haha don't worry i have humor and i can laugh about napoleon, now we live in a too serious world where anything that is said is taken as an assault. I would have preferred that he win lol. But honestly he understood a lot of things before everyone else
Ah thank you for his details on the policy of your country, I do not like Bernadotte lol
Why not? Xd
He is a traitor lol, he initially fought Napoleon against his coup d etat, Napoleon showered it with favor, and in addition as King of Sweden he approached Russia and took part in the coalition against France. Napoleon will say of him "It was he who gave our enemies the key to our policy, the tactics of our armies; it was he who showed the paths of the sacred ground. In vain would he say as an excuse that in accepting the Swedish throne he must have only been Swedish: a banal excuse, good at most for the multitude and the vulgar of the ambitious. To take a wife, one does not renounce one's mother, still less is one required to pierce her breast and tear her entrails. "
He's quite celebrated here for leading the invasion that conquered Norway from Denmark :P But I was actually not aware that he was a traitor of Napoleon. Funny how things work out sometimes, a servant becomes an equal and a nemesis. And today his line endures while France has absolved monarchy. You know that makes me curious, do you support any of the French claimants? Duke of Anjou perhaps?
Glad to teach you lol, but he gave up invading France. Not really I am a republican, but know that the French Republic established by de Gaulle is called the republican monarchy. I have great respect for our kings. I follow Anjou Louis XX's account on Twitter lol, did you know that his grandfather was Franco
Really now? Odd for a Republican to have such high esteem for not only Napoleon but such ancient patriarchs of France as King Clovis I. As a Royalist I've butted heads with republicans quite a few times and they've never wasted an opportunity to insult all monarchs. Glad to see not all of you are without manners and good sense. Franco? Seriously? Geez.. embarrassing pedigree.
Yes I am obliged to recognize that it is our kings who made France, and the church too, the historian Jules Michelet had this magnificent sentence "France is a conquest of the church". And I am an atheist, I think that our monarchy is loss because of the parliaments which prevented the reforms of the kingdom. I could explain my point of view more to you in private messages if you want lol. Not for him, for him his grandfather Franco was a great head of state who restored the Spanish monarchy
He was not even small, maybe a little nervous lol
You asked for the English opinion of him now. That's what it is. Propaganda of the time depicted him as a little man. And let's be blunt Nelson was hardly a tall man, I've stood next to the life sized statue of him on HMS Victory, I'm taller than he was. But that's how napoleon's seen.
Yes lol, what is funny is that in 2015 if I remember correctly the descendants of the Duke of Wellington and Napoleon met in Waterloo
Yes, but there are historical figures that we hate

Haha, I'm not surprised by the English, the one who had the most influence for romania is Napoleon III?
Personally, I was not very impressed by his battles, until I found out what happened after the second battle of Leipzig, when the allied powers crossed the Rhine line. Then Napoleon shocked me so terribly that I wondered if it was possible for there to be such a leader and absolutely no one handcuffed close to his greatness in that French army.I still try to find mistakes in his campaign in Russia and I do not succeed. :(
Haha yeah this man was a genius. I understand why he campaigned in Russia but it cost us dearly, in addition Tsar Alexander was very influenced by the English
Why you guys didn't go directly to St. Peresburg?
Good question lol, but Napoleon is already starting to decline, the worst is that Napoleon before this campaign had beaten the Russians several times. But they didn't want to respect the continental blockade
Personal i think it whas a bad move for Russia and they whas block from Ottomans in the Black Sea, East whas undeveloped and St. Petersburg whas the only international port, so whidout finacial compensation for such a move it whas imposible in my opinion to make Russia agree on that, especialy when they have good relationship at that moment whit UK who have such a huge empire and have unlimitade money.
Yes it was difficult lol, but it cost the English dear financially, they had a huge debt that they were only able to repay in the 1900s. Have you heard of Napoleon's French campaign, it is a defeat, but Napoleon had rediscovered his genius of the great evenings, unfortunately his marshals betrayed him
Yes it is, and I know Wellington has a statue of Napoleon in his home.
Haha, besides it is an English propaganda to say that he was small, at the time he had a normal height
Yes, I recall having read that. A bit like how Abraham Lincoln was quite tall in his time, but these days would merely be tall.
It really makes me want to go back in time; I'm 6'5" and I want to go cause an uproar, get a song or story made about me. Let it be foolishly exaggerated; I'll be 10 feet tall and it'll have taken an Army to bring me down.🤣
Haha very funny I'm not very tall, but at that time I should have stayed at home
Well, feel free to go full Mulan, lol.
Lol, because even if I admire Napoleon, on women he did not give us much rights lol. He had this sentence "The woman is the property of the man like the fruit tree and the property of the gardener" 🤣
Well, that wasn't an uncommon view back then, not remotely lol. Society is in a constant state of change, some for the best and some not so.You're from France I take it?
Yes I'm French, it's true you're not wrong, but for example on other subjects he was more open for example on homosexuality, there was the second most important man in the government who was gay, and that it's no problem for Napoleon
Oh really, for what reason?
I have no doubt about that
Able was I ere I saw Elba.
The island of elba is pretty
He was not small lol
Yeah sorry for downvote
Yes a genius, he had understood a lot of things before everyone else
