I just don't get how anyone can be forced to attend these bogus camps that seek to destroy people who are gay. Like they'll go in one way then come out mentally destroyed and broken. They don't care if gay people have a miserable relationship with the opposite gender as long as they are not having a relationship with the same. It's all complete bullshit and the fact it hasn't been made nationally condemned and illegal yet is beyond me.

No one is forced into those except children. Once your 18 by law they can't make you do this anymore. They are also rare. Not saying its acceptable, its not, and its definitley not going to do what they want it to do, but context matters.

As to why, well people like to force their beliefs on others. Why do you think we have "conversion therapy" for people that demands they take "sensitivity" training and "racial equity" classes for businesses and even in legal cases? Its punishment for "wrong think", no different then these "therapies" that punish people for being different. These things are everywhere and we are all being bombarded with them at all times and some probably have attended them (school teacher chained up her white students to "get them to understand slavery". This is no different then these conversion therapy classes, its to force conformity of thought and stamp out any dissenting views or in the case of sexual orientation, behaviors.).

It's not normal to be gay. A man shouldn't want to fuck another man or look at him in that manner. A male is supposed to mate with a female, it's a very basic concept of nature. A man and a woman create a family, and no other combination. Not Trannys, gays, or lesbos. While I am not a religious person or an actual Christian, some things in the bible are refreshing to read, particularly the old testament. People do have a tendency to self destruct through their indulgences (sins and iniquities.) The bible simply warns people against such bad behaviors and that for the wages of sin is death. Problem is everyone is such a cry-baby emo case that everyone is so "offended" at the mildest forms of confrontation. If women were not wired the way that they are, there would be so many more fatherless children in the world. You would have higher levels of STD's among a population. Their selective and particular nature in finding partners offsets the fact that men would fuck every woman they thought was hot if they could. Point being, the gays are usually promiscuous, lack the normal female restraint, and have high levels of STDs, HIV, and cancer because of it. Lesbians just can't procreate, no matter how manly the butch is or tries to be. So yes, if your brain is wired correctly and you are mentally stable, you would be straight and fall within the natural order of the universe.

I saw one such leader of conversion therapy, who was caught with a male prostitute on his vacation in the tropics lol.

I think its a "thing" still, because people honestly believe that homosexuality is not real. That the reality is that any sexual deviation from hetero sex is caused by a corrupt society, or is a mental illness.

Also, it's hard to understand science. It's much easier to believe it's a mental illness rather than to investigate the scientific literature and see the truth.

there's also religion. People really think the bible says homosexuality is a sin. And Christian's keep changing their tune as time goes on. Once upon a time it was a sin simply to br gay. Now they say you can't control how you were born, but you can choose to abstain from gay sex. You were still born gay though lol.

They dont like the idea of the bible being wrong. The idea that god made people gay by birthright is not something they really want to believe. They want to believe homosexuality is a result of a bad culture or evil demons. How do you argue with people who have no connection with reality?

The only option is for government to step in and shut it down. And for society to really ostracize these people and make their lives hell for committing these atrocities to young innocent children.

My parents forced me to go to a Christian conversion camp after I was caught having sex with my cousin who was my best friend.
It was very hard at first. We prayed all day, had daily sermons about the evils of homosexuality and premarital sex, we watched educational movies, were given psychiatric treatment and gay aversion treatment.
I no longer have any sexual desires towards women, I'm married to a great guy and expecting our first child as its meant to be. If I had not been treated and saved at Christian camp I would still be sinning with my cousin right now, I wish she could have been saved too.

These conversion "therapy" groups are often ran by religious fundamentalists. Most attendees are minors from religious families that believe that just because some iron age book says homosexuality is a sin, that their son, daughter or relative is trapped in sin. It's tragic. And I firmly believe that if any parent forces their child to attend a conversion camp to "pray away the gay" is committing child abuse. It's evil.
