Masks are useless. Gee it says NOT FOR MEDICAL USE right on every box & decades of studies have shown that masks aren't effective against viruses. Don't believe the BS in the media. Look it up yourself. I did. It took like 15 min
@Equitube It's not about the media, there has to be some protection even if not perfect. Countries that have dealt with pandemics before us, the people where masks to not share germs. That sucks, but you have to consider that. That would not happen if it didn't help lessen the viral load expelled or inhaled. If it didn't make a difference, you'd never have dental hygenists wear mask. You wouldn't have surgeons or doctors where masks. I was going to volunteer at a hospital. It was manadatory to have a flu shot and tuberculosis shot or else have to wear a mask when working in hospital. This was a mandatory thing way before the pandemic and what happens at hospitals. It's so you don't contract or more importantly give it to vulnerable patients. That's the point of it though, People need to wear it for it to work best. And the severity of this virus can be viral load too. Even if you get infected with the mask on, if it prevents less viral load, then the higher chance of it being asymptomatic or mild, therefore less dangerous. You have to stop this brain wash of reiterating of donald trump. There are bad parts of the media. But this constant attack of the media is dangerous. You know who don't like the media? Dictators. Without media, the citizens are left in the dark, Without media, you are without regulations or reports. Without media in history past of rulers, is what allowed rules to get away with corrupt things because it was in the dark and people had no idea what was going on. They were also more prone to propaganda by rulers, because that' was their only source of knowledge or news.
@Smoke-n-GrowlsAre you talking about all countries in North America or just a specific one?
I mean, "all" is two: Canada and the USA.
PEOPLE MASKS DONT WORK AGAINST VIRUSES It says so right on every box as do decades of previous scientific studies. (look it up) But so many will believe the blatent lies that come from governments and media. If anyone truly believes that masks do anything other than make us rebreathe CO2 then I've got a great deal on submarine screen doors. Most only used once. And the CDC guarantees that they are at least as effective at keeping out water as masks are at keeping out/in viruses.
@Equitube MASKS DON"T STOP VIRUSES. What masks DO do, is stop the spread of sputum from your mouth and aerosolized spit from your mouth! Who ever said masks stop viruses? Viruses TRAVEL ON YOUR SPIT! MASKS STOP SPIT. AND IF YOU HANG AROUND SOMEONE LONG ENOUGH EVEN A MASK WON'T HELP. When it gets DAMP, it doesn't work anymore. So TIME is also important. Unless you change to a NEW DRY MASK, your protection disappears. SO, the DISTANCE, added to a DRY MASK (and the ability to change into ANOTHER dry mask), added to LIMITED TIME EXPOSURE is what protects you. And BOTH PEOPLE NEED TO WEAR MASKS. MY mask protects YOU. YOUR mask protects ME. This is the combination that protects everyone against covid. THe final part of the equation is, what kind of person is the person you're with? Do they not believe Covid is dangerous, or believe it's a hoax? Are they risk takers? Do they interact with a lot of people who also don't use masks, don't socially distance? That's the final piece of the puzzle. Where you have people who don't use masks, don't socially distance, don't limit their time in public or with strangers, you have the current skyrocketing numbers of people getting Covid and filling up hospitals. It's so simple to solve, it's ridiculous. The only reason there are LOCKDOWNS is because people aren't practicing health safety. So, blame yourself if they happen. In New Orleans, our infection rate is about 1.2 percent. But there are odd pockets in the state with rates of 20%. Our state, the epicenter of infections since Mardi Gras this year, instituted mask wearing and social distancing and saw our rates plummet. What does that tell you? It's areas that are NOT doing this that are troubled.

@Lliam Yah, Der Furher would be proud that so many just submitted without question, with the media propaganda and all. A great test, for the future, and a Totalitarian take-over. . . Trump? So tired of all this, and nobody knows much of anything, even now!! They cannot even agree on symptoms! Now, coming into flu season, how is anyone supposed to know if they just have the flu, allergies, a Cold, or this plague?
@JackSmy. LOL Exactly. The good news is, nobody has died from anything but covid since the beginning of the year. It's a miracle!
@Liam, you forgot the dozen, or so, killed by Police!!Simpletons, by comparison, to the Gestapo!! But they have killed many, and there are many questions as to why?
Did you know that a second wave is currently sweeping across Europe? It's currently worse there than in the USA.
It sounds like you think ranchers in Wyoming should have the same rules as cities like New York.
@NewtoTheSouth no I hadn't heard that, I'll have to read up. Thanks 😊
@Liam_Hayden Not exactly but you can't really compare a rural area to a big city like that. I live in PA where the governor tried to impose strict guidelines, but you could drive less than an hour down to WV and eat in a restaurant no problem. Or you could drive 4 hours to NY state where things were even more strict. I mean PA even had different guidelines for each county, as if the virus couldn't cross borders. It just doesn't make sense.
@NewtoTheSouth Because they put their guard down. even if there isn’t cases or little cases you MUST wear a mask until a vaccine has been made. I don’t know how many times cdc said that. if u put your guard down it will come back so Europe didn’t keep up the guidelines
Ok, you lock down for two weeks. No consuming anything that requires another person to work to provide it to you.
ridiculous n cringe nice mix
People are like animals, they need to be kept under control for their own sake.
I know over a dozen people and it came and gone.
The fact that there's that many kids in a classroom is a bigger issue.Kids are going to learn shit.Should be around 25.
@jace13 My largest class of 8th graders is 37.
