I've seen it repeatedly shown throughout this week so your accusation is completely false. They don't have it as a continuing part of the screen at all times like they did last year for a number of months but they stopped doing that some months ago, before the election if I recall, not this week.
So your implication that they are trying to make people think Covid isn't a problem any more, when they have had the counter repeatedly on during this week, when they talked extensively about the number of deaths hitting 400,000, when they have had Dr. Fauci, Dr. Gupta and others on repeatedly giving a very sober assessment of the dark days ahead, when they covered Biden's repeated statements about Covid including the potential for the death toll to hit 600,000 eventually as well as other coverage, would seem to show that your accusation is completely false.
Honestly, with how much time Biden has spent talking about Covid-19 this week, his steps to continue to fight it and his comments that we've got a long way to go, why would you be silly enough to even try to claim this?

did you notice how all the governors that refused to end the economic suffering in there states, due to draconian lockdowns... all the sudden cam out and talked about how “we must open the economy’s” and “we must get people back to work”. bahahahaha.
even Antifa is bad now... mayors in the northwest are even admitting that Antifa isn’t just an “idea” but they are a group and causing lots of damage and death! I never looked at the article you posted. My point is, they are the media. They have an agenda. One or the other news site doesn't "have to be telling the truth." It's all skewed. @Andres77 Well, I appreciate your apology (although by this site's standards you've been pretty civil, so thank you for that). But neither you nor @chris_987 have actually answered my question. Tucker Carlson said that CNN had removed their COVID death counter. CNN claimed that they did not. Now, even if we assume that all mainstream news is a cynical ploy to pull the wool over everyone's eyes, the fact remains that either the death counter WAS removed, or it WASN'T. My question is: if I can't trust the mainstream media to tell me which is true, who or what CAN I trust? How do I verify whether the counter was removed or not?
As I posted above, CNN did indeed stop showing the Covid death counter for an unknown period of time after the inauguration, but as of this morning (Monday, 1/25/2021), they have it back on screen. I will add that this is from personal observation and I am also unsure of the exact amount of time that it wasn't on screen.

Well I don't normally watch any cable news, but I do know it's routine for CNN to have it on the screen just about all the time. I only started checking when I happened to see this question because I was curious if it was true and because hypocrisy annoys me and makes me laugh at the same time. It was indeed gone. However, I don't know the exact period of time it wasn't there or for what reason (s) it wasn't on the screen.
@NYCQuestions1976 Okay, that's reasonable. You gotta admit it's saying something that we believe this, though. Because CNN does so much stupid stuff like saying "it's a mostly peaceful protest" with a city in flames in the background, or Chris Cuomo saying "who said protests have to be polite and peaceful?"
I don’t live in the states, but where I live or even in other countries the major news networks have never had a death counter constantly on. Why not choose to have a student loan debt counter or a death counter for the vaccine. Like the fact that I have to explain why these news networks are propaganda machines, shows how easily we are manipulated.

@Andres77 The irony here is that even their approach to COVID hasn't changed at all. There's more money being moved around, an idiotic attempt at being hip with the culture via the 100-day mask challenge, and that's about it. Keeping the same crooks Trump should've fired in their positions, and a whole lot of lip service from the media, but nothing that actually helps in any way. The sad thing is I distinctly remember both Trump and Pence pointing out that this is exactly what would happen and it wasn't even refuted. None of this is a surprise to anyone who's been paying attention.
Do you still follow the established news sources? I have better things to do; that's why nothing they try or do is affecting me much.
