What's something which you were resistive to but now understand?

art. for me it's art, why art? it wasn't functional. it didn't "do" anything why would anyone spend so much time dedicating their life's resources to something impractical, (essentially, maybe) non functional. i don't know when but slowly it stood for free will (if it even exists), that we don't need a "reason" to create things. that we'd be fine (even) when all our "needs" are fulfilled. when we have "nothing" to do (as a species, eventually) it stands for hope. i'm still a bit resistive to it but... "necessity is the mother of invention" (and maybe it's valid to say that) but eventually art became (maybe) my combatant to it.. a counter..
