I don't always agree with your opinions, but your answers are so well thought out and articulated. They always make me think. Always a nice read.
@Not_Average Thank you for your very kind compliment.
@nightdrot The correct terminology here is "the campaign," not "the administration."
Also, the Supreme Court did not "back up" the changes. They simply declined to take the case (for now.). It was a 4-4 vote. (It happened before ACB was confirmed.)
@Jamie05rhs Yes, technically on both counts. However, it amounts in practice to a distinction without a difference and I was not planning to get deeper into the finer points of the matter given the space limitations. As to the "for now," as regards the Court, it may get drawn back in, but it will go kicking and screaming every step of the way. This was pretty much a case of the Court trying its' best to avoid being drawn into a partisan catfight - and thereby avoid seeming to take a partisan position. Likely the Chief Justice will continue to twist and turn as best he can to maintain that nominally neutral approach. That all said, it is largely academic at this point. The Trump team has thrown a lot of mud at the wall hoping something will stick. That may provide them some catharsis, but it - as Andrew McCarthy of the (conservative) National Review Institute has pointed out - it is a lousy legal strategy.
It's notable that PA changed it's law to allow more time for votes to arrive as a direct response to Trump himself sabotaging the USPS not only internally, but then at the podium he would point at his own destruction and say "you see? The USPS sucks!" The gaslighting he's done to the American people, the media, and our democratic institutions is abhorrent and anyone who supports that madness is a traitor, period.
Yes, I know the Court will go kicking and screaming. Because Roberts simply does not want to get involved. He doesn't want the backlash and the negative press that will result in a diminished image of the institution. However, sometimes courts have to make controversial decisions. Justice isn't always popular. (There is a reason federal judges are appointed for life.)I have read Andy McCarthy's article. I understand that the odds are not in Team Trump's favor. But they have to do what they can with the tools at their disposal.
@Jamie05rhs No argument here on either count. Although I would add that as far as the Chief Justice is concerned, he is trading short term gain for long term pain. The longer the controversy stretches out, the more intense the emotions will be. Thus when the Court is finally forced to make a ruling, the backlash will be that much more fierce and the Court's standing and reputation will suffer accordingly./The Chief Justice would have been far wiser to rule then and there and take the heat. The delay will only make the reckoning that much worse.
@nightdrot I agree.
Is CNN right-wing media? www.cnn.com/.../index.html
Nevermind, they conveniently changed their headline. A few hours ago the headline was "Report: Armed men arrested in Philadelphia were trying to deliver fake ballots".
No, they're very leftist leaning. Ah, but that article is new to me.That's hilarious. Now the only actual evidence really is from Trump fans trying to rig the election. It was simply misinformation before - now there's physical proof, lol!He he he, of course they drive a Hummer. Oh man, I feel bad that my American friends have to share their country with these mooks, but this is also just so hilariously pathetic of them.
Ah, I see. Yeah, just suspicion.Though this makes it even worse... He wasn't headed to the polling station to plant fakes...He was just headed there for an "assignment" with some firearms.That's... Even worse.Be safe, America. Be safe.

I wonder is the percentage was based on ballots received or ballots sent out.Because if it was based on ballots received, then it could potentially be set back a few points as more ballots come in through the mail.
@Jamie05rhs It would pretty much have to be ballots received, not ballots sent out.States have a lot of leeway in how they do it. It varies by state when the deadline is.In some states it must arrive at a certain time on election day, or the day before election. In other states, it goes by postmark, which may be be election day, or before election day. With a final date after election day that it must arrive.States have different rules for hand delivered mail-in ballots, which might be a different than mailed ballots. Some have drop boxes scattered around. In Georgia, where I saw the percent change several time, the ballot must arrive by election day, except military and overseas voters which must arrive by Nov 6.Pennsylvania must be received by 8:00PM on election day, with no exceptions.Nevada, must be election day if hand delivered. If mailed, it must be post marked on election day and received by Nov 10.The ballots are self certified. You simply "say" that you are the person who this ballot belongs to. They are signed, but I don't know if signatures are being checked against anything. But someone can still sign it, then give it away, sell it, or whatever. There is no way to check if it's really valid, except possibly if the signature is obviously different than the one on record.
