biden now looks set to win - and likely will rue the day that he won the way that he did. As the old saw has it, "Be careful what you wish for... you may get it." There are wiser ways to win an election.
How was Trump to blame for the deatgs of covid and how would Biden save lives were he the president?
He wasn't and certainly Mr. Biden has no miracle cures to offer. Be that as it may, the public is - as is its' habit - holding the President to account for the handling of the illness. That is just a fact.In any case, my point was that by contracting the illness, the spotlight falls upon the President and away from Mr. Biden. Given that the President is already seen as a divisive and not generally popular figure - his highest approval rating to date having been a plurality of 47% - the focus on him and away from Mr. Biden works to the President's disadvantage.
Yes. Biden took advantage of the highest number of deaths and wanted to put the whole blame on Trump yet he peovided no solution or suggestion for how differently he would act were he the president
That's politics. Moreover, the public is, more or less, buying the narrative in general if not in the specifics. Be that as it may, because the President has been perceived, rightly or wrongly, as being somewhat cavalier in the whole matter - see also the great mask wearing controversy - he has made himself more vulnerable to the perception. Not the first time the President has been his own worst enemy.
Here in Russia we wore masks only for a month. Lol our death rates are extremely low
See also Sweden. There are a million different variables at work in the spread of any disease organism. The problem for the public is that it wants easy, quick and perfect answers. Suffice to say, it is apt more often than not to be disappointed in those expectations.
We don't protect ourselves from the virus by the way
Sure we do. In various ways of varying degrees of effectiveness. Pathogens are transmitted by physical contact and proximity. To the extent that you limit these, you protect yourself from the virus. Not perfectly - and the expectation of perfection is the problem - but well enough.
