I honestly don't care personally but never would look down on or think anything less of those who aren't comfortable doing so. I've grown up around guys my whole life and still to this day even live with only guys so because of my background I've become familiar with those kinds of situations and don't feel or see them as strange or uncomfortable. I think for the sake of children and healthy gender boundaries (this is based on actual research as limited as it may be because it a rather new area of research) that there should be separate bathrooms for both men and women and that it's healthy for them to use one or the other based on their biological gender. I believe we should respect both men and women on their privacy preferences in this situation.
We had it at my school before being trans was spoken about much because of bullying and it was never a problem.
It was very open. There was cubicles that went right up to the ceiling to the ground so there was no possibility anyone could see you once you were in there and they had a girls and boys side and a massive round sink in the middle and the entrance was all frosted glass so if anything bad was going on you could could slightly see the from the body outlines.
Its hard to explain but I think my old school came up with a really good idea to make it comfortable for everyone.