I don't like the postmark thing, tbh. Those stamps can be easily forged.
You have ZERO evidence.
This isn't a court of law. If you really care that much, you are free to verify any one of my statements yourself
Agreed. Any political test tells me I'm liberal or a Democrat but my party has been irritating me lately. There's a lot of shady stuff going on in this election.
Did you vote on the poll?
I'm liberal but I don't believe in limiting our rights I was ashamed that we voted Hillary in when she was clearly arrogant, aged, elitist, involved in a TON of red tape, and was against gay marriage only 7-8 years earlier (2008)Even before Trump was nominated, I tried sounding the alarm and was told I was the bad guy and not a real ally for being against Hillary. It isn't about Trump. It never has been. For years we got to wake up and hear "You're the good guys, Republicans are heartless and only care about money and religion. They're evil unfeeling people."I've since been pushed to independent for now, and am told daily that my opinions against Biden don't matter because I'm white, because I'm male, because "But Trump___", etcHave you looked into his Policies? They're a disaster.Trump sucked but his policies weakened the central government and expanded state rights (Which gives us as citizens more say because we can directly control where we live and influence the opinions of those around us. In a national election we are voting with and against the country. And there's a 50% chance we won't feel represented by our candidate.)
How many times should the Counters count the votes?
Wouldn’t really even need to be a court ordered recount. If they double and triple checked everything in the first place.
Don't they have a system in place to safeguard proper counting? This election is not the first election with multiple ways to vote such as in-person or absentee (mail-in).
You'd think yet multiple polling officials claimed there were no security checks, no ID checking, and multiple items brought in that weren't checked that were large enough to hold large amounts of ballots and coincided with states that happened to have sudden changes in ballot counts during hours they claimed ballots would no longer be counted
As it is you aren't required to have gov issued or photo ID to vote because the democrats claimed it was racist in 2016Pennsylvania accepted undated unaddressed and unsigned ballots for 3 days after the election and claimed they wouldn't check signatures even if they were there.North Carolina essentially is doing some of the same.I think it's insane that in a national election you aren't required to have an official ID to prove you are youI could have gone to my friend's local polling places, gave them their name and address, and voted for my candidate.
So are we claiming the democrats are in charge of the electorate system and it's not independent? I could see that in Russia but not America. To the rest of the world it just looks like a desperate trump sowing seeds and watching them grow. People forget that shared tweets, even by their millions are not real evidence.
Because we operate mostly on a state by state government overseen by a centralized government, headed by the president, yesPennsylvania is currently led by a democratic GA who stated they wouldn't let Trump win.And Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan all have Democrat Governors meaning yes they have the power to do this
You do realise a fixed American elections would be one of histories greatest scandals? I just can't see how something of that magnitude could be coordinated. This is right up there with flat earth nonsense.
ABSOLUTELY and it is not just the democrats that stole this election the republicans did as well. I myself am from around loving county Texas which has around 120 registered voters in the entire county. I went on a campaign for Vermin Supreme all throughout the county and got all 120 registered voters to sign a paper stating their support for Vermin Supreme in the 2020 election. Then the election comes around and I find out that Donald Trump has won the election and the county is red on the map? Something isn't right.
@ajeazyk See folks? This fellow Texan too sees the truth! It's all PONY BALONY 2020! (did you serious campaign for Vermin? If so, I am BEYOND jelly!!)
Criminal acts within the state of NY? What criminal acts? The murderous decision by Cuomo to send infected patients into care homes should be pursued though. Also, the stupidity of New Yorkers to keep electing socialists, who then destroy your city, should be analysed.
@DACAWA Charity fraud and tax evasion and no doubt other counts of fraud
Biden supporters can use weapons too, and they are smarter and more numerous. The red states should secede. The blue states wouldn't object. It would save them money.
@slatybYou are beyond delusional. The veterans (of whom I am one) are on the right, as are NRA members and most cops.A few million former professional killers versus try-hard soy boys and Call of Duty Communist scumbags... bring it on. 🤣It would be a turkey shoot.
