In case you don't know, neoliberalism is putting all economic power in private (corporate) hands versus under public (state) control that has taken hold of the third world during and after the Cold War:Basically the proprietarians' (incorrectly referred to as "Libertarians" in the US) wet dream.

Instead of focusing on how the history of imperialism has had such a detriment on the 3rd world, those social science/liberal arts professors should talk more about how the present reality of mass privatization and deregulation continues to adversely impact the quality of life there (and how it's linked to income inequality in the US as well; look up expanding markets and the crisis of overproduction).
