He may have done the neck-press incorrectly but let's not ignore that Floyd overdosed on drugs himself. That and he was a criminal so I don't see why people see him as some sort of martir.

While I don't think he left for work that day planning specifically to murder a Black man, I do think that at some point after he had him in custody that he made a clear decision to summarily execute him for whatever reason and I am sure racism played a role though I'm not sure if it was all racism or just one of the factors.
I believe that in that jurisdiction 2nd degree murder would be the appropriate crime to convict him under. But, there is room to argue that he was in the process of committing a felony by the way he was treating Floyd prior to Floyd's death and if so then the charge of 2nd degree murder could conceivably be changed to first. I don't believe they have the death penalty in that state though. Clearly the prosecutors office did not think they could prove first degree murder. They did charge him under more than one homicide law so the jury would have a choice of more than on statute so they could simply decide for themselves which crime was the best to convict him of. This increases the chance that he will be convicted of something. The theory is that if you only charge one level of homicide and the jury does not think there is sufficient evidence to convict then you just threw away your chance to keep him in prison for at least a few years. It's an insurance policy of sorts. I would hope that after his conviction he is also tried under various federal statutes including depriving Floyd of his civil rights. This way when he eventually gets out of state prison he'd have to go right into federal prison or perhaps the other way around.
In any case I am sure he will be convicted of something and spend time in prison. I hope it's 2nd degree murder and he gets the maximum penalty. Further I think it would be just to house him in a cell block with all Black inmates each already convicted of murder. That would take care of the justice end of things for a while.
Floyd was no angel. But that does not mean that police have the authority or right to kill anyone they like who has broken a law. The penalty for counterfeiting money is I believe no more than 15 years in federal prison and for passing one fake note or even just a handful would likely have gotten him less than a year, not even enough time to make the federal government pay for a degree.
When he made the comment "You're not so tough anymore huh?" As he was kneeling him. And the fact that cops are trained to restrain... news flash, cops are not supposed to kill bad guys either.. that cop is a disgrace and I'm glad his wife left him after she learned what he did.
I don't encourage death, cause its over and that's it. Life in prison so he can waste away his entire life. Always watching his back and always knowing he's in there for something he chose to do will eat up at him for the rest of his life.
He's a cop, sure the man he killed wasn't an angel, but he was restrained and murdered. And for that lack of self control by a man who wears a badge. Yes, he deserves to suffer for his crime. Jailtime for murder is a just punishment.
That'll just give out a message that its okay to murder and nothing will happen if you're a cop. They're police officers. They're supposed to uphold themselves above everyday citizens and hold the law to the highest virtue. If they're taking the lives of people they have restrained than that only causes public ourtage. It tells the world we can't trust them. So he deserves jail for failing to live up to the standards of the men in blue.
They deserve to be incarcerated. I mentioned this before. If you commit the crime, then do the time. So he should go to jail for murder. Thank you for agreeing with me.
No. He was doing something that should have been done a long time ago. Putting a nasty son of a btch like Floyd in his place. Humiliaiting him and making him whine like a literal girl is exactly what he deserved.
Thats not his job. He's a police officer. His job is to arrest, and read his rights. Thats why we have rights. But you don't seem to want that. Instead you want blood. Don't worry, that cop won't last long in jail.
He needs to be in prison. He knew exactly what he was doing. They told him Floyd was unconscious and he still stayed on him. Who the victim was, what he was on, and what his criminal record was doesn't matter. This cop dished out street justice over a 20 dollar bill and some drugs. He KILLED SOMEBODY OVER A 20 AND SOME PILLS. Does that sound like a cop? Is that what we expect from law enforcement?
Lock him up in the same cell block with the people he locked up. He's not a cop, he's a murderer.
I think it is a thing of being taught some thing wrong. It's a massive cock up. Personally every one put their own bit to make this a crime. Floyd for resisting, the neck restraint. the time he was on the floor. These officers had done this dozens of times with no problem.
He is as disgrace to the uniform and all Police Depts. I'm sure there are a very few in all Depts, that follow his ideals. BUT THEY ARE WRONG. He needs to be found guilty of murder, and get a long jail sentence. But once in, it may not prove to be a very long sentence.
He won't even get convicted in my opinion. History tells us so.