Four years ago... in fact, even just 7 months ago... I didn't understand how anyone could vote for Trump either. But the Democrats have exhibited such lies, inconsistency, hypocrisy, and violence over the past half a year that I can understand why someone would vote Republican just to avoid a Democrat president. And I say this as someone who still gets classified as liberal or Democrat when I take political tests online.
They democrats haven't really done anything of the sort, though. The far right fake news (or conservative campaigners in the far left fake news) just say they do because campaigning is literally all conservatives can do well. If the government were a business the democrats would be the engineering department and the republicans would be the marketing department. And like most marketing departments they aren't interested in quality of product (i. e. quality of governing) nearly as much as they are interested in getting paid for selling it (i. e. convincing people they don't need government because it's already going so well for them, then cutting their own taxes to cover the benefit of reduced government). And ragging on the engineering department is how they've discovered to best convince poor people to give up on government but still pay for it.
Yeah because Democrats didn't promote violence by doing the following:1) defending rioting. 95% of the comments I saw online from liberals were defending rioting. I was in mostly liberal communities, being a liberal myself, and I was alienated because although I supported BLM, I thought rioting against innocent people was unjustifiable. One of my liberal friends literally yelled and cursed me out over the phone, and started making personal attacks. Another one of my liberal friends kept saying I had no empathy for black people just because I condemned rioting. My mom lost a 30 year friendship because the friend (a Democrat) said she was racist for condemning rioting. The same BS was spewed by Democrats like Chris Cuomo on leftist media, and Joe Biden didn't condemn rioting until after people started talking about how it was damaging the Democrats' chance at re-election.2) donating 30 million to bail funds to bail out rioters, while all the innocent people whose livelihoods were destroyed only received 2 million. Kamala Harris actively promoted these bail funds on social media. More hypocrisy and lies to come in next comment.
In addition to the other things in the previous comment, Democrats certainly haven't:- hypocritically talked about how we need to "amplify black voices" and "white people need to stop talking over black people" yet when a black person is conservative or Republican, white liberals demonize them, call them Nazis, silence them, and speak over them.- lied and said that Trump only condemned riots but never condemned the man who killed George Floyd, when (even before the riots) Trump tweeted expressing disgust with the situation & saying that he had asked the FBI to expedite the investigation. twitter.com/.../1265774770877902848?lang=en-lied about Donald Trump never condemning white supremacy, when there are videos of him condemning white supremacy at least 5 times. See compilation starting at 2:39 https://youtu.be/i_ilHJOkY4kMore lies and hypocrisy in the next comment
In addition to the other things in the previous 2 comments, Democrats certainly haven't:-hypocritically condemned conservative protests and rallies for potentially spreading COVID19, yet have no problem with liberal protests. I can't tell you the source because I overheard my mom listening to it, but a perfect example is that there was a woman talking about how Trump rallies are negligent because they spread COVID19, and the man she was talking to said "what about liberal protests?" and she said "there's no evidence that it has contributed to COVID19."- hypocritically said that when Trump says we have done the most testing, it is irrelevant because we must adjust for our higher population. This is TRUE, but it is hypocritical because Democrats didn't bother to adjust for population when reporting that the US is hardest hit by COVID19 and that it's all Trump's fault. When we adjust for population, there are 9 countries that are harder hit by COVID19 than the US. These are just some examples of the lies and hypocrisy of the left. And I just did ISideWith a couple weeks ago and I only side 23% with Trump and 77% with Biden. Other political tests also place me as a liberal or a Democrat. Despite this I completely understand now why people would vote Republican
Sorry, but i dont believe you are naive enough to think anyone online is who they say they are. If you are seeing liberals defending rioting online in such a way that you have reason to assume liberals are batshit, that is so obviously the sort of thing a conservative pretending to be a liberal would do. I have long suspected that the majority of the "meme sharing" pages on the left are really controlled by conservative campaigners trying to control the left's narrative to keep it looking more extreme than it is. And hearing you (or your liberal friends) imply you believe these people are genuine only tells me how good they are at their job (I was fooled in 2016, myself). And anyway, democrats are not liberals. There are liberal democrats but there are also conservative democrats. Variety is the whole point of the Democratic party. Whereas if you aren't a scammer you basically can't function as a republican.
