- Equality and equity are two different things. Treating everyone as an equal is great and should be the bare minimum. THEN you see if equity works better.
There's a meme with 3 people standing by a fence, all 3 are different heights and there are 3 boxes.
Equality ensures that everyone will get a box to stand on. Includkng the tallest person who does not need it to see over anything, while the middle man can now see over fine, the shortest still can't see with a single box.
Equity ensures that everyone can see over the fence. The tallest person does not need a box to see over, so 2 boxes are given to the shortest person, so they can see over the fence like everyone else.0|00|0Is this still revelant?

- You're confused.
The two are not synonymous. A citizen cannot be treated "equally" to a non-citizen in every regard.
Also, what do you mean by "propping up" as a democratic government is "propped up" in that it has legal authority over all other authorities, with only the judiciary providing a check and balance.0|00|0Is this still revelant?

021- No. That's just called patronizing people and looking down on them with benevolent bigotry. You think they're so weak and helpless and that you're their savior (especially if you're white and left leaning), but they don't need your help, or patronizing.0|30|0
- "Treatment" should be based on merit when considering things like a job promotion, hiring, advanced training, etc. "Affirmative Action" was and still is the road to rack and ruin.0|00|0
- I hate everyone equally. Boom instantly more reasonable than everyone els having this descussion today lol.0|00|0
- Anonymous11 dNoooo, it does not, and anyone who expect any group to be treated better than others (like diversity quotas, you must have a certain amount of blacks instead of just letting people hire who they think is best, are true enemies if equality and should never be trusted)0|10|0
- Well nowadays it’s more about tearing down certain groups of people who are responsible for the bogey man “system”0|20|0
- Yes, all animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.0|00|0
- Of course. Everybody is equal, but some people are more equal than others.0|00|0
- Not always. I would say it means to have integrity and be respectful about it. Life's basis are not something to take lightly though.0|00|0
- I’m tired of jealousy and dividing questions. Everybody has a story and life is very hard for everyone.0|00|0
- The belief of treating people equally usually means giving a certain group an advantage so they can reach the balance point which will then tip the scales in the opposite direction.0|02|1
It almost sounds like you're saying treating people equally means to treat people differently.
You are confusing equality with equity. Equal opportunity is what is important not equal outcome
The belief of treating people equally does not mean give one group am advantage. No one is looking for an advantage just the same rights as the privileged. The outcome after that is determined by the determination to succeed. by the way you're not doing a very good job of hiding your racist views

Well we shouldn't condemn something due to the actions of others misinterpreting it. I believe what they did was equity, not equality.
In many cases, yes, but we shouldn't be so absolute about it. In some cases equity is great, like that one photo that is circulating online.
https://images.app.goo.gl/ujWemn643CRQd1dG6You dont see the goverment holding a gun to the dude and threatening his life if he doesn't give up his boxes
Also why would I do anything to better myself if I can just take from people that worked hard. And the opposite. Why would I work hard to earn the same as the guy doing nothing
I don't think the dude would bring a box to the game that he knows he could see. The box likely belongs to the statium. Equality would be the stadium giving everyone a box, regardless of whether they need it, equity would be giving those who need the boxes to see the game.
I'll repeat myself, equity in many cases is immoral, but not every case. Not everyone needs a box to see, so in situations like this, there's nothing wrong with giving them to people who need them and not giving them to people who don't.Stadiums dont give boxes to people so they can watch the game for free. They either brought them or stole them. And are also stealing from the Stadium and teams
Yeah and stadiums also don't have opaque fences in places that block vision. The illustration is conceptual, not a realistic interpretation. Of course stadiums don't have boxes lying around specifically to be uses to prop people up. And how are they stealing from the stadium and teams?
Watching a game without paying is stealing from the stadium and the teams. That is how they make money to keep playing. By people watching the games. Similar to pirating music movies and games.
I could be wrong but I don't think the implication is that they were watching without paying. Again, it's a conceptual, informative graphic, not a realistic illustration. Notice how the surrounding wall to the stadium in the background, as well as the wall they're looking over, is all grey. Not to mention, what does equality and equity have to do with illegally watching baseball games? You're looking at the illustration too literally.
To be more clear in the grey perimeter wall, I don't think stadiums have that where people just walking by can prop their head over the wall and look. So the illustration isn't supposed to be a realistic interpretation.
- Nope. But no one wants true equality because then, no one is special!0|00|0
- Anonymous11 dNo, that would be the opposite of treating everyone equally0|20|0
- No, but it DOES mean not knocking them down.0|00|0
In any way. Equality means everyone is on a flat playing field. No one gets propped up, no one gets knocked down.
Yeah, I totally misread your comment. I thought you said equality DOES mean knocking people down. Totally my mistake.
