Yes we can always vote third-party there are third parties in the United States but they don’t win at all it’s a joke you might as will not vote at all in the United States
We have a binary choice you can vote for Democrats or you can vote for Republicans and you vote for whatever party Matches best with what you believe and what you support, and just because you agree more with one side then the other doesn’t mean that you agree with everything the side says or does.
im going to use my self as an example, I disagree with abortion I think it’s wrong to kill an unborn human I don’t believe then men can be women, I think a slower transition away from fossil fuel is a better way of dealing with climate change rather then a radical shift to the economy and infrastructure that coast trillions aka the green new deal. Mostly republicans ideas and priorities. Where i differ is I do support gay marriage I’m not religious even though I support religious rights and I support the legalization of marijuana (which Republicans are starting to get on board with). Beyond that I’m more libertarian on most issues Like I don’t think the government should be involved in peoples relationships why should the government be involved in your marriage I don’t think that the government should be giving you a tax benefit just for slapping a ring out somebody’s finger regardless if it’s gay or straight marriage government should be out of their relationship and out of the marriage there shouldn’t even be a document saying that you’re legally married. Another one is Government subsidies to places like oil companies and the Greene energy companies, I don’t think the government should be subsidizing them. Ultimately if we had a strong Libertarian party I’ll be voting libertarian but in a binary system where we have an option of voting for a Democrat or Republican or throwing away our vote I tend to vote Republican because they line up with my believes more than the Democrat party.

What Girls & Guys Said
14See personally I see that in joe Biden, I don’t think my views line up completely with the republican party but at the same time I know I cannot vote for Joe Biden, even though I don’t like trump attitude or rhetoric. I was thinking about voting for Jo Jorgensen but like I said we live in a binary system that would be like throwing away my vote
It really is a shame that we don't have a strong third party. Even if you're a hardcore democrat or republican, the presence of a third party would even improve the other parties and force them to take stances that they actually believe in, instead of choosing something simply because it is the opposite of the other. That's the one thing I think most of us can agree on, that the current two-party system we have is a weakness.
I think that’s true, I can see 2 parties splitting off from the 2 mainstream parties, libertarian and progressive (I think we might see an alt right party pop it’s ugly head because most Republicans and libertarian can’t stand those guys ). Another weakness is our voting system, Our voting system really only supports a 2 party system. A simple solution would be a rank choice voting system. I think everyone who goes to vote under the new system should have to watch a 10-15 minute video the first year we do it, and have every new voter watch the video before they vote, rank choice voting isn’t hard to explain but we do need to understand how it works hence why the video. Once we understand how it works it would be easy to do.
Say you have candidates A, B, C, D say your prefer a candidate A then you vote for A as your first choice, then you look at the other 3 and pick out your second choice, Say it candidate C you would put a 2 by C as your second choice and so on with B and D. If that makes any sense.
You would think those are one in the same, yet somehow the latter is worse.
Very true and felt like giving democrats power was the worst of 2 evils I don’t like Trump’s mouth but I like his policies
I think that’s true, Rational people will vote on policy rather than who makes him feel better, I disgree with most of the lefts policy so I vote Republican right now, It could change, I wish there was a strong libertarian party so I could vote libertarian without feeling like I’m throwing away my vote. Like most Republicans don’t support gay marriage and legal weed I differ in that option. I’m socially liberal fiscally libertarian and the role of the federal government libertarian but we’re lumped into Republican because we don’t support AOC or Bernie Sanders ideas. I’m surprised they haven’t kicked Tulsi Gabbard out of their party yet, Nancy Pelosi even though I think she’s a moron I think she’s the only thing that’s stopping the Democratic Party from going completely radical
Though, I will say, if a candidate is so highly controversial and you vote for him anyway- you’re tacitly agreeing with his bullshit.
If the Dems elected a guy who said “grab em by the pussy” I wouldn’t vote him, no mater the platform.
