It was meant to be anywhere. It can be individual, or institutional, or both. It’s entirely up to you.
Haha, no it's not up to me or anyone whether institutional racism exists or not. It either does or doesn't.
No, its up to you which one you want to talk about
Of course. But in that case we should talk of individual racism as the other doesn't exist anymore. I've never been ignorant on its existence.
I’m curious, why do you think institutional racism doesn’t exist? Do you have education in the topic? Did you read the research on the topic?
Where does it not exist anymore? Because there definitely are places where it does
To the asker: I'm a student of political science soon to have a Masters. I'm also an active politician, and I've looked at multiple sources of statistics. To Tyrael: Where does it exist and how?
Segregation in China is one that immediately comes to mind
Im interested in having a discussion with you. I covered this in my college education in Sociology, Social Psychology, and Communications. I can cite my sources supporting institutional racism.
@Tyrael Indeed that does exist. I was arguing from a western perspective however as this almost always is the premise for the debate. That institutional racism exists in places outside the western world is one thing, which is why I'm emphasizing the need of specifying where and how in the world one claims it occurs.
Feel free to cite sources, but I can give you the disclosure that I do not hold sociology in high regard. From what I have seen it is a vastly politically biased subject and deals in pseudo-knowledge.
@AlexanderAnttila I see, well the where wasn't specified yet you still seemed adamant in your statement, so I just wanted to clarify. Even within the Western perspective, the UK and US for example are very different in this regard.
@Tyrael It was a presupposition which I admit was unclear, but I'm used to premising the discussion in the western hemisphere with those on the political left. How are they different?
You’re profile says you’re from Sweden. I’m from the US. It’s completely different here. Before we discuss, are you saying institutional racism doesn’t exist in the US? I’m saying institutional racism exists, because it exists in the US. I’m asking because we might actually agree on this because of the location.
No, I'm speaking of the west as a whole regarding institutional racism. And if you do say it exists in the US you have to point me to which institution and substantiate that systematic discrimination occurs.
