Not just a distinction of morals and character, but international and cultural.The search for saviors - particularly when a reaction to the moment as opposed to a search for the transcendent - is always a risky affair. There is no brotherhood of man and we are not "all basically the same." We are defined by our particularities. However, there is an irreducible element to humanity. That commonality makes the search for heroes always a risky, not to say treacherous, enterprise.

He does. And, hey, to Jesus there is no Jew or gentile, male or female, in the sense that if someone desires to come to him, they can regardless of where they're coming from. But he won't force you. ;)
