Do you think the history of neo-imperialism or neoliberalism play a larger part in the economic disparity between the 1st and 3rd world?

In case you don't know, neoliberalism is putting all economic power in private (corporate) hands versus under public (state) control that has taken hold of the third world during and after the Cold War:Basically the proprietarians' (incorrectly referred to as "Libertarians" in the US) wet dream.

I would go with Neoliberalism.@0:34, yeah it is an oversimplification to say that Imperialism is the cause of all 3rd world problems. Instead of focusing on how the history of imperialism has had such a detriment on the 3rd world, those social science/liberal arts professors should talk more about how the present reality of mass privatization and deregulation continues to adversely impact the quality of life there (and how it's linked to income inequality in the US as well; look up expanding markets and the crisis of overproduction).