Fentanyl and not adhering to police commands killed Floyd. Passing fake $20 bills put him in the situation. Then you have a cop who has dealt with a thousand assholes who will fight and try to kill because they don’t want to go to jail. If you were that cop for twenty years you would see it differently. Both are victims of the drug trade really. Cities can’t keep their police now as they are retiring and leaving for the suburbs. Fuck these cities and their corrupt politicians. Fuck the inhabitants too as they vote these asshole mayors in along with the city councils.

I am trying to figure best way for his capital punishment.
1) hung but with bags 3 times his weight to make neck separate from body 2) beheading 3) cut with razor blades and then put in water tank filled with piranhas 4) electric chair no water 5) dropped into a tank of acid 6) tied with chains between two trucks and have trucks accelerate to 100 mph going opposite directions.

i think he's innocent and the crimes are accusing him of, you need to establish intent for third degree murder. third- degree is a crime of malice or extreme neglect. giving the crowd and the situation there a reasonable doubt for that. 2nd there not going to get him on. he wasn't committing a felony he was going his job. so they can't convince him on second degree murder so likely he's going to get off, if the jury isn't black mailed into a convection

He should be charged with murder. Granted, George Floyd was a worthless POS, but the cops could have just thrown him in the back of the police car instead if just killing him.
Shoulda woulda could've. Doesn't really matter when it's more than likely that he overdosed than asphyxiated as a result of the restraint.

Has no one every heard of police protocol? It literally was taught to him and the entire force as a defense tactic. Why the character assassination? This would be like a team of arsonists crying that strange men in suits arrived in a truck with hoses to extinguish there fire.

I guess it's asking too much to look at all of the evidence presented at trial. You may still conclude that, but at least look at all of the evidence. You'd want that as well if you were on trial.
I've been following the trial. The doctor during his testimony today said literally everyone including healthy people wheather under drugs or not will die if subject what Floyd went through. He suffocated that man to death.
That's one witness. I'm waiting until the defense has called all of their witnesses and all witnesses have been cross-examined. You're entitled to jump to conclusions if you want to (and I know you made your mind up from previous comments before the trial even began), but I'd like to see the evidence first.
The lung expert earlier today and the last doctor who just testified are saying the samething. Go the gym and get two 45 lbs weights and lay them on your neck or press your hand hard on the side of your neck to feel how painful it is. It's obvious to see the man was murdered on camera.
I am a physician expert. Tobin’s testimony was an absolute disgrace, and was a twisting of notions to fit the State’s narrative. Unfortunately, Nelson did not have the background to refute. Here are my issues:
1. His statement that “fentanyl increases breathing rate”. This is absolutely false. Fentanyl is a strong respiratory depressant. It can most definitely reduce if not stop respirations. Even Wikipedia lists this as a serious adverse effect. There is a reason we intubate patients receiving this type of anesthesia. Also, excessive fentanyl can cause PEA. i have seen this.
2. If the knee was the cause of the breathing difficulty, why did girlfriend say he can’t breath BEFORE girlfriend was even on the ground? This is something that should have been nailed in cross.
2. The autopsy report demonstrated “pulmonary edema”. There could be several causes to this: [1] a failing heart, causing a back up of fluid in the lungs. [2] primary lung problem (viral infection, like COVID), [3] rigid chest wall syndrome (From fentanyl), causing negative thoracic pressure causing edema. girlfriend could have had all three!
3. The graphs and modeling Tobin showed did not take into account pulmonary edema, which changes lung compliance significantly, which changes those graphs. Those graphs and curves he made, estimating the force on the neck vs. effort to breath is a complete crock.
4. Autopsy did not demonstrate ANY evidence of hypoxic evidence to the brain. None. The brain, is in fact very sensitive to lack of oxygen, but there was no evidence on autopsy.
5. Compressing the hypopharynx is very hard to do, because you have to get through a lot of soft tissue in the neck to achieve compression. That would cause a lot of soft tissue damage. There was NONE on the autopsy report.
6. It should be noted that there were likely multifactorial events here unrelated to the knee. The fact that he couldn’t breath before being on the ground suggests pulmonary edema, and inability to oxygenate. Fentanyl reduced respiratory rate and drive. Blood CO2 (arterial or venous) will increase with hypoventilation and pulmonary edema. All of this without physical damage to the neck or pharynx, and NO evidence of brain hypoxia.
7. Why is this expert doing hundreds of hours of work pro-bono? Perhaps he has a political agenda. You don’t need to be a medical expert to arrive at this conclusion.
I seriously doubt you know more than a expert pulmonologist and all the other doctors that agreed with him so far. Even all the cops and experts on use of force have testified and basically agreed with what the doctors have been saying.
Pinning your knee on someone's neck for several minutes will kill anyone.
I never claimed to be a medical expert, but there are others besides the ones you've been listening to. I just posted a comment from someone who does claim to be one to give you an example of how opinions vary. The defense hasn't called witnesses yet, and presumably a few of them will be medical experts who offer a different opinion. It shouldn't come as a shock that witnesses for the prosecution agree with each other. Did you also watch the cross examination?
Two of the experts (one on use of force) and one of the medical experts are testifying for the first time in court. Is the coroner who did the autopsy going to testify?
I understand you've made your mind up before hearing ANY evidence so are prone to confirmation bias here.
Yeah, you right I made my mind up a long time ago. There's no reason for a cop to kneel on the neck of a handcuffed man for over 9 straight minutes. Logic tells me he is trying to torture him to death which he did.
No. He has a right to trial and defense but the camera footage shows he is guilty. I can be caught on camera shooting someone to death and decide to still have my right to trial exercised.
That is exactly the type of tunnel vision that is prevented by allowing both sides to prevent their case.
But don't worry, because a lot of jurors who should have been excused for being biased weren't, the jury will convict, especially after the BLM threat to riot and destroy if there's an acquittal.
I see one man hurting another, then killing him. He is not a demon, just a asshole. Emmanuel Aranda is a demon. he throw a bot off a 40 foot leg, just to kill him. Never met him before, just to kill him. That is a demon.