My 2 liberal friends with whom I argued about riots are both friends I know in real life and I know for a fact they're very liberal. Also I forgot to mention that I saw several liberals from my university posting on social media defending rioting. I know for a fact they weren't conservatives pretending to be liberals. So, literally all of the liberals I knew in real life (who spoke about rioting) defended rioting. I am only acquainted with 1 liberal who condemned rioting and he's an online friend. There was a survey and about 60% of liberals claimed to condemn rioting, and I can actually believe that (despite my experience with all my real-life liberal friends all condoning rioting) these liberals condemn rioting but are afraid to speak up about it because they didn't want to get called racist. But that is part of the problem. WHY do we have to fear being called racist by people of our OWN PARTY just for saying "I think hurting innocent people is bad"? It's not all from conservatives posing as liberals, because like I said, it happened to me and my mom from real-life liberal friends. If we can't lump in Democrats with liberals on this issue, then why did Joe Biden donate to the rioter bail fund? Why did Kamala Harris promote it?Sometimes I do wonder if people on CNN like Chris Cuomo are really conservatives pretending to be liberals, but Chris Cuomo's brother is a Democrat governor so in his case I doubt it. Although I forgot to mention that a lot of the Democrat governors put COVID patients into nursing homes which is repugnant.
I'm saying they are likely influence by conservatives pretending to be liberals. With the conservative party is entirely focused on messaging, it is not a stretch to assume they have entrenched themselves into the sources of the liberal narrative..
My god I need to proofread better..The point is misinformation is a defining characteristic of the right. They could never sell the idea of cutting their own taxes and raising the debt to pay themselves more on it's own. So they need elections to be about literally anything else, which is necissarily misinformation because the money is the only thing it's actually about to them. So, the right has mastered misinformation as its primary weapon. And as such, when you see evidence of misinformation having occured (i. e. liberals with batshit ideas) there is a fair to good chance it originated from someone on the right. I would place bets on it. If you found any crazy idea from a liberal friend and traced the people who influenced that thought back to its source, you would almost definitely find a charlatan or scammer eventually. Also, fyi, "rioting" is defined more by destruction of property than hurting people. When objectively innocent people get injured the tolerance people have for riots (on either side) tends to drop to zero. And while no one likes destruction of property in general, people like having their kids murdered by cops paid by their tax money a lot less. The destruction of property is really just a way to draw attention to the problem. Is there a better way? Maybe. I have no idea what it is. If you can think of something by all means share it. But remember we've gone down this road before as a country and it's still a problem, so if you suggest a solution from the past you'll just piss people off.
Just do a google search. There’s a ton. Not all people who supported the President are cultist either. That sounds pretty bigoted.
@Not_Average I'm supposed to google the proof for you? lol. wtf. i hope trump has a better argument in court for the judge.(by the way, trump is going to lose EVERY court case because he has no proof.)
No, I'm telling you to find it yourself. I've already spent a lot of time analyzing both sides. There's an overwhelming amount of content out there to look at, and you acting like there's no evidence to support that particular narrative. Are you aware that people have already been arrested? You can decide your stance, but at least do a quick google search to see what's actually happening in the world. It's astonishing as to how many people make such bold claims before actually looking into it. There's evidence to support both narratives, and it's ultimately up to you to make a decision on where you stand.
@Not_Average there's zero evidence dude. trump is going to go into court claiming fraud with zero evidence and the judge is going to laugh him out of court. he's going to lose every case of consequence.
@Not_Average Wow, two inconsequential lawsuits, neither of which make any claim of election fraud on the scale trump is talking about: millions of ballots. neither of which will make any difference. Solid case, lol.
That's a very good point
The same people saying "there's no evidence of voter fraud dont investigate" are the same people who tell you "you have nothing to fear if you have nothing to hide"
Lol true. The entire ballgame of the Republicans in places is through voter suppression
