My Canada does not and will NEVER include Canada. Nobody in the ROC goes there on vacation (not even before Covid), and no English Canadian thinks highly of French Canadians. In fact, we hate their guts.
So why do English people go on trips to Wales and even move there?
Get a backbone England!

Both the Quebecois and Welsh are worthless and need to be replaced.

What Girls & Guys Said
25Tbh I don't know the political landscape of Britain, do the Welsh overpower British politics the way the Quebecois overpower our politics?
Also you're not entirely true Asker, Montreal has long been a popular vacation destination because it has so much history. There are many other areas worth visiting there too, which makes me sad that the province is the way it is.
The welsh don't have a say in English matters but they do in British ones.
Besides if you live in Canada shouldn't you have the manners to speak french
You mean Creole? Because of the Haitian spooks there?
I thought real Canadians spoke French
But alas, I don't get to make policy.
They always used to say the image of Margaret Thatcher on the toilet was an ultimate boner killer. Personally, I just think of the Welsh accent.
You are limited and ignorant. That's a fact, not my opinion.
Obviously, you're a west sider, 14616. 14612 at best. Maybe even 14615, ouch, that's embarrassing! A Sabrrs fan, based soley on geography (LAME!)
Please tell me more about these unsubstantiated claims. Maybe throw in some white privilege...
Sometimes they just answer themselves, don't they?
You suck, you fucking hoser.
Harsh. I assume you're from Britain? I am not asker but I am from Canada and was wondering what the Welsh are like in your political system? Do they operate similar to the Quebecois? Do they have their own political party/faction in the national elections stealing senate seats away? Here in Canada we have a saying that if you control Ontario and Quebec, you control all of Canada. We have English and french on everything in Canada unless you're in Quebec, only french, they even have revenue quebec instead of revenue Canada. They basically threaten to leave every election and we are forced to give in to them to appease them, then they end up taking money from everyone else in "equalization payments". It's to the point where on western province is either selling out to China or pretty close to it, and 2 others are about ready to separate entirely from the country. I don't hate the quebec people but admittedly 50 years of having a provincial party in national politics is destroying this country, I just want political change.
One western province*
It sounds like how the relationship with England and Scotland are within the UK and the strife thats caused that way in politics but at the end off the day what they do what they believe is best for them no yes it fucks over others but that is essentially what politics is one side trying to get what they want not caring how it effects the others
Look fam I'm fine with quebec leaving if thats what they genuinely want, but if they don't want it then they need to stop twisting the countries arm using the threat of leaving. They've been doing this for 50 years now. We're fed up, the west is actually wanting to leave because we've been paying Quebec millions every year even though they should have a good economy. In 2018 they got almost 12 billion almost exclusively from western Canada. It's real bullshit when they control our national politics so the west gets literally ignored but also we keep getting charged for their expenses because we have built strong economies while the two most populated provinces just choose to live off our labour and use the rule of democracy to force us to continue paying. I just want us to get along without feeling the need to try to cheat and corrupt the system, because honestly it feels like the only option here is fighting fire with fire.
They are not using democracy to do anything more then what democracy allows again yes its shit but they are playing within the rules there if u want change vote for it vote for a party that wants to split from them no?
Well if we can't agree on a better way to do this the either our national politics are about to get ripped apart by provincial partisanship, or else Canada is going to cease to be a country. The west won't stand for this for long, were being calm cause of covid-19 but once it's over Jason Kenney (Premier of Alberta) will go back to flinging poo at Quebec, trying to start a national party based on provincial values, and trying to get Alberta to separate from Canada. I love this country and want it to stay unified, I dont want to be divided like USA and I don't want Canada to be destroyed. The thing is if we vote to split then that will be it, the country will be doomed.
"The core issue is pretty simple. While the Québécois—and to a slightly lesser degree the rest of Canada—now need Alberta to maintain their standard of living, the Albertans now need not to be a part of Canada in order to maintain theirs." -Peter Zaihan.
If we threaten to leave, then Quebec will threaten to leave if the government gives in to the wests demands. It will start a back and forth battle that will tear this country apart. They don't want to give up power so they will fight tooth and nail against us if we do what they've done, which is why we've tried to appease them instead but that was a bit like appeasing Hitler, now they're oppressing religious minorities. I want a rules change, but most likely since they control our politics, and Ontario wants to keep appeasing them, that just won't happen. The only 2 real national parties here are liberal and conservative, liberal represents east, conservative pretty much represents west, but neither side really seems to want to fix the election problem for some reason. Erin O'toole (he will be conservative in next Canadian election) wrote some blog posts criticizing Trudeau for his "attempt" at electoral reform, but he ended it with fear mongering about how changing the election system could make things worse.
"After watching this (electoral reform) issue unfold in Ottawa, I firmly believe that this exercise is motivated by calculated political advantage to the Liberals dressed up as democratic reform. I wish I didn't have to be so cynical in my assessment, but this exercise is premised upon fixing a problem that doesn't exist"-Erin The Tool.
Basically he supports is because the west does but he doesn't really support it and won't really do it if he gets elected, he'll do exactly the same thing Trudeau did.
That can be the same with any place it could be argues that London voted to stay in the eu yet the rest of England voted to leave that dont mean as a place London can then just say we will leave England lol it dont work like that i get why u are angry but this is how democracy is set up
You're not listening. I understand we won't always agree, we will have different interests, I just want a fair process. I can deal with equalization payments, but I want the political process to work fairly and benefit everyone to some extent, the fact that we here in the west get 0 representation in national politics is bullshit, the best we got was Trudeau deciding to purchase a pipeline in the hopes Alberta would calm down, then he fucked the whole process and now it's dead in the water. Because our prime minister ignores the west, doesn't care about the aboriginals, and wasted a lot of Canadian money on a project that probably won't even finish.
And I get that the system is buggered but I don't see why we should just be forced to accept that? I want to be Canadian, but I also want the Canadian government to represent all Canadians, not just the east. I want electoral reform and political reform so that we can fix these problems instead of fighting about them, but people benefit off the unfairness so...
I completely get what your saying just trying to say I dont have the answers I dont yhink most do because the people at the top are happy with the current situation
That's fair, thank you for understanding and Im sorry this works me up so much. Part of me wants to join politics, lie my way into power, reform the electoral process in my first week, then immediately resign and call a new election. Getting proper and fair elections is my first priority, followed closely by ensuring that the country is unified. We can't be unified with unfair systems tearing us apart.
