I would prefer to live in a nice mansion in a nice part of a large city. for example, Beacon Hill or Back Bay in Boston or College Hill in Providence or Park Ave In New York etc. But I also would love to own a 2000 acre tract of land at a high elevation in upstate Vermont with a nice home on the peak of a small mountain. To round out my portfolio I would want a long stretch of beach on the southwestern shore of Sanibel that has a nice big house and a little cove to park a nice boat. No such property exists any more because that cove was blocked by a sand bar years ago and is now just a stagnant salt water pond.

I live beyond both. And I’ll never live in a city or neighborhood setting again. I love stepping outside and not seeing another structure or person. Plus I don’t have to worry about my neighbors disturbing me or Vice versa. I can crank the Marshall up anytime I want without repercussions. Also, when the SHTF, and it will (this past year has just been a trial run), I am too far out to worry about dumbasses destroying my property or threatening my life. Wouldn’t end well for them anyway with the Arsenal I have. 😉

City centre all the way. I like walking to everything. I like seeing all the interactions between exceedingly diverse groups of people. Aka people watching.
I like skycsrapers and mirrored buildings. I like boutiques and small business owners. The suburbs is so blah, and cookie-cutter.

Suburbs or country. I've lived in the city before. That was a long time ago. I would not do it today. Cities are mass chaos to me. I hate to even pass through cities if I don't have to.
Good jobs can be hard to come by in small towns and the country. So I've lived in the outskirts of cities most of my life. I try to be on the very edge. If it's more than about ten minutes to get out, then I feel trapped.

We live on a huge estate of just six very individual private properties (my husband actually designed all of them) on the outskirts of a nice quiet, peaceful village, surrounded by the open countryside... Beautiful.
I live in a city close to nature - beach, parks, mountainous region so its somewhat close but i love farm land on the outskirts.

I lived in a suburb like area most of my life despite moving back and forth between central and north NJ. Suburbs are just quieter. Plusss I don't have to worry about getting shot just for walking on the steet like my last home.

God I hated it when I lived in the city. It was so noisy I could not sleep at midday 😂.

I don't even work in the city anymore. I really hated it. No place to park, everything was a hassle, people were rude. I like my house in the suburbs. It's nice and quiet. I have a nice yard. I have a driveway and garage.

In the inner city. I would have more things to do, more places to go and life would be more exciting. I live in the suburbs and I hate it. Nothing happens here.
I preferred it when my backyard was only 40 feet deep. Then I hopped the fence into the Avocado orchard! Thing was if the rancher Caught wind of ya out there. You seriously (No joke) get your hide Peppered with ole rock salt. Those were the good ole days

Inner city. The suburbs are boring and I'm not that old yet. Maybe if I ever grow old and have a family. Hell, the suburbs are pretty much ONLY for families.

Suburbs are safer with better schools with people who care about their neighborhood. The city just has ‘hoods, terrible schools, crime and a few rich areas with very expensive private schools. If I want nightlife, special restaurants, theater then I will drive a bit and pay for parking.

I've always preferred the suburbs, even before CoVid lockdowns cause it’s cleaner and safer and more peaceful.

Sounds beautiful... Need a housekeeper? Or a nanny? 😄
Truthfully speaking we could do with both, however very sadly we don't live near a lake... Sorry.
I guess I could forgo the lake lol
I shall add you to my list of suitable and potential candidates... Good Luck! 🙂
Someone really downvoted me for that 🤣🤣🤣
Well I shall upvote you for that. 🙂
@EmmaMary aww thanks lol I just find it funny the stuff they be downvoting 🤣
But if you couldn’t live on a farm the city is preferable to you over suburbs?
I live in a city close to nature - beach, parks, mountainous region so its somewhat close but i love farm land on the outskirts.
I'm from central/north NJ. What area did you use to live by that was bad?
@dontknow12 I am being vague for a reason love 😂

but if you could only live in one of these two though?
Suburbs igs. I could still play in mud and play with a dog less worried about it getting hit by a car. Plus its less people and not as loud.
I can't believe it either.
city is too loud I can't imagine how people can sleep living in New York
Why that vs living in suburbs?
I like the liveliness and all the options it offers.
Isn’t Miami like mostly suburbs? I mean there’s that one downtown area and like that’s it
@Jack9949 yes but liberty city is a bad part of it as well
large residential area's on the outskirts of cities typically middle class or wealthier people tend to live there
