In a world that is acceptant of so many things: why is prostitution still frowned upon?

Anonymous
In the last decade alone the world became a place where what once was a deviance is now politically correct. Where people would root for the outlaw for sticking it to the system. A world where religion is optional and no longer binding (most of them anyway)

But why is the oldest profession still not being viewed as a noble one?

I mean the arguments are the same:
- It's a transaction
- No one is getting hurt
- Sex is already a common thing...

Disclaimer: I am not talking about the skin trade or any forced prostitution rings. This is in reference to the profession where a man or a woman decides on her own to charge men or women for sex with her / him.