Seems guilty. But I’ll let the jury decide. Even tho they have a tendency to let cops off the hook.
I think that they should handcuff him in the prone position on a Minneapolis street and put 3 full-grown men kneeling on his back and neck for 9 minutes and 29 seconds.
@OliviaOfTheScots He was ahead of his time, he predicted what will happen to Europe 80 years ago now we need to save Europe from undesirable foreigners and homosexuals and need to bring a collective feeling of nationalism in our continent and to maintain our purity by not intermixing with other races.
To some extent, he himself caused what is now happening. If he hadn't committed the genocide, the West wouldn't be as demoralized as it is now and it wouldn't have painted all of nationalism in the negative light it is now, while communist atrocities are overshadowed.
In short, if Hitler had played the game better and actually just stuck to Germany and merely deport the Jews, the West would have been better off.
@ThisDudeHere if you really really want to give fucking Hitler some credit it's for stabilizing Germany after ww1, every policy after is scum especially of the back of blaming Jewish people for Germanys shortcomings
@OliviaOfTheScots from what I know of history, Hitler can't really even be credited for stabilizing Germany as it had, mostly, already become stable by the time he got power. The only way it wasn't was politically, whic he exploited.
Just to add I say he's a hipster over the slightly hopeful fact that people have some gram of education and lack of self pity to believe in nazi ideology
@OliviaOfTheScots I used to hate Hitler and his policies but after really delving deep into his philosophy and protection and love for his people and his nation made me realise we are living in grave danger and need conservation.
dude, you realize that when he finally realized that the war was lost he ordered what was left of his forces to destroy all of Germany, believing that since Germany had failed him, it didn't deserve to live.
@OliviaOfTheScots people have double standards they praise other people for liking their culture all while denouncing theirs. There are 4 billion Asians, 2 billion Africans on this globe but less than a billion of Europeans? The rest being Hispanics.
What does that have to do with your beliefs (again I really hope you're just a moronic hipster and dont actually believe in the self serving pity of nazi ideaolgy)
It means that we are the real minority and the ones in need of conservation, I live in Sweden and I've seen my nation go from a safe beautiful nation to living hell, the left wing parties let in refugees from Syria and gave them free citizenship and tax payers pay for the money they get in turn for doing no job, they rape women for entertainment, that's not a myth that's a part of their culture and commit crime and forcibly marry white women, it's not safe to go out alone even if you're passing through a Muslim area, the illegals just ruined my nation and I truly blaim the coronavirus on the Chinese people and I hope every single 1 billion of them die I've had it with this world, the only solution is to stop these hypocrites ruining European identity and spreading the feeling of nationalism throughout Europe, and recolonising our past colonies to maintain European culture and people all while maintaining our different cultures and attaining racial purity.
Even if all of Europe and the US turned fascist/imperial, it would not be able to recolonize the world. Western advancement was a fluke of history - it happened due to a plethora of circumstances, none of which exist now because the rest of the world has cought up. If I'm correct, there are a bit more people in China alone than there are in the Western civilisation.
The main reason for my opinions is American media, I don't like black and gay people all they show is black and gay people and spread hatred against Europeans. I've been to the United States and was shocked to see so many Africans the whole city of Birmingham was black according to my eyes, it was better when we went to the suburbs to my cousins house.
Again you're 16, you haven't experienced enough of the world so again for all that's holy dont reside yourself to be a cunt

