Not really. And you didn't really give a clear answer. Of course I can't remember 9/11, but that's not the only event that happened within the 00s decade. You forgot about the election of Obama, MJ's death, the Wii, Apple release IPods and IPhone, etc. Of course I don't remember the early 00, though I have few vague memories. But I grew up more than half of the decade as a kid. And in the 10s, I was a preteen and a teenager, not a kid. And I also remember the culture from the decade (mostly from the mid and late 00s), and that's the culture that I reminisce about. Does my explanation make sense?
Also, do you consider yourself a 90s or 00s kid, mostly?
My point is its really arbitrary, this whole thought experiment is stupid but interesting to be in other people's shoes. So my personal arbitrary anchor point is 9/11/2001. So I'm one foot in one foot out in 2 decades. Remember things before. Remember things after. I understand your list as events in history but they are not the same arbitrary level pillars to make a "decades kid". The next big pillar in my opinion would be 2008.Anything you remember at that year of 2008? Not hard details, just an off feeling things are different now?
Did ya not read my last comment? I list the things that I remember. Read it. I can like remember things from like 2004 and onwards. Although I do have few vague memories of the early 00s.
I'm looking for something specific in 2008. It was a huge deal that i wanted to point in the right direction but not fully explain. It's about economy. There was a huge historical emergency at the time. Very very easy to Google to look at global historical impact but i wanted your 8 year old memory as a historical reference.
As much as my memory of 9/11/2001.
I literally explain it in my comment above! But I'll retype it again. Obama! Death of MJ! Wii. NDS. JBros & NakedBros. Beyonce going solo. Hips Don't Lie. Cargo Pants. Heely's. The Dougie & Soulja Boy. Crop Tops. Should I go on?
You have to remember when the 00s culture actually began! Mid 00s showed more of the 00s culture than the early and mid!
2008 was was a hard collapse of the economy. All the banks over did mortgages. Everyone can have a mortgage called "ninja loans"Once people couldn't pay bank's was los
Was losing value. Hit submit trying to spell correcting.
Banks didn't have any money. Housing didn't have any market value. Jobs was as gone as early pandemic phase but it was over money tossed into a furnace. This was turmoil for our world at the time.I'm just curious what an 8 year old you experience at this time. Only difference with 2008 and 2020 is a decent human being president.
That was the basis of my original argument. "One foot in one foot out" remember? Being 9/11/2001? The historical pillar.I'm trying to push my opinion on asking your experience in 2008. That year the economy world wide shit the bed. I'm curious what your experience was in that year of turmoil. As 9/11 was for myself and 2020 pandemic for kids.
Yah 2001 was a sad year, but it wasn't the only year when big events happened. And the only even I remember in 08' was Obama. I was a kid, I wasn't paying attention to stuff like that! You were like what, 16? All that mattered to me was Disney, Nick, Cartoon Network, the latest gadgets and devices, ya know... kid stuff! I betcha others my age and or around it don't remember the recession. It was probably normal to me or I didn't even notice a change. Kids don't pay attention to financial dealings, unless something drastic happened.
I gotcha buddy i was just curious from a different perspective. In 2001 i was the same way "All that mattered to me was Disney, Nick, Cartoon Network, the latest gadgets and devices, ya know... kid stuff!" I was wondering if any bells was ringing for any weirdness that you didn't understand fully but was noticable. No exaggeration 2008 was worse then 9/11 and extended to today's economics.I'm just asking was there a blimp in your radar for 2008 as a kid? I'm assuming there was not. That's a perfectly fine and reasonable answer. I was just curious from a different perspective
Yah understandable. I wasn't paying attention to stuff like that. It would be different if I was like what, 12 years old. Maybe even 11 when my brain develops a bit more and I get more aware.

I don't know? Some sources say Millennial while others say Gen Z. But am I a 00s kid to you?
If you want to be. I have never heard that term before