That's way too much, no teacher can be effective to that crowd. How is that a thing? That school is failing both you and those kids
@jace13 It’s not the school’s fault. It’s a public school. They cut our funding all the time and use it for vouchers so they can’t hire teachers and we have to accept any kid in the area. Every school runs into this issue. I’ve taught in 3 different districts, one rural, one suburban, and one urban, and they’re all like that.
The state is failing. Poor representation.Get some teachers in office.
@jace13 The sad part is that I live in the average state, and we still have unions and we don't get treated nearly as bad as other states. I would never ever ever ever teach in either of the Carolinas, Kentucky, Florida, Oklahoma, or Kansas. My main issue is class size where I work. There are states that have the same exact issue, but pay their teachers horribly. I had to work 8 years and get master's credit hours (will have my masters in December) to get $57,000 a year when my starting was $33,000. I know teachers in other states who have been teaching just as long or longer and they haven't even broken $40,000 yet, and they have their masters. And they STILL have the large class sizes. But no one cares because they think teachers are whining and we should be grateful to even have a job because of all of the (unpaid) time off we get. And it is unpaid. My contract is for 184 days. That means I don't get paid for summer vacation or any breaks during the year.
When did teachers become contracted? That's bizarre too.Teachers are not valued anywhere near where they need to be. Society didn't take a wise choice when it comes to education of the population
@jace13 If you work in a union, you're a contracted employee. That's any field. But you don't have to be in a union. A lot of states do not have teachers unions. Private and charter schools don't have them at all in any state.
Mmm a lot of things need restructured
Said shamalien with his fortnite nerf blaster in his hand
@LivvyM lol I haven't played fps in years
Nothing with owning a nerf gun little buddy
It's help limiting the covid case's people don't wanna wear a mask this is what happens
Selfish desires? Like providing for their employees and families? Like delivering and producing things that allow people to live and thrive, or at least survive? Your post is a perfect example of the failure of public indoctrinati... education.
That will hurt small businesses and there will be riots Plus a lot of people would kill themselves
Yes, but if they'd have done this in the first place (march) we wouldn't be in this situation now
Also explain why counties like Japan did not do a lockdown but they have much fewer cases then rest of the world?
They have done it a different way they had a higher peak but are now coming down in cases
Well no I’m against lock down people have to pay bills just wear a mask and social distance if u don’t that’s your problem. the reason why we were shut down because of high hospitalizations across the country
@LoverXpp is right.
Yeah 1 big issue people don't social distance or wear masks properly...
And most will listen even less so nothing will change
Because people are stupid. I know.
to me. I hate not having an edit button.
Stfu who are you?
@Shamalian is this you?
HAHAHHA no it’s not, I actually hate this girl with a passion but up until that correction fluid stuff she sounded exactly like me in this comment XD
bet your fun at parties *SARCASM* @Shamalien
@Shamalien You hate me with a passion? :(
IT's not fatalities. There appears to be longterm damage to the body from Covid. Heart, lung, kidney and joint problems. There are a small group of people who have "longhaul" Covid and are sick for months. They aren't old. I hope no one you know and love joins that 1%. And the death rate from Covid is more than 10 times greater than the flu. Only 34K people die per year in US from the flu. So Covid is far more deadly. I wouldn't want to risk getting a disease that so little is known about, has residual effects that include seizures, strokes and Gillain-Barre syndrome and is associated with Alzheimer's! I just looked over the CDC list! I'd be scared.
@Screenwriter Still small numbers even for those folks. Half of people who get this are asymptomatic. So they don't know and will never know that they even had it. Covid is worse than the flu no doubt. And the death rate IS higher. But here's what the distribution looks like: news.sky.com/.../covid-19-who-are-the-50-000-people-who-have-died-with-coronavirus-in-the-uk-12129321
That data is for the UK, and the relative size of the areas shows the relative deaths of each age cohort. As you can visually see, roughly HALF of the fatalities are people 85 or over. That's already well beyond average life expectancy! Three quarters are 75+ and the bulk of what's left are 65+. The death rate of humanity is still hovering pretty constant at 100%--meaning we are ALL going to die eventually of SOMETHING. Does it REALLY make sense to shut down ALL of society for this? That's INSANE! Take precautions, sure. Elderly people self isolate--fine, if that's what they (individually) want to do. But why on EARTH should everyone else do so? Do we think there are NO adverse consequences coming from massive unemployment or kids not socializing with their friends? Because there most certainly ARE.
But minor behavior changes mitigate covid dramatically. A mask. Six feet. Hand washing, wipes. New Orleans' infection rate is 1.2 percent. People are wearing masks and spacing themselves. I'm wither in my home or working outdoors laying sod, gardening, walking in the park, riding my bike. I'm not hanging out with friends and family like I used to because I've got high risk relatives. I do eat out once a week at a phase 3 restaurant and bakery. Those are my high risk activities. We have to wear masks to enter those places and I put my mask back on if I'm not eating or drinking. You're required to wear masks to enter any place of business here.
@Screenwriter 30% unemployment is NOT minor! Kids not being able to socialize with their friends is NOT minor! This is completely out of proportion to the problem. If this were something like the Black Death, sure--this response makes sense. But it isn't. It isn't even close. Washing hands and even wearing masks is one thing. Shutting down businesses and destroying livelihoods is quite something else.
The pussies can stay home... no one else will suffer I like my freedoms... it's your , choice to stay safe... it's my coice to live life