Christ. Don’t you people believe in forgiveness. Why is there all this hatred toward the man? George Floyd wasn’t any better himself. He’s a wife abuser and notorious criminal.
So abuse which again is not a law backed by the death penalty, if you're all for the police having the power to be judge jury and executioner then go for it but dont surprised when it goes tits up
He deserves the death penalty by the same way he murdered Floyd. Over 9 minutes with someone kneeling on his neck and squeezing his fingers knockeles in pain as he did to Floyd.
I think you cropped the demon out of the picture. That said, I don't care what happens to Chauvin and would be happy if it leads to another 9 months of cops vs rioters.

I think it was around the 30s he was out into power? He put in a lot of policies involving balancing out wealth and stabilizing Germany's economy
That doesn't sound like love for your nation.
Which resulted in mass extermination of jews, gays, political opposition and people who didn't agree with him that's a banging role model right there
@OliviaOfTheScots people have double standards they praise other people for liking their culture all while denouncing theirs. There are 4 billion Asians, 2 billion Africans on this globe but less than a billion of Europeans? The rest being Hispanics.
What does that have to do with your beliefs (again I really hope you're just a moronic hipster and dont actually believe in the self serving pity of nazi ideaolgy)
Just realized you're 16 so respectfully get out your bedroom and experience other people before residing your existence to being a cunt
Get off the internet and out your room
You're 16
@OliviaOfTheScots I'm concerned for the future of my race.
Again you're 16, you haven't experienced enough of the world so again for all that's holy dont reside yourself to be a cunt
He’s done far worse than what Chauvin ever did. Spend more time lambasting him
Except ones dead?
@OliviaOfTheScots so what? Better him dead than abusing another person
@OliviaOfTheScots Two birds with one stone. Now another abusive man got caught as well 🤷♂️
Is it a death sentence to kill a guy convicted of abuse?
@OliviaOfTheScots He got what he deserved. I don’t feel sorry for that sucker
@OliviaOfTheScots Should’ve been dead a Looonnnggg ass timr ago
I dont either but by the law he didn't have the right to kill him
@OliviaOfTheScots Well screw the law. Its ridiculous Floyd never got the death penalty for his past crimes
@OliviaOfTheScots He was a colorist who abused black women and then treats his then current white girlfriend like cosmic gold.
He got caught squeezing the knuckles of Floyd together to cause him even more pain.
Agreed.
It’s ok ex cops are HATED and treated as bad as pedophiles in prison so he’s gonna get got.

It's not a matter of being black or white but rather what is wrong or right.
